Tremendous Host

Staying in the large barn was a unique experience, but well worth the drive out there. Kris was extremely accommodating for our party texting intermittently to see if we needed anything throughout our stay. I would 100% recommend Kris and this property to anyone and look forward to coming back!

Best Kentucky Trip Ever

If you want to be off the beaten path, then this is your place. The place was a piece of heaven with wildlife greeting you. Centrally located to all the attractions we wanted to do. The host recommend in there book of attractions Olde Bloomfield Meeting Hall and it’s an absolute must. In fact we went there twice.

Fun Times, Beautiful Property

We had a ball, loads of laughs, beautiful fires (inside and outside), cozy, straight forward.... The place is exactly as described. Maybe its not as "clean" as some VRBOs but it's a barn! However, the beds were clean and comfortable. We plan to come back!

Beautiful Quiet getaway

Really enjoyed our stay here. Super quiet. Had anything we needed there in the kitchen. Deer and turkeys roaming around daily. Really enjoyed sitting around the fire pit at night. Little bit off the beaten path if you are wanting to get in to town daily. Overall great stay

A wonderful long weekend in Bourbon country

We really enjoyed being together out in the country, grilling, having a fire, and just being together. The place is very nice with an open floor plan and a full kitchen. We hiked the property, saw plenty of deer and turkey. Our gracious host gave us directions to Bernhiem Forrest which we enjoyed hiking as well. The place is about a half hour from many great distillery stops on the bourbon trail. My wife and I highly recommend Old Barton 1792 distillery as it is free and informative tour with tasting and chocolate sampling. If you're looking for a country get away with friends or family this is a wonderful stay!

Amazing Getaway!

This property is at the end of a country road that has scenic views on each side of the rolling hills and valleys of Kentucky. We saw wild turkeys and deer as we approached the property. Upon arriving at the building we were greeted by deer lounging in the side yard that wandered off after we arrived. When we entered the cabin we were greeted by the aroma of fresh cedar from the rough cut cedar ceiling and the table tops. The "Cabin" can be used as a banquet hall or wedding chapel and has seating for 64 people at hand made cedar tables. There is a full kitchen that had ample cookware for us to host a family dinner. The Master bedroom has a queen sized bed. The second bedroom has 2 bunk beds that appear to be hand built. The decorating is beautiful and a bit rustic. We really enjoyed the covered porch that runs the entire length of the East side of the building that came equipped with a slider bench, picnic tables and a propane grill. This property is fully equipped to handle a stay from a couple days to a couple weeks. Just bring your groceries and enjoy a peaceful stay surrounded by nature!

Nice Secluded Getaway

This property provides the best of what rural Kentucky has to offer. Beautiful green rolling hills, lots of wildlife to watch, and the best of all, no people to bother you! We rented this spot to get away from the hustle & bustle of Louisville and we were not disappointed! The cabin itself is a gorgeous piece of handiwork and soooo spacious! Kids will have plenty of space to run around. The bedrooms are very tiny, the beds fill them up, but it’s all you really need when you have that much space in the living area. I, also, have never had a more amazing property owner to deal with in all of my vacation renting experiences. Just the perfect amount of communication! Check in was simple, they were available via text for any questions, and even checked in a few times to make sure we were doing okay (apparently they aren’t far from the property). Some things to keep in mind when rent this place. You are in the country. There will be bugs. Expect it and you’ll be okay. Inside the cabin they were mostly dead ones, so we assumed the property was probably treated, which is good (we even picked a few out of our bed at nights, but i think they were just attracted to the one bedroom for some reason). Also, at the time we rented, there was no tv and no WiFi, which we expected the latter with how far out it is. It’s also not on city sewage, obviously, so it has a water pump, and it’s a little noisy. If your kids are light sleepers, they may be disturbed by the sound. However, mine are, but they still slept though it because they ran around so much during the day that sleeping was not an issue. The cabin was overall clean, but some of the white and light colored furniture and bedding was stained, nothing overly gross though. Once again, this kind of stuff is pretty typical of rustic cabin settings. Overall, it was a great experience! If space is what you are needing, this is the perfect place for you! We worried about the no tv thing but this cabin offers so much to do, it was not that big of a deal. We plan to come back, and if you chose to stay, I think you will, too!
