Beautiful ranch house and property

We had a very relaxing stay at the ranch house. The house had everything we needed and was close to wineries and the beach. We will book again next time we are in the area.

Great Getaway

Beautiful home that is 15 minutes away from the center of town but couldn’t feel more serene and remote. If you like waking up to cows mooing then this is exactly where you want to stay.

Not as advertised

While the house itself was "quirky" but fine overall, and the surrounding countryside was idyllic, the description of the amenities as listed in VRBO is the perfect example of "bait and switch". First, if you need or want some form of modern electronic communication (internet or cell phone service), you will be very disappointed. You can check your email but that's about it. Any kind of video conferencing, especially if you are on a Virtual Private Network, is not possible. There is a 2' by 2' square area on the front lawn that you can use to get access to your cell phone service. Standing there getting watered by the sprinkler system does not help. Second, while the site description clearly indicates that you have access to 500 acres of ranchland, you do not. We were informed of this when were up on a hilltop in back of the house watching that beautiful sunset over the Central Coast when Mike, the rather incorrigible "Ranch Manager", drove up in his white jeep and told us that we were trespassing and that if we did not leave, immediately, he would "...call the sheriff." When we informed him that we had rented the property for the coming weeks, we were told that it "....was only the house. Not the land." When we discussed this situation with the property manager, he confirmed Mike's statement. In a follow-up conversation, the property manager did say that Mike would "...turn a blind eye...." should we decide to go for a walk. No bikes, mountain or moto, would be allowed. That's why we were there. To make matters worse, Mike would, for the rest of our stay, park on the dirt road in front of the house, staring at us, to verify that we followed his directive. Ultimately, given the fact that working on-line could not be pursued along with the mandate confining us to the immediate house property, we left six days early. Did we get any kind of refund for time lost? No. We will never go back.

Country Escape

We rented this house for a family gathering. The house is large and we'll suited for a group of people. The kitchen is well stocked. Very nice sitting areas outside with lots of games and things for the kids to do. The hot tub was a hit with everyone. WiFi was sketchy at times. House is located in a rural area but close to many wineries, the airport and town

Pleasant

The vineyard was lovely, and the house was clean and spacious. Overall the stay was very pleasant! There were just a couple things that really would have made our trip great. The internet signal was very weak, so just keep that in mind when planning your activities. There was pepper but no salt or cooking oil, so we had to do a second trip to the grocery store to get basic cooking supplies. My friends and I were also disappointed that there was no piano as shown in the photos, as we were hoping to have some singalong sessions. We did enjoy the other amenities such as the hot tub and ping pong table, though. Thank you so much for a wonderful stay!

Family Retreat

We had 3 generations here for Thanksgiving. The house layout with separated bedrooms provided good privacy and space for everyone. Lots of hikes nearby, and easy to use in rainy weather.

BEAUTIFUL LOCATION, house is a bit tired

The location is amazing, you are in the middle of nowhere, surrounded by huge Sycamores and rolling green hills, with cows grazing! The house is tired and in need of an update. It also is really only a 3 bedroom not 4. It has an OPEN loft with a bed (no privacy). We had four families expecting to each have their own room, it wasn't fun deciding who got which room. A better description on the website would have been nice. The master bedroom/bathroom is Huge, the problem is there are no window covering in the bathroom facing the driveway. We had to pin sheets up over the windows just to take a shower. There were kids playing outside that might have been scarred! you might want to invest in some shades. The wood burning bbq is a plus, but we had to buy our own axe to make kindling to get the bbq started, and to light a fire in the fireplace. It didn't really matter to us, but the house is surrounded by broken down equipment, an overgrown and broken green house, and scattered debris. A cleanup would be a plus. The bathrooms were clean, but there were cobwebs on most ceilings, and the carpet could have used some more time with the vacuum. I don't think I would have been this disappointed if the description of the place on VRBO had been more accurate, and there were shades in the master bathroom.

During your drive in to this property, everything else fades away. Amazing.

This is an amazing property that is private and secluded from the rest of the World a truly refreshing ‘experience’. Very large and comfortable home with open floor plan. Main house has two bedrooms and a loft and then a one bedroom with bathroom semi-attached to main house. This is a very clean property and well maintained. I would also seriously suggest getting all you need for your visit (wine, beer, food) as once you arrive, you really won’t want to leave for anything. It’s that relaxing and peaceful! We will definitely be back again.

Spectacular!!!

