An easy stroll down the rolling lawn to a fire-pit and kayak launch on the beach. The beach has pebbles close to shore and round rocks farther down, good swimming. This property has 200' of Private waterfront, facing south, with views East to West. Watch the Sun rise or set, or both! Newly completed generous sized 2 bedroom "cottage" with all amenities. Sleeping arrangements are 1 queen size bed and 1 double bed. View dining and sitting room, separate living room, and spacious bathroom with laundry. Cute kitchen! We would love to have travelers think of this as "their" cottage away from it all, and return! Walk the beach, watch the whales, bring your kayaks, or rent one from a neighbour a block away. An easy 10 minute drive to downtown amenities. Golf course 2 km, hiking close, beach walking for miles east and west. A great oceanside cottage

This cottage has loads of character. Tony and Kathy were welcoming hosts. The cottage was immaculately clean and thought has been put into the design of every room. We enjoyed watching whales, seals, and sea lions. The kids enjoyed playing badminton when they weren’t skipping stones. This a great base from which to explore Powell River and Lund.

DEFINITELY recommended. Wonderful, everything and more. Outstanding hosts, T and G, and so accommodating and friendly. Beautiful waterfront accommodations set in a picturesque garden setting and a stunning view of Texada Island. The cottage is well fitted out with everything we could wish for and more. This vacation getaway will be something we will always remember.

Whale watching heaven

This is a great property in the beach. There is lots of space to sit at the beach, with fire rings, umbrellas for the sunny days, and chairs. We saw humpbacks, seals and sea lions from the beach every day, and one day we were lucky enough to spot orcas. Tony greeted us and showed us around the property as soon as we arrived. He was very friendly and easy to talk to, but allowed us our privacy while we were there. This was a perfect place to relax and unwind.

We had a lovely stay. Our hosts were accommodating to all our requests, informative, and pleasant to talk with. Our home was clean and comfortable. The family enjoyed paddle boarding and kayaking, swimming because of the easy access. The place was also close to town and beautiful beaches.

Just what we needed!

A beautiful place and wonderful stay! We were able to playon the beach, have a campfire and see seals, dolphins and all kinds of birds. The cottage was exactly what we were expecting and we loved it. Kathy and Tony were lovely and extremely helpful. We look forward to coming back sometime!

Exceptional Retreat

Wonderful location, quiet and well equipped, very clean, spacious enough for a small family, amazing views to the ocean from dusk until dawn, highly recommended in all aspects!

Highly Recommend!

This is a lovely waterfront space with gracious and generous hosts. We loved staying here! Highlights included: tea and reading down by the water; morning yoga on the deck with eagles and ravens swooping overhead; afternoon paddling adventures on the many local lakes; smores and stories around the firepit at sunset. We look forward to coming back.

Wonderful!

We had a wonderful stay at the cottage - a comfortable house, actually. Everything we needed for an easy stay. View from the deck and dining table is mesmerizing. Hosts Kathy and Tony added so much to our stay - thank you! They know and love the area and their enthusiasm and generosity helped us have a delightful visit. Highest recommendation.

Glorious WestCoast Fall Getaway

The wild west coast of BC is a glorious place to spend a week. Sunray Cottage in Powell River was absolutely enchanting. Immaculate and inviting, spacious with all the amenities to cook lovely meals while watching the fall winds blow the waves and leaves across the lush grass and charming gardens. We loved our morning coffee by the picture windows facing the sea, looking for seals and otters, watching the birds dive and swoop. The rocky beach just steps away was refreshing to visit, even when the rain was pelting down - invigorating! Our hosts were available as needed. Directions and checking-in were seamless. TV, wifi, games to play, places to read and contemplate, cozy beds, a short drive to town for groceries - everything you need! We highly recommend Sunray Cottage for a solo trip, for a couple, a girls' weekend away, two couples, a family of four. We would go back anytime and hope to do so again!

Amazing waterfront location!

This property was really amazing! It is a guest cottage near the main house but it felt really private. We never saw anyone else the entire time we were there. We could see the water (and watch dolphins!) from our deck and walked down to the shore too. The stars are amazing at night and having a campfire by the beach was a joy! The hosts were very helpful and provided supplies for the campfire too. I highly recommend this cottage!

Oceanfront Cottage

What a perfect place to stay to enjoy the Sunshine Coast. It is a very cute and spacious cottage right on the ocean. The owners were so friendly and made us feel welcomed. We will definitely stay here again.

Wonderful

Spacious 2 bedroom with 1 bath. Very well equipped kitchen (no dishwasher), comfortable queen (softer) and double (more firm) beds. We would stay here again, it was very comfortable and hosts were very kind and helpful.

Lovely home with great hosts!

The cottage (more house) was located on the side of the property, some distance from the main house. . Access into the home was from a private parking area, through a beautiful garden. . The cottage itself was clean, well appointed and had large, comfortable living spaces. . We spent much of our time on the front deck, watching the ocean, whales and world go by. . Kathy and Tony were fantastic hosts, who went out of their way to make sure we felt welcome and had everything we needed. They encouraged to use the lawn and beach areas as much as we wanted and they had no issue with some friends joining us (on more than one occasion) for dinner. . It was the perfect spot for our family holiday and we hope to return soon! .

Pictures do not do it justice - wonderful ocean-side cottage

We stayed for a wonderful week in August. The hosts were very accommodating and went out of their way to make our family feel welcome. The hosts live in another property in the large acreage, but very respectful of our privacy. The cottage itself was more spacious than expected from the photos and was well appointed with everything you would need for a comfortable stay. The location is off the busy highway, but the property was very peaceful. We star gazed from the deck every evening, and even saw whales breaching just off shore! We had a very relaxing stay and wouldn't hesitate to recommend a stay here.

Peaceful and pretty

Stunning views, the sound of the ocean and wind to fall asleep with. Kitchen had everything we needed and the bathroom had ample towels. Having coffee on the deck in the morning looking at the sea was perfection. I definately would recommend a stay here.

Wonderful vacation rental.

This property is gorgeous… beautiful sunsets, moon rises, and we saw whales breach 20 feet from the shoreline! The house is cozy yet spacious, and the beds are comfortable. The hosts were very friendly and accommodating, and gave us the privacy we wanted.

Beautiful ocean-side cottage

Kathy and Tony's cottage is absolutely a perfect place for a family get-away. We had a great time swimming in the ocean, collecting shells and rocks on the beach, and exploring the towns nearby. The cottage is very clean and comfortable with everything we needed. We definitely will stay here again!

Bckyard is bordered with beach, an excellent location for swimming, sunbathing and sunset watching.

All of us have really enjoyed pleasant and relaxed time during our stay. This cozy and clean beach house has made our vacation another wonderfully unforgettable memory. For sure we will consider coming back in near future and recommending it to our friends.

Amazing Location

Tony & Kathy are the perfect hosts with a cabin set up perfectly for a getaway in Powell River. The spot is very private, yet offers great view of Texeda Island. The cabin is set a bit back but the view is not compromised - if you are lucky a sea lion or sea otter will swim by to fill you with a little sunshine. The cabin is very clean, and is well stocked with everything that you would need. Great location in proximity to the ferry and to Powell River. Looking forward to a return visit - hoping sooner than later!
