Spectacular

We had a lovely time at Melissa's. The property is beautiful and the house is great for a group of people and dogs. My two newfs were in heaven with the water access and dock - they weren't interested in going for walks because the property is so great. The kitchen is very well appointed (great blender, lots of pots and pans, etc.). We look forward to visiting again!

54th Birthday Celebration and ECU Fall Break

October 6-13, 2023 Another awesome Aurora trip at Sea More is in the book! This is our Family’s 2nd time staying at Melissa’s amazing home! We celebrated my Husband’s 54th Birthday and our youngest Son’s Senior ECU Fall Break. We had fantastic weather compared to our first trip here, so we were able to enjoy the outside a lot more. We rode our Sea-Doo and caught several different types of fish and blue crabs from the pier. We played soccer, badminton, and frisbee, and we hung out at the fire pit. We saw dolphins several times as well, which was amazing! We can’t wait to “Sea More” on our next trip! Thank You, Melissa and Girls! Great Fishing Vacation

We had a wonderful time at the Seamore. The property was beautiful, just as described. We were lucky that the weather was perfect for all 5 days. Very secluded, great for the dog. Melissa is very communicative and reached out to make sure all was well. Any questions were answered immediately. I took my 16 ft. fishing boat with me and the ramp and boat lift worked great. If you have a boat, this is a perfect rental location. The dock was great for fishing and swimming as well. We caught drum and flounder on this trip. The view from the deck is awesome! For an inshore fishing vacation, this is an outstanding property.

Amazing Vacation!!

To start! Melissa is the absolute best! I felt completely prepared for this vacation because of her. She gave me as much information before we arrived as she could and that made a world of difference! We got to see dolphins almost everyday. Our goal with this vacation was a nice relaxing but fun getaway. Melissa's exceeded all our expectations and more! The view is breathtaking! The house is beautiful and clean! The weather was absolutely gorgeous! We can't wait to come back! Seriously, book with Melissa because you won't be disappointed! Thank you again Melissa!

Peace and Quiet

Wanted somewhere we could just relax since this was first Vacation in 2 yrs. Sea More was it. Great dock to fish, relax and watch the kids play in the water. Our family of 7 had 3 teenagers and they stayed content the whole time. House was roomy enough, however you do have shared bathrooms between all bedrooms but we made it work. Any questions we had Melissa answered quickly. Thank you for sharing your home!

Destination-Relaxation

Our family thoroughly enjoyed our time at SeaMore. The weather was beautiful and the peacefulness could not have been better. We enjoyed time out on the dock fishing, reading and just talking. Just being able to sit out on the dock and hear nothing but the fish pop out of the water or the dolphins playing around, was very relaxing. The house was great and we had plenty of room. We spent evenings in the living area catching up on Stranger Things and a few other Netflix and Hulu shows together. The area around the house was quiet and peaceful. You could barely hear the fishermen talking and when the barges went by, it was an enjoyable sound. If you want a quiet and peaceful vacation where it seems time just slows down, then SeaMore is definitely a place to stay for a week or more. Melissa was a gracious host and made sure everything was just right for us. We have never met, but our family made a new friend. Thank you again for a much needed vacation. The Ammons Crew

A place to relax and play

We had such a nice time here. I went with my husband and our dog. We often have a hard time finding places due to our dog having anxiety around other dogs/kids. This was the perfect choice since it was remote and quiet with no other people or dogs around. She also loved the ramp into the water and couldn’t wait every day for us to take her down there to play and explore. We also loved swinging in the hammock, floating in the inner tubes, canoeing, grilling, riding bikes down the peaceful gravel paths, relaxing inside and looking out at the water, and admiring the wildlife: dolphins, crabs, rabbits, fish, and more. Amenities were comfortable and clean. Melissa went above and beyond to make sure we got in ok and were having a nice time which was much appreciated. Small questions I had were answered quickly. If you book in the summertime, make sure you have a plan to combat the mosquitos (coils and repellent were provided which was nice). Otherwise this was probably one of the most relaxing and enjoyable places we have ever stayed at.

dolphins daily !!

This property is exactly as described, but more gorgeous in person. Melissa thought of everything. It's remote, takes dogs, has boat ramp and amazing dock. we saw dolphins daily, did well fishing, and fair crabbing. the mosquitos were evil in the grass when we were there, but the deck and dock seemed to have enough wind. definitely plan to return, and appreciate the fantastic communication from Melissa.

The SeaMore has it all!

