The port of Saint-Goustan is popular for its lively entertainment and half-timbered houses. It is famous for having welcomed Benjamin Franklin, American scientist and statesman, on 3 December 1776, on his way to the Château de Versailles to negotiate the alliance between the new American state and France.
The Auray market takes place every Monday and is the most famous in the region. Not to be missed. Saint-Goustan is a popular holiday destination, where you can enjoy the Breton way of life with a drink on the terrace or a quality meal in a local restaurant.
Auray is very close to Sainte-Anne-d'Auray, a Breton holy place and the third most popular place of pilgrimage in France.
