Quiet house on 5 acres. Peaceful, quiet and hidden among the trees. Not unusual to see deer and turkey wandering on the property. House is located 1 mile from highway 14A on a well maintained gravel road, and 15 minutes from historic downtown Sturgis and Deadwood. Black Hills National Forest Trails minutes from the house. Rapid City, Mt. Rushmore, Terry Peak all within an hours drive. Plenty of deck space with gas grill and a gas fire pit.

From the bouquet of fresh flowers, to the coffee maker filled with water, we saw those special touches throughout, that made us feel at home. Forrest answered all of our questions in a timely manner. Immaculately clean. Quiet. Close to all the action. Thank you for a wonderful stay! You will NOT be disappointed!
disappointed!
We really enjoyed the home and the area! Seeing the wildlife all day was wonderful and it was a great place nestled in the trees! Forrest was also really kind and understanding about our special needs son. Definitely will be staying again in the future.
Clean, comfortable and welcoming!! This house is in the perfect location for us. My husband runs the Black Hills 100, and this is close to Sturgis. This location is in between Sturgis/Lead but not in town. This property is large and open. We had plenty of space for out door games (bags) and for our dogs to run.The wild life around the house is beautiful and unique.
The place was very clean, the owner was very quick to respond, and it was a great overall experience! We loved that it was dog friendly. The only thing that could've been an issue was parking. If we would have had 2 more couples (like we were supposed to) parking with trailers would've been an issue. Otherwise great place, great price, and we would stay there again!
We really liked the property. It was a perfect getaway for us to spend our anniversary weekend. The house was very clean and we had everything we needed. We loved seeing the deer and turkeys walk through the property and visit the deer feeder several times throughout the day. The property was secluded, but not too deep off of the main highway.
Property was as presented. Easy to communicate with the owner. The home had everything that we needed. It was accessible, clean and quiet. Couldn't have been better!
The area was beautiful. Love the deer and turkeys that would come visit. Very nice house and garage. Had games to play inside and out. Nice gas fire pit. Very quiet and relaxing area.
We were in SD for 4 days. We visited the Badlands, the Black Hills, Mt. Rushmore and did a little shopping for souvenirs and enjoyed it all. But, we definitely enjoyed the house and property the most!! The house was super clean, had plenty of space, and the beds were very comfortable. We spent a lot of time outside observing the deer (we saw two sets of twin fawns😊). We also saw lots of turkey. These animals came into the yard for us to see up close. My 12 year old grandson and I enjoyed ping pong and corn hole. We had time to complete one of the many puzzles. We brought our two small dogs and they loved running free in the yard. Our host, Forrest, was responsive and helpful. All in all it was a wonderful experience.
Tall Pines was a wonderful rental for our family vacation in the Black Hills. We loved the spacious rooms. There was plenty of seating at the dining table. The kitchen was nicely equipped, which was appreciated since we prepped most of our meals at the rental. The grandsons enjoyed the nice yard for games and running around. We spent many early mornings and evenings watching the deer. On our first evening, we watched 2 fawns "boxing" each other right in the front yard. That was very entertaining! There was so much that we loved about our stay at Tall Pines but the peace and quiet was my favorite.
Our family stayed at Tall Pines on our annual ATV trip to the Black Hills. The location was great for us being so close to trailheads. We loved the property! The first thing we noticed was how clean everything was. The car garage was great to have too. The cabin surpassed our expectations and we will definitely stay there again!!
Very clean, well stocked, access to a 2 stall garage!
We enjoyed our stay at Tall Pines! The house was immaculate and well equipped. The yard is large and good for playing catch, baseball and letting the kids run around. Corn hole is also provided! We appreciated the 2 stall garage since there was the threat of bad weather. Forrest was quick to respond to any questions we had upon our arrival and even checked in with us the next day to make sure we had everything we needed. A great place to stay overall!
If you choose this property you are very lucky.
Forrest was very gracious, even when our grandaughter had an accident with the kitchen cupboards. It was fixed in less than 24 hours!
Deer and turkeys were plentiful, lots of colorful birds!
Bedrooms are very spacious and beds were very comfortable.
Many, many games for kids and it was never boring.
All in all, we hated leaving.
Don’t hesitate, book this property!
Thanks so much Forrest for a very pleasant vacation!
The property was tucked back in a private secluded area. There was no through traffic so it was perfect for unwinding after the days worth of exploring. The house was well stocked with all the essentials. The wildlife was one of the greatest things we enjoyed. Deer and turkeys every morning and every evening. Plenty of rooms and laundry access was awesome. Nothing worse then taking dirty laundry home after vacation. The house was also entrally located to do all the day trips we needed tp see all the tourist sites! This was our first VRBO experience and because of our excellent time it wont be our last! The Homeowner was wonderful to work with. He was very responsive to messages and any requests we had. FIVE STARS!
Very clean, well maintained property. We had a slight inconvenience with the AC not working on the 2nd day but owner was diligent and accommodating to ensure we were comfortable. Thankfully cool nights helped and owner compensated us for inconvenience. We enjoyed our stay and will consider it when vacationing there again!
Everything went well with our stay. The place was exactly as shown. Located on a beautiful private lot not far from Sturgis and Deadwood. About an hour drive to the Badlands and Mount Rushmore. We had a question about the grill and Forrest was quick to come over and check it out. The house was very clean and had plenty of towels. We loved the outside fireplace, lawn games and access to the garage for our toys. We would definitely stay there again! Thanks, Forrest, for allowing us to stay at your place.
The Deveney family
We thoroughly enjoyed our time at this beautiful, secluded property. Perfect for a relaxing vacation! It was fun to watch the deer that made an appearance each day not far from the deck. The house had everything we needed for a comfortable and hassle-free stay. Highly recommend!
We enjoyed our relaxing few days at this cabin. The pictures don’t do it justice in the listing. It’s a very private setting with nature and wildlife all around. We stayed with our three kids and two dogs and had lots of room for us all. Kitchen and grill had all amenities you would need for cooking. Kids loved the cowboy golf and ping pong table. We would definitely stay again.
