This property provides the best of what rural Kentucky has to offer. Beautiful green rolling hills, lots of wildlife to watch, and the best of all, no people to bother you! We rented this spot to get away from the hustle & bustle of Louisville and we were not disappointed!
The cabin itself is a gorgeous piece of handiwork and soooo spacious! Kids will have plenty of space to run around. The bedrooms are very tiny, the beds fill them up, but it’s all you really need when you have that much space in the living area.
I, also, have never had a more amazing property owner to deal with in all of my vacation renting experiences. Just the perfect amount of communication! Check in was simple, they were available via text for any questions, and even checked in a few times to make sure we were doing okay (apparently they aren’t far from the property).
Some things to keep in mind when rent this place. You are in the country. There will be bugs. Expect it and you’ll be okay. Inside the cabin they were mostly dead ones, so we assumed the property was probably treated, which is good (we even picked a few out of our bed at nights, but i think they were just attracted to the one bedroom for some reason). Also, at the time we rented, there was no tv and no WiFi, which we expected the latter with how far out it is. It’s also not on city sewage, obviously, so it has a water pump, and it’s a little noisy. If your kids are light sleepers, they may be disturbed by the sound. However, mine are, but they still slept though it because they ran around so much during the day that sleeping was not an issue.
The cabin was overall clean, but some of the white and light colored furniture and bedding was stained, nothing overly gross though. Once again, this kind of stuff is pretty typical of rustic cabin settings.
Overall, it was a great experience! If space is what you are needing, this is the perfect place for you! We worried about the no tv thing but this cabin offers so much to do, it was not that big of a deal. We plan to come back, and if you chose to stay, I think you will, too!
