Charming cabin with stunning views and great hospitality
We had an amazing stay at this lovely little cabin! The owner, who lives on the property, was very nice, non-disruptive, and great at communicating. She even took us to see the baby horses, which we absolutely loved. The cabin itself is perfect for a getaway, with incredible views of the mountains and horses. It was very clean and had all the essentials we needed. While there is no AC, there is a ceiling fan and a standing fan provided. It also cooled down a lot at night, so it wasn’t much of an issue. Overall, we had a great stay and would definitely recommend it. We would love to stay here again!
We spent a week enjoying the horses surrounding the property, the views and the peace & quiet! We were only an hour to Jackson via a beautiful drive.
Our dogs were welcomed and made comfortable - the owner even provided us a gate to use across the front balcony to prevent them from running off if off lead. We very much enjoyed our time here - the owners were onsite but we never saw them unless we had a question.
Great cabin, great location & view of the mountains. Communications with owner was exceptional. The only issue we had was finding the place. It would be easier if the address was posted somewhere on the road.
First off I am not a reviewer normally but this place and this trip was amazing! The cabin was actually as stated in the description and the pictures too. All the amenities you needed were provided. It’s was perfect for my husband and I for the 9 days we stayed there. The little town of Alpine was just 10 minutes or less up the road with a grocery store, bars, little cafe’s for breakfast, convenient stores and rentals for excursions. Just under an hour from Jackson Hole too. Just enough to get away from the typical touristy town if that not what you like. And the drive is just stunning. The people we met are so nice and we’ve made some friends from the trip too hanging at the local bar on Football Sunday. The property itself is gorgeous with all the views and the horses right outside your doors. Pretty cool toy that the road you drive in on is actually on the State line of Wyoming and Idaho. The owners were responsive to questions just wish I would have been able to meet them. They were out of town when we visited but again responded to the one question I had. I cannot say enough about this place. Needless to say we fell in love and will be back for sure. Do not hesitate to book this cabin. You’ll love it!
Our stay was very peaceful and relaxing. It was so quiet and tranquil, except for the night of the thunder and lightning - but that was a thrill!! Everything was exactly what we needed to relax; the location was ideal and the surroundings very soothing.
If you’re looking for a rustic cabin, don’t stay here. But if you are looking for a very nice, modern cabin with all the amenities, this is your place. The cabin is filled with natural light and great views all around. I hope to return!
Get place to stay out of the hustle and bustle; but good proximity to Jackson/Grand Tetons. Perfect place for a couple to stay. Really enjoyed the peace, the view, and the fireplace!
This is a lovely property in the valley. Quiet is the word. The cabin was a perfect homebase for our hikes in the mountains around the valley. The cabin was clean and very comfortable. Really felt like home away from home. We call this a "do againer".
We stayed here for a week and absolutely loved the property! What a hidden treasure nestled in the valley with a view of the mountains from everywhere you look!
This was the perfect escape for my fiancé (recently engaged on a backcountry hike here) and I! Loved the fireplace to warm up in the evenings, grill came in handy multiple times, great selection of toiletries in the cabin and convenient location to shopping in Alpine and Etna.
Ps we enjoyed the daily visits from the cats as well!!
We will be back!
We loved everything about this little cabin. We wanted to stay somewhere a little less touristy/more remote before heading into Yellowstone. Could not have asked for a better place! Everything was very clean. Check in process was easy. Amenities were fantastic. Bed was comfortable. Bathroom had shampoo/conditioner/make up wipes/soap/anything else you could think of to need! There was also a book full of recommendations in the area. Hosts were easily accessible and very friendly. Loved being able to sit out on the porch in the morning and watch horses/elk. Just a few miles from multiple national forests where we were able to drive/hike and see more wildlife. About 20 minutes from town, but an easy drive! Will definitely stay here again. Highly recommend.
We loved the property. The property was really clean. Our only wish is that it had air conditioning. It was sooooo hot during the day. We tried to cool it during the night and quick shut the blinds and close the windows during the day. The inside temperature was still around 90 degrees. I think probably the only months this would be a probably be July/August.
Location was quiet and scenic. Perfect respite with clean accommodations and provisions. Just what we were looking for! Close to outdoor activities.

Hosted by McKenna Riley
Born on a farm in South Dakota and raised in Montana, a Hilton Hotel Executive hired me for a Sales position in his hotel. Five years later, he proposed and we spent 35 years together in the hospitality and hotel business living in some of the world's most beautiful locations. We knew we would eventually settle in Jackson Hole, Wyoming and make the dream of owning our own hotel come true. We ended up owning two hotels during our years in Wyoming and after he passed away, our only daughter McKenna and I owned and operated our beautiful, highly rated boutique hotel in Jackson Hole for the past 17 years. After selling that hotel, we decided we just could not completely withdraw from the hospitality business but we wanted to also include our love of all things western, especially ranch life. Ten years ago, McKenna's fiancé, Erick joined us adding his skills as a Master Electrician, but also hospitality and construction. Definitely an unbeatable team! McKenna and Erick will be your on premises hosts.
Why they chose this property
After searching many areas in the region, we had passed the Spotted Moon Ranch several times, noting that it was exactly what we were looking to purchase. Perfect location, Salt River access, Forest Service Access and over 22 acres with incredible views of the valley and mountains. The Ranch had fencing and pastures, a stocked pond, and a substantial barn and out buildings. But, although It had been up for sale, it was under contract. We were thrilled when our realtor informed us that the sale had fallen through. To make sure, we would not lose it until we could tour the property the next day, we put in an immediate offer (since the owners received another full price offer the next day, it was a wise decision). It was everything we imagined, plus we could immediately see how we could put our stamp and experience in play to make the Ranch even better. We are hoping you fall in love with it also!