The house was everything we hoped for and much, much more. Rented the house with another family (so there were 9 of us plus a dog), house had plenty of room for all of us stretch out and then some. All the parents in our party are Cal Poly alum and we meet up annually in SLO/Central Coast for the past 8 years. We've rented many properties over the years, but this has to be one of our all time favorites. The house/property just oozes everything that is great about the Central Coast. Kids loved all the amenities, from the pool table, to ping pong, to the hot tub. We loved having dinner out on the porch every night and I especially loved my morning coffee on the porch every morning. Very quiet, peaceful, and beautiful location. Only complaint from the kids was that the WiFi was really slow, but the whole point of a vacation is to disconnect. It wasn't a negative for me and they adapted pretty quickly. Property manager was very accommodating and responsive. We can't wait to go back in the future!!!

Beautiful & Peaceful

We absolutely loved staying at this property! It was outstanding! There were 9 of us on a family reunion there and it was such an impressive property! It was neat seeing quail, blue jays, woodpeckers and many other birds, butterflies all around. It felt so relaxing and away from the rat race, but yet not too far from stores. There were many wineries around with beautiful vineyards. We had a problem with the coffee maker and David was able to replace it the same day. The beds were comfortable as well. We especially enjoyed the bbq using oak so we could grill steaks and bbq ribs. We had fun playing pool and ping pong as well as enjoyed the hot tub. If you want to get away and relax, this place is for you! The WiFi wasn’t the best nor was cell reception, but it was actually a blessing and felt nice to get off the grid! We will definitely come back again!

Perfect Family Hang-Out

Wishing there were more than 5 stars, this was a great place to meet with immediate and extended family. Woodwork is outrageous and bathroom features reminiscent of Madonna Inn. Grounds are well kept and inviting for outdoor activities. Thanks for allowing us the weekend. We won’t torget it..!

Peaceful retreat

For anyone who wants to get away from the crowds and yet be just a few minutes drive from SLO or Arroyo Grande, this is the place for you. This is a beautiful home in the countryside, close to several lovely wineries and vineyards. Our family of 6 enjoyed the large rooms, the various sitting arrangements (inside and outside), the pool table, the well equipped kitchen, the comfortable beds and the peace and quiet! We really had a great time relaxing!

Family wedding weekend.

My family stayed at this property over Memorial Day Weekend recently, all of us in town to attend a wedding. The property is beautiful, expansive and also very quiet & serene. The home is an impressive ranch style with classic California rustic touches, very spacious and great for entertaining!! The 3 bedrooms are nice & private + loft with full bed and pullout couch. The home provides a very open and comfortable living room + kitchen area, enormous stone fireplace, perfect for all guests to be together to visit & relax. The property provides privacy while also in close proximity to wonderful wineries and in our case close to the wedding venue. We would definitely book this venue again!!

The best!

Seriously couldn’t have asked for better accommodations. I really appreciate that David was on top of correspondence every time I sent a message. The house was gorgeous and the property was amazing which allowed for peaceful walks/hikes. We enjoyed sitting by the fire, hanging in the hot tub and playing pool/ping pong. Perfect place to keep young kids entertained and being mostly 1 level was super convenient for my father who isn’t able to climb stairs. The outside property was also perfect for our Easter egg hunt! This was the first time my entire family has gotten together in about 15 yrs and we can’t wait to come back! Such a memorable wknd. Thank you!

Great location for a change of scenery.

We stayed here with 10 adults. The scenery is breathtaking. This is a good location for a group looking to hang out at the house and cook. It's 15 minutes from Pismo Beach, and about 25 to downtown San Luis Obispo. It was nice to feel so secluded, surrounded by greenery and cows. The reason I didn't give it four stars: it was a bit musty smelling on arrival but cleared out after a day. There isn't an up to date music system (only a cd player connected to a tv with no cds available) so bring your own portable speaker. It could have been dusted a little better. All in all, if I were looking for a private place surrounded by nature with a lot of near by options, I would definitely stay here again, and recommend it to anyone looking for something similar. Bonus points for looking at grazing cows while showering, and the hooting owls at night. The house representative was VERY easy to communicate with before and during our stay. Lastly, the cell reception wasn't great, but the wifi made it easier. Once you hit the main road, reception kicks in. This was not an inconvenience for anyone in our group.

Beautiful, Quiet and Fun!

We celebrated Christmas at this beautiful property, enjoying the quiet beauty and the many amenities - fireplace, hot tub, ping pong table, pool table, piano, and a well-equipped kitchen. Sitting on this porch feels like we're a million miles away, but restaurants, wineries, beaches, and shopping are an easy 15 minute drive. The home is large, warm, and spacious, with lots of private rooms and nooks that allowed for our family to spread out, without ever being far away. The property manager was outstanding, responding to our inquiries immediately, and always available and accommodating! A perfect holiday home!
