Very relaxing vacation!

This property was clean, comfortable, very attractive, on a beautiful large pond, and suited perfectly to our large extended family to get together and have a fun and relaxing time. We had most of our kids and their spouses and three grandchildren, and everybody was able to relax and enjoy time in the pond and up in North Conway. It was a great time to spend some time together. I would highly recommend it! Steve was also very friendly and easy to work with.

Tranquility Lodge

The house was beautiful, peaceful and very clean. All amenities were accounted for. The pond is very pretty but pretty steep hill to get to it. Handy to have kayaks, canoes provided. Quiet location in short distance to major sights. Communication w owner was great- very responsive. Lighting in house is pretty dim but otherwise, very nice weekend and no complaints!

Tranquility Lodge

The name of the property says it all! It surely was tranquil and peaceful. The lodge itself was gorgeous, everything you could need for your stay. Plenty of room for our three children, their children and spouses and my husband and myself. The grounds of the lodge were beautiful with plenty of room for the kids to play and explore! Close to North Conway where we traveled a couple of times, and the beach at Eaton Village was perfect for all! I would definitely recommend Tranquility Lodge for a lovely family vacation !

Relaxing NH mountain region getaway

We had a great family vacation, enjoyed swimming in the pond and visiting local attractions like Diana’s baths and Attitash. It is a steep walk down to the water but not a problem for those who are active. Cabin is spacious with plenty of room for everyone to gather or spread out if so desired. The biggest surprise we had was NO mosquito’s which made evenings enjoying the outdoors pleasant.

Such a beautiful home!

The home is just adorable! Kitchen was perfect for cooking while we were vacationing with small children (owner has everything you might need!) Large table inside and outside so we were all able to sit down together. Large open room in lower level was great for letting kids spread toys and play. Close to shopping and hiking and fishing. Steve was so great answering all of our questions and giving very clear info related to using the home. The only thing we will do differently next year is stay a little longer!

Beautiful property, perfect location.

I stayed here for a fall "ladies weekend" with my family. This house was perfect. We ventured out during the day to enjoy nearby North Conway, and took a drive to some gorgeous hiking trails along the Kancamangus Highway. In the evenings we gathered to cook dinner in the kitchen, which was appointed with all of the amenities needed. We relaxed around the fireplace with games, enjoying each other's company in the perfectly rustic surroundings. The details in the home are beautiful, especially the stunning fireplace and staircase. Sleeping accommodations were well suited for our group of 8. I would definitely return, the home and area have something to offer for everyone.

Perfect getaway for the quintessential New England experience with friends and family!

We spent a long weekend with my family of five, another family of four, and the grandparents. Plenty of room for everyone to sleep comfortably and have their own bathroom. Large kitchen to prepare meals and eat together, and then enjoy s'mores/bbq out in the backyard overlooking a gorgeous view. Kids had a blast playing games and unplugging, while the grown ups hung out and relaxed. We took some kids to Storyland which is a short drive away, while the older kids went canoeing. Perfect getaway! Clean and coolest construction of a cabin you'll see. Very talented builder for sure!

A Tradition of Great Visits to Tranquility

For the fifth consecutive summer, we have rented Tranquility Lodge for our family (Lauren and I are the grandparents, our two daughters and spouses, and their two children each for a total of 10). One family takes the lower floor, we are on the ground floor, and the other family is in the loft. We come back because the Lodge loves up to its name and is a recreational retreat for the whole family. We use the beach at Crystal Lake, the kayaks and canoe on Long Pond, and the lawn and gardens for games, campfires, and relaxation. The owner is totally responsible and trustworthy. For example, this year we had a small hitch with the water system and the owner appeared within hours to fix it. Our family has come to regard Tranquility Lodge as our summer home for a week. Our grandkids still love Storyland, and we also do blueberry picking, hikes up Foss Mountain, and in August, great viewing of the meteor showers! The lodge is well-appointed and served our family of 10 very well with all the kitchen appliances, etc. that we needed to move right in and set up housekeeping. It is our plan to continue this tradition as long as the families can travel together.

