The Nash Cottage built in 1955;
located on 3/4 of an acre, has an impressive 100ft of sand kissed 🏖 beach waiting for your arrival. Shaded by over 70 trees
you’ll get the best of both worlds during your stay at our cozy family setting.

If it’s a slow-pace you desire, there’s a massive deck overlooking the lake in the shade; perfect for meals or bird watching or lounge chairs for napping 💤…or a good book 📖.

For a more active vacation, pack-up your fishing 🎣 poles
kayaks or paddle boards and enjoy our 69 acre lake for hours
of fun! Our all-sports lake is private; no public boat-launch.

For daily excursions, Tawas City is only a 15 minute drive away; overlooking Lake Huron, offers restaurants & shopping 🛍 with an old town feel…

A copy of your drivers license 🪪 and a rental agreement signed, will be emailed to you within 24 hours of booking and requested to be returned within 72 hours.

If you wish to rent Paddle boats, or Kayaks, you may do so by requesting them in our VRBO conversation for your convenience and will be set-up for you at the beach 🏖 upon your arrival:) We do provide a life vest for each person or child with your rental.

A Rental Agreement and Release of Liability form needs to be signed at Check-In before use of rentals… Your payment will added to your VRBO account for requested rentals and any Wood 🪵 purchases.

No Trailers, Camper’s, or RVs will be considered / allowed on property for hook-up. No trailers pulling small motorized watercraft is allowed to be driven and launched on the property. All watercraft brought must be able to be carried down to the beach…

Please advise us in advance to what your bringing as a courtesy, so we may inform you of your location to store and launch them. Also… Please be mindful of neighbors on either side of our property. Look for property-limits signs posted at waters edge on beach. WaterCraft on our property is For-Rent and any Docks or Water Rafts off of our property are Off-Limits and is Trespassing on other homeowners property. Quiet & relaxing!

Such a cute little place to stay and unwind! The kids loved to play in the lake and it was close enough to Tawas that we spent some time there a couple days!

Perfect relaxation getaway

This is an adorable cottage on a really nice lake where the fishing was amazing! It was very clean and comfortable, and the lake was remarkably quiet for Labor Day Weekend!! We paddle boated around and caught lake trout all day, all weekend long. I highly recommend this rental and the owners are genuinely delightful.

Bass Lake Getaway

Cute little cottage perfect for two. Very clean and nicely decorated. We had everything we needed for a comfortable stay with lovely views of the lake in the back yard. We would definitely consider returning.

Cozy Getaway

We enjoyed the cottage and property. Nice views, clean and well maintained. The location is good as you feel secluded but everything you may need on vacation is just down the road. The owners were easy to talk with and accommodating. We would recommend this home.

Wonderful Vacation stay

This was one of the best vacation homes my family and i have stayed in. from the great communication with the owners. They were very responsive prior to our stay even leading up to our stay they were amazing. The cottage was stunning with an amazing beach front private access. Gorgeous and modern/rustic cottage

This cottage was beautifully set on Bass Lake in a very quiet and peaceful setting. Even though the weather was a bit chilly for June, my 10 year old son loved swimming in the lake and I enjoyed the sun on the beach. Very close to downtown Tawas and all the fun the area has to offer. We will definitely be back! Thanks for having us 😊

Great stay

Communication with the owner was excellent. Check in and check out were easy. The property is very well kept, clean and fully stocked with amenities. The private beach was perfect. Great size deck and sun room. We rented kayaks which came with life vests and really employed them. The area was very peaceful and beautiful. It is also close to Tawas, where we enjoyed the quaint downtown area with shopping and restaurants. We really enjoyed our stay!

Fine small cottage

We had three adults and it was tight. Nice location except for the neighbors dogs barking 24/7. Fine stay but the rules and lists provided by the host made us feel like we were walking on eggshells the whole weekend. I’ve never had so much paperwork, documentation and questioning needed from a host and we’ve stayed at multiple much nicer locations.

Great Stay!

The property was in excellent condition. Clean and welcoming. Many items available for use - cooking utensils, dishware, etc. The host was very accommodating and available during our stay. The only recommendation I would make is maybe a full size fridge. We only stayed two nights, so it was adequate for us, but if we were staying a full week, it would be difficult to fit a week's worth of food in there.

Picture perfect cottage!

My husband and I spent 3 nights at Nash Cottage in July 2022. This trip far exceeded our expectations. Shari was a wonderful host. The cottage was clean and well appointed with just about everything we needed. The beach and fire pit made for relaxing afternoons and evenings. Shari even had our first fire all set up and ready for us to light upon arrival! We felt very comfortable our entire stay. The lake is small and quiet, and all neighbors seemed respectful of one another. This would be perfect for a couple, small family or small group of friends.

Cozy and relaxing cottage to stay at!

We enjoyed our stay very much, we were there 7 days. I saw other reviews re: the hot water, the faucets are just backwards. We didn’t run out of hot water with a single shower. Just wanted to make sure that others knew that from other reviews. As with most cottages, we have always turned off faucets between soap and rinse, but we are campers and are used to doing that, however we did not do this at the Nash cottage. We met the owner while she watered the flowers, very nice and was available if we had any questions. Thank you for a beautiful stay! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Nash cottage

My family and I had a wonderful time at Nash cottage. The property was immaculatly clean and well organized.The stay, check in, and check out instructions were clear and accurate. The property was quite and relaxful. My children had a wonderful time playing at the beach, looking for frogs, kayaking with my wife and I, and fishing. The cottage sits back and is shaded by trees making the cottage a consistent comfortable temperature even on the hottest days of our stay. There are ac units but we did not need to run them hardly at all. The wonderful new composite deck was a great spot to eat out side and enjoy a mornings coffee looking over the deck. The local corner store/ice cream parlor is within walking distance. We spent time in east tawas and lumberman's monument, both are less than a 20 minute drive.

