Very nice accommodation not far from Jamestown the owner greeted me when i arrived and coffee and snacks were available I would recommend this great opportunity for anyone that is going to Jamestown
So Clean! I love how they are refurbishing an old school. The bathroom might be small, but all the little things, like crayon band aids & make up wipes really put this place above a hotel stay!
This rental was so unique, clean and charming. I thought it was such a smart way to re-use space - turning an elementary school into rooms that have all the modern upgrades as a hotel room plus much more - way bigger. Loved it!
This is the second time I’ve stayed here before a big fishing trip, and it’s perfect and very clean! Mrs. Denise is amazing and takes great care of us. Anyone curious about checking it out, should most definitely do it!
This is such a beautiful property! It was so fun to stay at and explore. I truly Loved it. The sheets were super soft, the room was adorable and the pubic spaces were so cute as well. There's a large parking lot (like you'd see at a school 😜) which was great for the boaters who stayed there at the same time as us. I'd Love to go back.
What a unique experience! We really enjoyed our stay and will stay again. It is SUPER clean, the hostess is super nice & she has thought of every little detail. We were very comfortable during our whole stay. We have enjoyed telling everyone that we stayed in a school for our stay in KY. As I said before, we will book again.
There is no better place to stay if you are fishing Cumberland Lake or especially the Cumberland River tailwater. There is a huge parking lot with electricity for charging batteries. Union Chapel Lodge is immaculately clean, the guest kitchen is well-equipped, and the hostess is the best. The rural surroundings are beautiful and peaceful.
Off the beaten path and very quiet. Lovely spot and cool redo of the school. The bathroom was a little funky, but the host made sure we knew that before we came. So communication was excellent.
We only stayed one night, but multiple nights here would have been delightful.
Comfortable, clean and friendly atmosphere. If you are looking for privacy or not this is the place for you! I was amazed at the kitchen, school like atmosphere was cool. Take a ride down memory lane and give it a try. You'll be glad you did! 👍

The school is in a beautiful rural setting with cows on rolling hills surrounding it. The owner has taken great care with the tiniest details to make the place and guests' stays perfect. She made herself available for any questions and tips about the place and the area. It was exceptionally clean. The best quality and most unique property we found for access to Burkesville. We will be back and recommend it to anyone looking for accommodations in the area.
I needed a place to stay to watch my son fish a collegiate bass tournament. I found this on VRBO and wanted to see what staying in a renovated school would be like.
It’s a very nice property, and the property owners are extremely helpful and kind. It was an interesting experience- it definitely has a look and feel that takes you back in time. I was comfortable and close to where I needed to be for the day. There is not much else in the area, but some internet searching and a little drive will put you at some good restaurants.
I have already recommended the property for future events at the lake, and I look forward to visiting again.
A chance to stay in a historic schoolhouse- well, of course! A bit off the beaten path, but it was so worth the drive from Somerset where we were visiting family. As we entered the schoolhouse doors, we were greeted by our lovely host, Denise, and given a quick history and tour. The furnishings and decor are lovely. They have thought of everything- a kitchen with everything you need - for me that was a coffee maker and snacks - in what was once an office. As we went to our ‘ classroom’ we loved the antique furnishings and collections. Our room was furnished beautifully with a well appointed bathroom. The concrete school house walls and heavy doors ensured a very quiet visit. It was a unique experience, sleeping in a schoolhouse- and we plan to make it our go to when visiting family. Denise welcomed us to walk the grounds and explore as much as we wanted. Everything you need and at a great price! What’s not to love!
Love that the look and feel of being in a school was maintained yet still very comfortable. Delightful host greated us upon arrival. Nice little kitchen just for the guests, well stocked with snacks, coffee, tea, water and everything you need should you want to cook a meal. You also have a small refrigerator and microwave in room. Having the shower in the bedroom vs in the bathroom was a bit odd and could be uncomfortable if traveling with a child or another person but for a couple it wasn't a problem. Just a personal preference, but a rug or at least throw rugs by the bed would be nice. Warmer on the feet and helps soften the look of yhe room. Overall, a most enjoyable stay. If ever in the area again I'd definitely stay there.
This place is perfect for a serene getaway and convenience for fishing on the Cumberland River. Accommodations are everything you could ask for a true homey feel. The owners are so kind and accommodating as well. We definitely plan on staying here again for our next fishing trip.