We were looking for a place to stay for a fishing trip. We could not have found anywhere better. The convenience of having your own ramp and lift makes boating simple. The fish cooperated nicely and blue crab was delicious. The house is very nice and has all accessories you will need. Any necessities that are needed is a short drive into Bayboro. Looking forward to staying here again! Thanks Melissa for always being available! Wes Moore - Raleigh, NC

Two days of bliss

When you roll up the gravel road to Melissa's place your cares drift away. The teens were in love immediately and found it easy to put away their phones and take advantage of all the cool places to hang out. My husband kept thanking me for finding this spot and we had loads of fun fishing, canoeing, watching dolphins, playing games at night and taking in the views from every corner of the property. Melissa is a kind and thoughtful host. She made us feel right at home from our first communications. Our 9 year old lab was in heaven swimming, chasing balls and watching the schools of fish from the dock. That dock is primo, complete with a hammock. Of course our 16 year old couldn't help take a picture or two - it feels like a nature resort! There were only four of us and we could see how a group would have a great time at the SeaMore. We're thrilled to have found a getaway that seems to make time stop, in the best way possible. Thanks Melissa and family for your hospitality and warmth!

Our May getaway.

We really enjoyed our stay. The layout of the living areas flowed very well. This was a family trip with my daughter and her husband and dog, my grandson, my brother and his granddaughter, and me. The fishing was not great but the pier and covered area were great and we stayed out there as much as possible. There were plenty of extras there, extra fishing poles, landing net, canoe with paddles, games.... I had never stayed where pets were allowed. There was no doggie smell whatsoever. Melissa was readily available, just a phone call away which was very helpful. We will stay again.

Very peaceful and beautiful.

Although we didn't have the best of weather, we had a nice and relaxing stay. The house is beautiful inside with everything you need for a rainy day inside. The house is a good ways away from any city but close enough if you need something, which is exactly what we wanted. We loved fishing off the dock every evening and dolphin watching every morning. We ate dinner in New Bern which is only 40 minutes away and is a neat historic town with lots of nice places to eat. Also the pizza at Little Italy in Alliance was great! My husband is Italian, from NY and is super picky about his pizza and he loved it. We will definitely be back. Thank you very much Melissa.

Private oasis

I had a last minute request request that Melissa graciously accommodated for us, which we really appreciated. She was great! This place is very family friendly and it's quite private, so were happy to let the kids run around as they pleased. Kitchen is well appointed and there are games, water toys, books. etc. Just be sure to pack in your favorite groceries (local options are limited) and you'll be all set!

Thankful for our time here!

My family went for the week of Thanksgiving. It was absolutely fabulous and so relaxing. The house was well appointed and had everything we needed. The owner was very attentive to our questions. My daughter loved paddling around in the canoe that was provided. We had a great day of fishing (puppy drum and trout). The views were amazing. Would 100% go back again.

About the host

Hosted by Melissa Siegel

Host profile image
My name is Melissa and I have the pleasure of being a mom to three teenage girls. We live in New York an hour and half north of New York City known as the Hudson valley. Here we have beautiful mountain and valley views along the Hudson River.

I am currently a teacher and health and wellness life coach. I have the opportunity to serve in an inner city school district where I have the privilege of teaching wellness, sports and fitness and health education to high school students.

My three daughters are very active in sports (volleyball, soccer, dance) and also play the cello, viola and piano. We also are a foster family for dogs until they find their forever home. I spend much of my non-work time taking them to and from events and practices. It’s a complete whirlwind of organized chaos.

We love the outdoors and spending time hiking, taking care of our chickens and our dog, Charlie (who is a rescue) In the last several years I have gained hobbies in gardening, herbal remedies, essential oils, all natural homemade things like making toothpaste (girls still don’t like it), and reading; especially in the realm of wellness. These all provide me with great peace, knowledge and understanding which also helps me to be better at my vocation. I have always had a love for baking and cooking so adopting these newer hobbies seamlessly infused into my life and the girls.

We named it The SeaMore because of its panoramic views of the inter-coastal water, along with country roads that we love biking and walking on. We absolutely come here to see more. We love watching the dolphins and catching crabs. We watch the fishermen crabbing and the occasional barge go by. The view never gets old. We walk from our yard onto our dock where we jump in and swim. We have truly found our happy place and look forward to sharing our “happy” with you.

Why they chose this property

I bought this home the end of 2020 and have been doing updates throughout. 2021 brought new floors, appliances and lighting. Now that 2023 is upon us new granite countertops are being installed along with a new water softener system. I am very excited about continually updating this home. I think it's important to provide my guests with an updated, modern home so that it truly is a home away from home for you.

Breathtaking sunrises, stunning waterfront views from your private deck or pier. Wildlife: blue heron, dolphins, pelicans, eagles, ospree, and deer, just to name a few of the sights you are apt to see. Well known for it's fishing the pier is a great place to cast your line for some red and black drum, flounder, speckled trout, croaker, Spanish mackerel as well as an abundance of blue crabs. A wonderful place to find your inner peace whether is it fishing, hunting, birdwatching, bike riding, quiet walks or just relaxing on the sun deck, The SeaMore has something for everyone.

What makes this property unique

This house has its own private dock with boat ramp and powered boat lift.
