We really enjoyed our stay. We paid extra to heat the pool and upon arrival we learned there was an issue with some of the equipment. This was fixed the next morning and the host comped us a late checkout on our last day which was wonderful since our flight didn’t leave until 7 pm. We love PS and wouldn’t hesitate to stay here again on our next visit!
This was our family's first trip to Palm Springs and we were really excited to relax and have a few days hanging out beside the pool. Unfortunately a part broke the day we arrived and wasn't able to be repaired during our stay. Things such as this happen and are unforeseen. However we were very disappointed that there was no effort at all to rectify the situation. Maybe offer us a free night? Anything? We paid for a home with a pool and there is hundreds of options in the area. I did pay for pool heat and it was refunded before I arrived because that was included in the rental and you can't very well swim in November without the heat. I would have reached out and at least offered an apology not just - "You have been refunded for the heat" which I already had been at that time and the pool is useless without it.
Otherwise the property was lovely, very clean and had all the amenities one could want. We thought the area was nice and it was close to downtown so easy to go out for dinner and such. We did hear the airport but honestly it didn't bother us as I seen in other reviews.

Pictures are deceiving
First of all, this VRBO is owned and operated by LDS (Mormon church), and is even listed on google as a “Church of Latter Day Saints”.
The property was clean, and the Property Manager was an absolute pleasure to deal with, however there are a few things that need to be addressed. The pool never worked and we only got the hot tub to heat on the last day. There were stains on the patio furniture and on the concrete that weren’t very appealing. The grass was all dead and very, very soggy.
In the master shower the water temp was close to scalding the entire time and the bathroom fixtures were gross and broken, and need to be replaced.
The walls were scuffed up and the dining room furniture was rickety and dingy.
There wasn’t room to fit two cars in the garage due to some construction items left on the floor, and the side gate to the property would not lock.
We had to call the pool guys out three times before we got an answer as to why the pool wasn’t working, just sitting, stagnant water.
The landscaping is tired, and the patio furniture was faded and old from over exposure to the sun. The neighbors were also peeping Tom’s and we caught them peering though the bushes and commenting on the fire pit when we had it going. .
We had a different house booked way in advance of our annual trip to PS and it was cancelled on us quite suddenly about 2.5 weeks before we were supposed to leave. Thankfully this gem of a house was available. We couldn’t believe our luck. The house was spotless and well equipped. The pool and hot tub were amazing. We were so happy to spend the week there.
We brought our two dogs and they loved the spacious back yard that gave them room to run around. Also…actual lawn! It was a treat for sure.
Kevin checked us in on day of arrival and gave us a quick but concise overview of everything about the house. Also clear and quick communication via text leading up to the trip.
We feel like we lucked out in finding this gorgeous home!!

Air traffic noise is an issue
The house and pool were wonderful, no complaint, it's just that the airport is so close that each jet taking off does so almost overhead. So it was noisy. Not the owner's fault - all amenities were good.
It’s a classic, lovely MCM home. Super clean, a well stocked kitchen. The outdoor space - pool, spa and fire pit are great - and the mountain views are spectacular. Well located for activities, restaurants and shopping. Close to the airport too. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay!
Our 6-day stay with 4 friends overall was great.
The property is well situated to town, though due to it's northerly Palm Springs location can get very windy. We only experienced one day where it was too uncomfortable to be outside.
It is exactly as the images show--overall amazing with incredible mountain vistas. And designed by a noted mid-century architect.
However, we had a few issues that impacted our experience: Rust shards on the pool deck from decaying shade umbrella metal stands, a broken chaise, and inconsistent pool heat for an entire day despite paying for the upgrade.
Furthermore we saw and felt hairs on the sofas, and found a child's sock behind one of the cushions. So they could be better about their cleaning practices.
But the management was immediately responsive to our request for maintenance on the sink in the hallway bathroom and sent a repair person within 2 hours. We'd stay here again if some of the issues could be resolved.
Beautiful property with nice furnishings, comfortable beds, and a well stocked kitchen. The kids loved the many board games, lawn bowling and of course the pool. You will be very comfortable here! Property manager was very responsive.
We didn’t want to leave! We stayed for a week long trip as a family and enjoyed every minute. The house was clean, curated, had all the kitchen necessities and the house was in a great location. I highly recommend!
We were looking to stay in a mid-century modern house and this one did not disappoint. The house was nicely updated and very clean. The backyard was completely private with a great swimming pool. The management company was very responsive. Would highly recommend.
We cannot say enough amazing things about our stay at Mid-Century Retreat! From the moment of check-in with Kevin, who is kind, efficient, easily accessible when you have a question, to the lovely and well-appointed home which is sparkling clean, located in a quiet neighborhood, and a very short/easy drive to all the places you may want to go to in Palm Springs. Also, the home is beyond relaxing! Comfy couches, great tv and a beautiful outdoor seating area with the pool are perfect! We cannot wait to come back!
Place was well stocked, clean and perfect for a weekend getaway. E loved the location, minus the air traffic. The yard guys did wake us up at 7am on our first morning, we didn’t love that but not the end of the world. Close to downtown. Pool was perfect.
Went with two teen kids and wife. Clean house very quiet area. Many lawn games provided and we played croquet and bocce. Hot tub nice touch. Place had everything we needed. Close to grocery stores and not far to DT Palm. right near airport so departing planes go over you. Not a huge deal to us but you will hear them. Manager was responsive. Would go back there.
The house is incredibly beautiful - looks exactly like the photos! We spent a long girls’ weekend and loved lounging in the pool (we paid to have heated) and just hanging out, the house was so comfortable and had everything we needed! Super-comfy beds and bedding. Plenty of towels, and beach towels. Five loungers and plenty of outdoor seating! The attention to detail is incredible! The location is wonderful, close to airport, downtown and groceries. The house manager was easy to reach and even brought us additional items that had run out. I cannot say enough and would highly recommend!
Extremely clean hose. Had everything we needed for a 4 night stay. 10 min drive to downtown Palm Springs. Only cons were that they could use some new outdoor pool furniture.
