Lovely home with a beautiful view. Plenty of space for all 9 of us. Kitchen is well stocked. Sort of a challenge with 9 people and only 2 bathrooms but we made it work.
Perfect for our family gathering. There is nothing that has not been thought of at this home. Great communication with the owner. I would recommend this home hands down.
The Nest had everything we needed for a family stay for our son’s wedding. Owner was prompt with communication and flexible. The view from the covered front porch is gorgeous. Hope to visit again!

I highly recommend this place if you need time out in countryside. It's quiet and the view from the best is amazing. I really like the hanging rock rapter observatory which is around 13-15 minutes drive from the nest. The view from their is mesmerizing. We could see sunset and full moon rise.
Amazing! Excellent place. Completely stocked (esp, excellent cookware), comfortable, roomy, homey decor! The views from porch were awesome way to start and end the day! The location is surrounded by the most gorgeous scenery and so many trails to choose from! As well as other activities like the caverns.
Owners are gems! Very friendly, accommodating and helpful! One of our group had some car issues leaving and they stopped by to see if could help! Their kindness was greatly appreciated!
I could go on and on… however, check it out… you will not be disappointed and will want to give 5+++ stars, too!
Our group of 3 couples from our church, thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the nest. We spent the majority of our time at the house, but also visited moncove lake and paint bank. We had everything we needed to cook our meals, comfortable beds to sleep in and activities at the house to enjoy. We played cornhole, built a fire and enjoyed a spectacular view from the front porch. We drove to Union to watch the Farmers day fireworks. The ladies liked the sauna. The owner was quick to reply to questions and the property was clean. Wish we had brought our binoculars to spot the wildlife across from us a little easier but it was fun none the less. We actually got ready to leave early and sat on the front porch enjoying our last half hour before we departed. Our trip was awesome and we may make this a yearly destination. Thank you for our weekend at the nest!
This is our second stay at The Nest. It's a beautiful home, has lots of space, is very clean, and the front porch is perfect and where we spent most of our time. The bedrooms are spacious and very comfortable. The kitchen provides all amenities.
Definitely will be back soon!
Great place to stay with plenty of room to move around. The views are amazing and the property is well appointed. Very nice cornhole boards, but it's really all about the amazing view and proximity to cool trails. Bring some binoculars.
The water is good!
We really enjoyed sitting on the front porch; the view is great. The kitchen is well equipped. The living room and bedrooms are comfortable. 200 years ago, people spent big money to visit this region for the mineral springs; in this house the mineral water comes out of the faucet.
This home was absolutely beautiful! Fully stocked kitchen, bathrooms, and bedrooms. Toys for the kids! (Our boys loved the Lincoln logs)! The view is amazing! We had an absolute amazing vacation with the perfect mix of rest and relaxation and exploring!
We loved our stay at the nest! It was cozy, comfortable and the view from the porch was gorgeous! The kitchen is great and very well equipped! Thomas is super responsive and very accommodating! Will book again for sure if in the area!
Beautiful property, lovely views, huge kitchen! A great place to host a big pile of people, as we did for our son’s graduation from Virginia Tech this weekend. Blacksburg is a hike from here, but the drive is beautiful (and sporty!), and the home and its valley is so restful. We loved it!
My family had a wonderful time at The Nest. The house was super clean and the kitchen was well equipped. Plus lots of extras, like cozy robes and individual sinks in every room, as well as wifi, laundry and games for us to play. It was comfortable and spacious, perfect for a large gathering and cozy enough for two. We will return again for the night sky with its thousands of stars and views of the countryside. It was the perfect getaway and we will be back to gather together as a family and further explore the area, especially the lake near by and the aviary.
The pictures don't do this house...or the view...justice. It was perfect for us. We had plenty of room and didn't feel on top of each other. Second floor has all the bedrooms, a bathroom, and small kitchenette area with dining table. First floor has very comfortable living room furniture, bathroom, laundry room, a large kitchen, and huge dining table. Gorgeous covered porch to enjoy the spectacular view. There was a huge herd of deer that came to visit each morning and early evening. If you're looking to disconnect, unwind, and enjoy the quiet this is the place for you. Make sure to visit the quaint Cheese and More store up the road. We traveled about 40 minutes to Lewisburg...what a cute little town with lots of mom and pop stores. We will definitely be back!
Home away from home without all fuss. Beautiful view from the front porch.
Quite, relaxing. Great for large gatherings
