It was a wonderful place to relax while attending a family wedding. Our only concern were the bees, wasps & hornets while sitting on front porch because one of our family is highly allergic to them. Other than those little pests it was a wonderful stay.
This is the 3rd time we’ve stayed here for Penn State weekends it is a hidden gem only 20 miles away. Secluded in the woods. Host is gracious, very clean, and beautiful historic property.
The Lost Dutchman offers many sleeping spaces and areas to hang during the day. The kitchen is equipped for any meal you would need to prepare. We had a misty, rainy weekend and spent any free time on the covered porch. Will and Dana reached out with easy check-in instructions .
Group of friends competing in the Ironman 70.3 event in Happy Valley. Rented the main house and cottage. Plenty of room and well enough equipped to cook and congregate together while still having our own space. Superb location for all outdoor activities. No WiFi, but most of us were able to get cell service.
The house and the property are even cuter in person and the hosts are super accommodating. This was our second time at the house and we plan to come back every year!
We rented this place for the Luke Combs concert at State College. It was one of the most reasonable priced places we could find. It was a cute and charming place in the middle of the woods. We enjoyed how peaceful, everything was. We would recommend this place to anyone staying in the area.
The house was great, hosts were quick to respond and helpful, the location is great, and was close enough to make the drive to PSU nice and easy. Repeat customer for sure.
This was an excellent VRBO! The location was great with access to a variety of activities. Seven Mountains Wine Cellars was a mile away and also provided for a great visit to the VRBO. The place was clean, accessible and very comfortable . Loved the front porch in the evening.
Amazing weekend with friends competing in the Wilderness 101 mountain bike race! Fantastic property in a beautiful setting. It was a great home base for us. Great escape for the weekend. Close to State College as well. Will and Dana were great hosts! We will be back again soon.
The house was WONDERFUL! Off the beaten path and quite. It was clean comfy and the property manager was very helpful and accessible. We had a great time and would recommend it and would stay there again ourselves.
The bedrooms were perfect and the kitchen was very roomy and well set up. Nice to site on the deck after riding all day and grill and chill. Host was very helpful. I’d definitely stay again
My family and I stayed here for PSU graduation weekend. It was a short drive to Penn State and all of the graduation festivities. The cabin is lovely. Plenty of room for everyone, to have their own bedroom. It was so nice to be able to seat everyone together, at the dinner table. The kitchen was very spacious. The living room fireplace was enjoyed by all in the early morning and in the evening. The beds were very comfortable. There were plenty of towels. Everything was clean. The hosts were wonderful, helpful and responsive.
The only thing that I would note, as a caution, it that this cabin is very old and has different levels of flooring to transition from one area of the house to another. For instance there is a step down when going from kitchen to living room and in the upstairs hallway and bathroom there are transitions. This proved to be somewhat of a challenge for the elderly grandparents, in our family. They had difficulty seeing the transitions. This could also be a concern for families with toddlers. Just something to be aware of. Our family enjoyed our stay. I would highly recommend the Lost Dutchman Retreat. We are looking forward to a return visit soon!
Although we didn't spend much time at the house, other than sleeping, we found it very clean, plenty of towels and cozy. A bit off the beaten path. No wifi but my tmobile worked great. Others in our party had reception issues.
This property was perfect for our family Thanksgiving. We had lots of space for our whole crew. We cooked, ate and did fun activities like playing board games and card games as a family. It was fun not having Wi-Fi!
Everything was just as described. Spacious but cozy. Beds were very comfortable. Kitchen area was super - nice big table for dinner for 6 and for playing games afterwards. Loved not having wifi!
Wonderfully remote. Enjoyed the fire pit and front porch 🥰
