Quite family retreat

Common space was really large and great for hanging out. Easily accessible by those with mobility limitations, my 99 year old grandmother was able to come over for dinner and very comfortable navigating the space. Parking was right by the door which was very convenient in the snow. House was warm even when the outdoor temperature was single digits.

A wonderful oasis

One of the best Vrbo stays that we have had. The property is peaceful and calm. The amenities are abundant and the hosts are responsive and kind. We will always try to book this listing when we go to Maine. We are so happy we stayed here.

Wonderful place to stay

This was a great stay for our family! The home is a beautiful place with thoughtful touches throughout. It was close to amenities, yet the location was very private. Our kids had plenty of room to play outside, and upstairs in the game room. The kitchen was well-stocked and the outdoor patio was a perfect spot for a meal or to relax by the gas fire pit at night. In addition, the hosts were great to work with and provided timely information for a smooth check-in. I HIGHLY recommend this place!

First stop in Maine

Lovely home nestled in woods by the creek. Fun to sit on the dock and use the kayaks. The fire table on back deck was a relaxing place to sit in evening. Home was clean and the people of Gardiner very friendly! Ainslies market had great sandwiches and Depot was nice local spot for dinner in town.

quiet restful

We were here with our grandkids and really enjoyed our stay. The deck provided a great place for hanging out and enjoying the fire ring. The kids enjoyed the water. We were warned that the water edge was muddy and it was but the kids figured out how to get in and also enjoy the kayaks. The kids also loved the game room. I would recommend this place for anyone with older kids because their beds were upstairs.

Relaxing getaway with tremendous hosts!

Our family had a wonderful stay at this cabin! The kids loved the upstairs games, which kept them off their screens and occupied for hours. Fishing off the dock was incredible. The best way to describe the property is serenity. Rob was an awesome host, quick to respond to any of our questions. We highly recommend!

Family trip to Maine

We had a fantastic stay with our 2 teens and middle schooler. The attention to detail in the house is outstanding and we all had fun playing shuffle board and air hockey, along with fishing and kayaking. Took a day trip to Funtown Splashtown USA and did some shopping in downtown Gardiner. Note the Buffalo wings at The Depot are out of this world!

Idyllic

I rented the quiet waterfront from Rob for 5 total friends in order to have an “unplugged” weekend - no phones, no internet, just friends spending time together. This cabin home was perfect - it is just close enough to town (~5 minutes) that we could still grab a bite without getting lost, had kayaks and canoes so we could spend time on the water, and cooking equipment for us to grill and bake. Outside of some boats passing by, we were secluded. Rob responded to every message quickly and respectfully. Great stay.

Corner of Paradise

Such an amazing home in a serene setting. Centrally located to go in any direction and take part in what Maine has to offer. The home is well equipped with all that you would need from silverware to games to kayaks! We thoroughly enjoyed our time! The owners were great in responding and we loved it!! Our favorite part about it…. The back porch!!

Outlandishly Beautiful

As soon as you walk in, the views are amazing. The back deck, is awesome because it rained all day on Saturday when we were there and we did not get wet because the overhang of the loft protect you from the weather. The deck fire pit is tremendous. We had it going all weekend long. Very spacious. Cool pictures on the spiral staircase. Thoroughly enjoyed our stay. Small college reunion weekend. Lotta fun would definitely go back again multiple times. We are already talking about when we are going back.

Wonderful Weekend Getaway

This was a short getaway with my college-aged daughter to see the beautiful fall colors. From this location we were driving distance to some great hiking trails, quaint towns, and local seasonal fall festivals. The house had everything we needed and more including a shuffle board table, air hockey, kayaks, and canoes. We just needed more time to enjoy all the amenities and plan on coming back.

LOVED OUR STAY HERE

What an incredible, memorable experience celebrating my son’s high school graduation. Rob was wonderful — answered all my questions promptly and thoroughly. The cabin was perfect — very clean, spacious, and handicapped accessible (which was our first priority). The cabin was easy to get to but yet was so peaceful and private. We enjoyed our time on the deck overlooking the water, exploring the state and just hanging out. Felt like home. I wouldn’t change a thing about this experience. We will come here again!

Divine Deck!

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay this little piece of Maine heaven. As soon as we walked through the door, we felt at home. We spent a majority of our time on the deck: morning coffee, afternoon reading, evening stargazing. We were fortunate to have outstanding weather, but if it did rain, you can still enjoy the outdoors on the covered section of the deck. Rob, the owner, is attentive and great to deal with. Although we didn't have children with us, we could see this being a great getaway destination for a family. Great location with easy access to Freeport, Portland, and the Maine Cabin Masters' Kennebec Cabin Company in Manchester. You won't be disappointed if you book this property!

Wondeful family getaway!!

We had such an amazing time at this property. It was the perfect setting for our family as it provides seclusion, water front access, kayaks/canoe, but also offered many modern amenities that many cabins in the area lack. The game loft provided many fun options for our kids and the wifi and smart tv allowed for some relaxation time after long days out playing, canoeing, and fishing. We caught lots of sunfish off of the dock and the kids loved that! The cabin is stocked with many board games, books, and just about anything you could need. We cannot wait to stay here again!

About the host

We both love travel, and enjoying everything Maine has to offer. Being from New England, we never tire of everything it has to offer, from wildlife, beautiful summers along with scenic foliage in the fall, exploring new towns, and local shops & restaurants.

Why they chose this property

Being our home we also spend some free time in, we wanted to create a space that has every amenity necessary for a great and comfortable stay. The reason we love this property, is the combination of having a large, quiet setting with limited view of neighbors, while having the luxury of being direct waterfront surrounded by plenty of trees. Our perfect day here consists of spending time on the water in a kayak/canoe/boat right from the property, and winding down either on the deck or yard by the fire pit while listening to music. Being 10 minutes from a variety of great local breweries and restaurants is a huge plus, along with being within an hour to Portland, and coastal towns such as Boothbay Harbor.

What makes this property unique

Free use of kayaks & canoe, large game room with shuffleboard, air hockey, and video games. Full bookshelf filled with books & games, there is plenty to do to keep yourself entertained!