Relaxing Family Winter getaway at Tranquility Lodge

We just returned from an amazing weekend at Tranquility Lodge. Many years ago my parents had a little chalet in Eaton, so when we found this place it was an opportunity for our family to take a nostalgic trip back in time to a place we all loved. This house is gorgeous and, though the photos on website are great, the place is even larger and more beautiful in person. We had three generations staying there; there was plenty of room for all 12 people to gather in front of the stone fire each evening. The open concept allowed for us to feel like we were all together yet have our own space. From the well appointed kitchen to the very large dining table and comfy sitting room, we were all comfortable cooking great meals and relaxing together. We took turns pulling the little ones (and Grandma) up and down the driveway on sleds, and also found a decent sledding hill down the road a bit. In the evening the kids were cozy and warm inside playing board games around the table with their cousins while the adults decompressd with a bottle of wine and marveled at the architecture. We verntured into town once to go on a sleigh ride...then raced right back to our winter haven. Not one person even attempted to turn on the television. A big thank you to the owners for sharing your beautiful lodge with us. We'll be back!

Great spot for a family get together!

We chose the Tranquility Lodge to have a long weekend with my husband's family. There were 6 adults and 2 children. Tranquility Lodge was a perfect fit for us. Plenty of room and a great natural feel. It's close enough to town for shopping or night out if wanted. Unfortunately, it rained most of the time we were there, but it was relaxing to sit by the beautiful fireplace playing games or reading. Everything was provided to cook big meals at the lodge. We did go horseback riding near by and visited Mount Washington. Lots of activities to do in the area. We would choose it again for a family get together.

Charming & rustic - You will love it!

If you are looking for a rustic cabin feel with updated appliances and bathroom fixtures this is your place. This home is very clean and well maintained with lovely antique/country furnishings. The owners created a truely warm and inviting place. The decor was just perfect. There was plenty of space for all 8 adults and one baby. The central fieldstone fireplace made the evening gatherings a joy. The pond is small and pretty with the fall foliage. There is a canoe available as stated. The ride to NorthConway was about 15 minutes. It is a lovely scenic ride. The Kangamangus highway was not too far either and so this is s perfect place to stay if you'd like to take in some hiking trails. After a day of sightseeing we cooked our dinners at the lodge which was filled with all cookware and dinnerware that you would need. We all just loved this place. If you choose this spot, treat it gently so that it is in the same wonderful condition when I return some day! I would definately recommend this property to friends.

Summer Vacation in NH

Nice, well kept vacation rental in Eaton, NH. My wife and I rented Tranquility Lodge with my in-laws and 3 kids. We enjoyed spending early mornings fishing on the pond (we found large chain pickerel, bass, yellow perch & sunnies), campfires each night under a sky filled with brilliant stars and the milky way, breakfasts and dinners prepared in the well appointed kitchen, and relaxing on the back porch or the swing near the lake. A kid friendly rental. Nearby, we enjoyed swimming in Crystal Lake ("crystal" clear water), hiking up Foss Mt. (great panoramic 360 degree view), kids enjoyed visiting the Alpaca Farm in Eaton, my father in law and I enjoyed sporting clays at Green Mt. Shooting Preserve (boys liked driving the golf carts between stations), biking on local roads (better to get off 153 for biking excursions), driving up the Mt. Washington Auto Road (yikes), picnicking at Bretton Woods and riding the free chairlift for a view and drink at the top, "water sliding" and swimming at Jackson Falls, Hiking to Thompson Brooks Falls at Wildcat Mountain, outlets in North Conway, and exploring all there is to see in the White Mountains. We've rented many homes, so here's the pros and cons - PROS: nice home, nice surrounding property, Long Pond is nice, great stars, campfires & s'mores, well appointed kitchen, Crystal Lake pass (swimming here is really nice), off the beaten track enough yet 25 minutes to groceries, outlets, etc. CONS: no air conditioning (not hot the week we attended or in evenings but my mother-in-law is addicted), no use of laundry facilities for guests (for families with kids, laundry is a daily routine and makes packing easier), Route 153 runs along Long Pond so occasional cars can be seen / heard from the fire pit and lake. Note: if you rent this home, the owner requests all deposits and payments be sent to a P.O. Box and the actual home address cannot be located on Mapquest or similar. This put us off a bit when arranging a vacation via the internet. Also, our minor change to the rental agreement re: final payment was 'ignored' (we changed final payment due date to 2 weeks before our arrival as opposed to 2 months) and despite our initialing this clearly (1st page of agreement) and our deposit being cashed we were advised we missed our final payment... This was a "first" for us and for the owner and after a long conversation on the telephone we resolved. House exists and it is a very nice place to vacation! Rent w/ confidence.