Awesome family week

We rented this cottage for a week! I felt very comfortable there. The cottage was stocked with everything we needed. The beach area was nice and very relaxing. The back deck off the house had amazing views. It was a perfect week for me and my family to just get away and relax! The neighbors were super nice also! The house had beautiful flowers all around it. I would recommend this cottage to a small family, or a girls week!! Con...shower only has hot water for like 5 min, it was a little difficult with young kids, i had to turn the water off inbetweeen washing them so we didnt run out of hot water, but we werent there for showers, I would definitely still recommend this cottage! Thanks agian sherri for everything! The host was available for questions and concerns :)

Lovely long weekend

We enjoyed our visit to Nash Cottage. It was very peaceful. We rented a kayak and paddleboard from the owner. We brought fishing poles and spent many hours fishing. The lake is pretty but small (49 acres), qclean but not really one I wanted to swim in. It was perfect for fishing and paddling and the kids swam a bit! There are many thoughtful touches throughout the cottage and the decor is lovely. It is a very small kitchen but there was a gas grill to extend the cooking area. Could use some kitchen knives—we had a watermelon and steaks but no way to cut. For the most part though the kitchen was well appointed. The bathroom is also small but functional, although the shower is a bit claustrophobic, just fair warning! There were plenty of fluffy bath towels. The hot water only lasted a couple moments in the shower, but we had no issue washing dishes, so we may have been doing something wrong. The enclosed porch with the pull outs was a lovely feature. My favorite spot was sitting on the deck in the comfy lounge chairs or in a lounge chair down by the water. The flowers everywhere was also a favorite feature. This little spot is lovingly cared for. We visited friends on Lake Huron in Alabaster, about 15 minutes away. As Shari recommended, the Indian Lakes Outpost had amazing pizza. I recommend the dill pickle plus Alfredo.

We made the best of it

We originally booked this property for a wedding. The wedding ended up being cancelled, and Shari knew before we did about the cancellation. After I mentioned the wedding being cancelled, she continued to state that she knew and doesn't give refunds. Which is fine, I get it, and we ended up making the best of it and going anyway. Part 1: a day or two before checking in, I received multiple inquiries about renting kayaks, paddleboats, wood, etc. from her for a ridiculous cost. We have most of this equipment ourselves, so did not rent anything. Once we arrived at the property, it was a bit unclear where the property lines started and ended with the neighbors, so we tried our best to stay in the beach area directly behind the cottage. However, all of the equipment mentioned for renting and TONS of firewood is all over the yard (like it was included). We did not use anything, but to charge someone a large sum for using a kayak, that was out in the open would mislead someone who was unaware of the booking conversations prior to. Luckily, we made it very clear to a few friends who were visiting to please not use anything that seemed to be a part of the cottage, because we did not want to get charge any crazy fees. Part 2: it does mention in the rental agreement that the hot water is limited and to space out showers. We have cabins and campers, so we understand the limitations to hot water tanks. However, I took a quick shower our first night and I was barely able to get out of the ice water with the conditioner still in my hair. The next shower I took later that night (after waiting 2 hours), it went cold after washing the conditioner out. The next day, we timed the hot water shower for the next person, and it lasted literally 4min tops. I texted Shari about this, and she proceeded to state that they actually updated the water heater to a 20gal tank, and sorry there's nothing she can do. All I asked was, is there something wrong with it? She made it clear in the rental agreement that don't be shocked if she stopped by to say hello or at check in or whenever, so I thought she would at least pop over and see if the water heater was off a bit. I got nothing but a "sorry". Part 3: Cleanliness. I get it, the cottage is on the water. However, the amount of spiders, spider webs, and bugs on the ceiling was a bit much. Especially because they supposedly cleaned right before we arrived. Overall, we made the best of it, but we will never rent this cottage again.

Dash cottage labor day weekend

This little cottage was so clean and comfortable. We didn't have the urge to even leave for anything. This lake is surrounded by cottages and was busy with lots of boats and jet skis. Boats are available to rent from owner and are very nice. The water is clear but weedy. May want to bring water shoes. Yard is nice. We had plenty of room for cornhole and Frisbee. There is a decline to get down there. Plenty of chairs around the campfire and zero gravity chairs on the beach and deck. Gas grill was nice. Cabin has everything you need and all beds are super comfy even the pull-outs on the porch. Host was amazing, very accommodating. Couldn't have asked for anything else.

Adorable cottage!

The cottage was so clean and really cute! You could tell a lot of time and thought went into updating and decorating. The lake was so calm and nice for kids to swim and play. We enjoyed the bonfire and the calm atmosphere. My only complaint was that, for the price you are paying to stay per night, I don’t think things like firewood and a paddle boat should cost extra. Those are items that should be included. We were in need of life jackets for our kids, and even though it was posted that we needed to bring them, that is not something we own or need at home, so it would have been nice for us to have access to them so our kids could swim safely in the lake, since it was so deep. Overall, not a deal breaker, as we were able to borrow them from the neighbor. But it would have made me give 5 stars rather than 4. But I still recommend it!
