Beautiful property in a beautiful neighborhood. The Old Homestead still retains all the charm and safety I remember from our visits there in the late 60s and early 70s. The private beach is wonderful and the beach guards were on the job. So convenient to Marconi's, Berardi's, food and drug stores, etc. including Cedar Point. We'll definitely return!
My family enjoyed staying at this cottage because the private beach was a short walk down the street and the location was in a safe and quiet neighborhood. The house was equipped with the amenities we needed for our 3 night stay including beach gear (chairs, umbrella, towels, wagon). We visited the lighthouse and fishing pier a few times during our stay which was a short 5-10 minute drive.
This cottage was perfect for our short family getaway. It is cute and clean and has all the supplies you can need and want. It is located less than a block from a private beach which had very few people on it even though it was memorial day weekend. There is also a cute all seasons room in case it rains. We really enjoyed our stay at Huron and would definately come back.
Our group rented 2 houses for Labor Day weekend. This property was perfect location, clean, charming. I highly recommend this property and Marcy as a host.
Adorable, modern, clean house that includes several amenities! Loved that bedding and towels were provided and beds were large and comfortable. Great location!
The Lake Erie Cottage was just great . Clean and comfortable.Old Homestead is so quiet and family friendly. The shared beach is large and the water is clean and shallow, great for kids .
We enjoyed our stay at this home in Huron. The home was very clean and well equipped with everything we needed. The location was perfect and a short walk to the beach. Our visit was in cold March but we want to come back in the summer time. The owner was very kind and helpful.
We loved the lake house & hope to return! We were two small families for the week - 3 adults & 3 kids age 8, 10, & 18 months. The house has everything you need and is very comfortable.
We especially enjoyed the 4 seasons room as a second living space! The kitchen has ample storage, we cooked most of the week and it was stocked with all the basics we needed. I was surprised by how little baby proofing we had to do for my niece which was wonderful.
The walk to the beach is short. Using the wagon & chairs provided in the shed was great and made it easy to cart everything to the sand.
The neighborhood is lovely, well maintained, and neighborly. It’s easy to see why families return annually, I’d love to do the same!
Huron is a small town with local gems steps away from the house & all the bigger stores 15-20 min drive.
We spent 4 days at the beach, watched a few storms from the comfort of the house, explored Old Woman’s reserve and saw multiple bald eagles, visited friends in Cleveland, picked up the most delicious peaches from a local farm, had a blast at Ghostly Manner, & of course enjoyed a day at Cedar Point.
Hope to be back next year!
Loved our stay at this lake cottage. My mother vacationed in Huron as a child and loved coming back now. The house was a short walking distance (actually a nice relaxing walk) to a very private park which lead to the beach. The neighborhood was quiet and comfortable. The house had a very nice open floor plan including a nice sun room on the front for relaxation. The house was nicely decorated and not cluttered. Plenty of nice clean dishes and silverware along with a lovely coffee corner for our use. Plenty of towels and beach towels were available as well. The shed was full of useful items for beach use. Make sure to try the pizza at The Sandbar less than a mile away. This restaurant/bar was there when my mother visited back in the 50s. She walked into the restaurant and said she was transported back to that time. Oh, and don't forget the quant little park down the street complete with tennis court, swings and a small baseball area. All this basically in the same block! The check in and out was super simple. Marcy was very helpful, attentive and responded quickly to any correspondence we had and happy to help in any way she could. Thank you Marcy!
Our family had a really nice time in Huron at this rental. It was such a wonderful place with families out and about all over the neighborhood and city. It seemed like one of the safest places on earth. The beach was fantastic and the rental included everything we needed to enjoy time at the private beach area. If you want to slow down and enjoy yourselves for a few days or longer, this is the place to go.
Perfect experience. The property has every amenity you need for a very relaxing stay. We biked to the beach daily, and sat on the beautiful front enclosed patio every night. The host is responsive, attentive, and made sure our stay was successful. One of the things that shows true value is what happens when things go wrong. It wasn't a big deal at all but there was not a hair dryer. This is where Marcy went the extra mile. She made sure that a brand new one was delivered that very same day. I recommend this to anyone looking for peace, quiet, and the perfect family weekend.
The home was very clean and pretty and full of all the kitchen items you’ll need. It was located about 2 blocks (approx 6 minutes walk) to a lovely beach. We had 3 and sometimes 4 cars so had to park 1 or 2 in the road but always found parking places. We had a really good time. Thanks Marcy
We live about an hour from Huron, but it felt like we could’ve been in a small lake town 100s of miles away.
Both the town and the cottage were delightful! Marcy has made Her place bright and comfortable. Morning coffee in the sunroom was our favorite! Dinner out back came in a close second.
We stayed a week but wish we would’ve stayed two or three!
We rented two of Marcy’s properties in the same neighborhood - it was a blast. No one wanted to leave. The house had everything we needed. Marcy was amazing - kind, responsive, thoughtful. We will absolutely stay here again next summer;) Thank you, Marcy!
This cottage in Old Homestead is a great place to stay. Clean and well equipped with three comfortable bedrooms we always feel right at home at 213 Miami Place . A short bike ride or walk to the beach is a great day.
We've been vacationing in Old Homestead in Huron for over 20 years and this fantastic 3 bedroom beach house fit our family perfectly. 2 queen bedrooms plus a king bedroom gave everyone enough space for themselves plus the sunroom in front was amazing. Very clean and very responsive host. We highly recommend.
Our family had a wonderful stay here! Quiet neighborhood, bike friendly and close to Cedar Point and Sandusky. Everyone loved the front room with its lovely breeze. And the backyard was perfect for outdoor eating and grilling. The kitchen was well-stocked, too. Fun week at the Lake!
The cottage is lovely and much larger and nicer than expected. The location can’t be beat with a walk to the beautiful beach, as well as restaurants and stores. We wish we had stayed a week instead of a night.
Just a few Minute walk to the beach. 20 minutes from the ferry and e shoreline. Clean and plenty of room and nice set up.