Winter Family Trip

We just stayed at the Tranquility Lodge for the first time a couple of weeks ago. Our group consisted of 3 couples and all of our children (ages 4 months to 8yrs). The pictures actually do this place justice, unlike some of the other properties. The owners were very informative and ensured our stay was comfortable and relaxing. The property has a genuine Great Outdoors feel to it. Only 10 minutes from N. Conway, we enjoyed tubing at Cranmore and the indoor water park at Kahuna Laguna. If the snow conditions were a little better, we would have spent some time skiing at King Pine (only 2 minutes away). Great spot.

Seeking Tranquility? Here's your Lodge!

Lauren and I brought our family (2 daughters, 2 sons-in-law, and 4 grandchildren) to Tranquility Lodge for a week in August. We fell in love with the place upon arrival. Designed in the style of a classic Adirondack lodge, the furniture and decorations were carefully chosen to take us back nearly a century. And yet, all of the modern conveniences assure that the visitors will be comfortable and relaxed. The kitchen appliances are large and modern; the icemaker kept up with 10 people, the gas oven and stove were efficient, and the dishwasher and microwave were ready for our crowd. Everything was exactly as promised. It is hard to tell from the photos just how beautiful the grounds are. The full porch off the dining room is large and seats many people. The backyard a few steps away is flat and filled with tables and chairs. We had sunny and pleasant weather, and we were able to play bocce on the side lawn and sit in the backyard. The inside offers three distinct levels to allow three families to have separate spaces if they wish. In addition to the kitchen (with table and seating) and the dining room, there are two adjoining rooms: a TV room and a sitting room. A great deal of care has been given to have a unified, natural wood style throughout the lodge. The downstairs features a “play area” in addition to 2 bedrooms (bunk beds in one and a queen bed in the other), including many toys and games for the kids. The WI-FI functioned well without interruption or any resetting and the television has cable (Red Sox fans, rejoice). We were able to keep up with the world and still feel that we got away from things. The property was very clean and well maintained, and a cleaning fee (included in the rental) meant that we could leave without deep cleaning or vacuuming – just leave things in order and do the city-required recycling. The owner was available throughout the visit by cell phone and was prompt to answer logistical questions. We left as Hurricane Irene was approaching and we worked with the owner to be sure the property was ready. Eaton has a lot to recommend it. Although it is truly about 40 minutes from STORYLAND in Glen NH and about 25 minutes from North Conway, this is really an advantage. North Conway can be very crowded and filled with traffic. At Tranquility Lodge, we had no hustle and bustle and very few sounds of traffic. We felt that we had a private vacation. We'll be back!

Amazing Property - Tucked Away, Close to Everything!

Everything in this listing was spot on and we can't wait to return. Property was very tidy and new and the photos gave a very accurate reflection of what it actually looks like. We loved how this was off the beaten path but still close to North Conway and other activities. Definitely use the guest pass to Crystal Lake for swimming and a picnic.

Why they chose this property

Eaton remains an unspoiled nature paradise. Our pristine lakeside site nestled in a chain of lakes well off but close to the beaten path from Boston to Jackson & Northern Presidentials was an ideal location to build a vintage 1920s mini version of a grand old NH guest lodge.

Easy access for arrival and departure avoids all traffic and noise polution from the densly traveled N. Conway commercial mecca 10 miles to our north.

What makes this property unique

Tranquility, rest, relaxation, campfire, sunsets, outside lakeview dining, moonlight swims and walks, listening to the brook, music, visits & sharing with friends and family.
