Out in the woods

Nice spot a few miles outside of town that is set back from the road 4/10 of a mile. Nestled in the woods overlooking a stream. Nice furnishings and interior design. Only drawback is they have not invested to the same degree in stocking the kitchen and linens. We had to do the dishes after every meal and double up the pillows to rest our heads.

Gorgeous getaway

Beautiful house nestled in the hills. Close enough to enjoy shopping and dining in town and far enough to feel the stress of city life melt away. The property manager was communicative and responsive but not invasive. The kitchen was well stocked and coffee addicts like me will make good use of the Keurig. We weren’t able to make use of any of the outside amenities because of the severe storms that came though during our stay - maybe next time. Overall it was the perfect weekend getaway location for us. Thank you so much!

cow pasture

We all loved it, being a farm family it was perfect. One item that all commented on, was the entrance to the property is a bit sketchy. Should be better designated. Everyone missed it at least twice. A flag and trash cans at 55 mph if tough to recognize. Not a lot of time to react on the well traveled Lancaster road. We would suggest that a better method be provided for connecting to TV. Out of 5 adults, not one phone made the connection. The lock on the lower level entrance would have been nice to be in working order. The stairs and deck to upper level was very nice but did not provide for a good hand hold on railing. Couple of days there was a bit of ice and a grip able handrail should be provided. We would also recommend that a grab bar in the lower level shower be installed. Stepping down out of shower and then stepping down to floor could be a bit hazardous. The shower itself was wonderful, nice job. We would rent again and recommend to others.

Beautiful location, very secluded and private

The house sits on a beautiful, large piece of property far from the road and neighboring homes. The house is very nicely maintained. It has a deck on the back which we enjoyed sitting on to enjoy the beautiful weather. Both master bedrooms have a full bath. One is on the upper living level and the other is downstairs. The only drawbacks were the bathroom doors which slide shut and had to be closed gently or they would bounce back open. Also, there is some type of water pump in the lower level bathroom that is rather loud when activated with toilet flushing or large amounts of water usage. The keyless entry was a plus. There are beautiful wood floors throughout the house. We enjoyed the one mile walk to the road and back with beautiful views. Very pleasant stay.

Simply Amazing

We enjoyed our stay. This was a great location and had everything you needed. We loved how it was secluded from the road and tucked in the woods. Yet it was a short 10 minute drive to anything you needed. Amy the home owner was very pleasant to speak to and we will definitely be scheduling another stay in the future. A+++

Great country get away, yet only 12 mins from EKU

We enjoyed our stay immensely. The location was fantastic. This farmhouse is tucked off into the woods with great views yet only 12 mins away from the college campus in Richmond. The pictures represent the property very well, with one exception. The sunroom/3rd bedroom with the twin bed is not a stand alone bedroom. You have to access it through the master bedroom, which was no problem for us, as it was a family stay. You can also access it from a sliding patio door, but you have to go outside onto the deck and then over to another door to get back into the house, which was not a good option for us while it was raining. The beds are beyond amazing... Always a crap shoot when you arrive at a short term rental but these beds are new and super comfortable. If you are traveling with more to an four people, bring some paper plates. There are only 4 plates and 4 bowls in the kitchen. The kitchen is reasonably supplied other than that. Easy and cheap fix, so hopefully the owners will reply that they have added more plates and bowls, but on the bright side, paper plates meant less dishes! :-) I stand behind my five star review as this is a great property but wanted people to know about that the 3rd bedroom, as that is the only thing that was not clear from the listing.

Fantastic Stay!

My husband and I loved staying at the farm house. It is so peaceful out there and we loved seeing the cows! It was very easy to check-in and we loved that it was contactless. Amy was very sweet and very helpful when we were trying to find the place at night (Google could not pinpoint the exact location). It is an ideal location, being about 10 minutes away from the highway and 35 to 40 minutes away from Lexington. The description and amenities included are accurate. We liked that there is a separate entrance to the basement bedroom. There is a gravel pathway to the house once you enter the property. Absolutely loved the deck and being able to see all the stars at night. The kitchen is well stocked with pans, utensils, silverware, and cups. The bed we used on the main floor was very comfortable. The bathrooms on the main floor are a bit small but the one in the basement is a good size. There is even a playground area for kids and a picnic table. I highly recommend this place for a unique and peaceful experience!

Perfect for a quiet getaway

A friend and I chose this property for a quilting retreat, and we were thrilled - quiet, beautiful trees and fields (with some great cows), comfy beds, and plenty of room for us to spread out with our sewing supplies. Special shout-out for the large deck - perfect for a watching the sun go down!

Quiet, comfortable, fun

Once inside the gate, we we welcomed by several cows. They came right up to the car as we drove along the road through the pasture. Fun! House was clean and comfortable. Plenty of linens, pillows, etc. Nice sleeping arrangements. The kids enjoyed the swing, hiking to the pond and also the sunroom with a twin bed. We all appreciated the farm setting and the deck spaces. Owner was in contact after check in to make sure we had what we needed. Would gladly book again!
