It was an excellent place to stay for the price. Great location. We watched manatees swim all around and lots of other wildlife. I would definitely recommend.

Family fishing trip
Overall the house had all necessary amenities. The washer was broke which we didn't know about beforehand, it would have been nice to know that beforehand. We couldn't figure out how to get the waterfall to work on the pool, though we didn't reach out to the manager aboutit. We had a hard time getting the key out of the key lock, we got in late and it would have been nice to have a light on outside so we could be able to see easier. The home was clean with a really good working AC and the location was awesome with tarpon, groupers, and sharks seen off of the dock.
This duplex sits on the most beautiful lagoon in Marathon! The views morning, noon and night take your breath away. The lodging itself is well appointed, the WiFi very strong and easy parking. It’s not fancy, but very welcoming and comfortable. The pool is a perfect spot to cool off and there are plentiful kayaks and sups!
So glad we stayed here. Perfect location, plenty of room, loved the pool and being able to dock our boat.

Very poorly appointed
Very dated and shabby. Broken appliances, 2nd bedroon had zero storage, no hangers. Kitchen had no extras, pans were gross. Dishwasher didnt run, wash machine was broken, lamp was tattered, closet door off track and broken. Communication was spotty. Informedbus once we were there that we needwd to be out the first dat at noon as they were showing the rental because it was fir sale. No kleenex, hand soap, very small sample shampoo to last an entire week. Would not book again.
The condo was comfortable, clean and had enough plates, silverware, utensils and cookware for our needs. Well situated, and a lovely walkway across the street. The paddleboards were fun, too. The hot tub (inflatable variety) functioned, but you need to watch a YouTube video to figure out how to heat it up and make it work (it takes 24hours to heat to 100 deg in January), so be prepared.(the "near-perfect" part): The only real issue was the dishwasher and the washing machine were both broken. The host gave me the option of using the laundry downstairs facing the road, so there was a backup, but it was a little inconvenient. That said, the host was very helpful, and for the 2 of us, we managed fine without the dishwasher. We had several visits from manatees and dolphins, and warm afternoon sun on the pool patio.
We had a great time at the property. We liked the fact that it's on the "large" part of the inlet. Saw lots of fish/manatees which the family enjoyed and also easier to get a boat in and out as we aren't "all the time" boaters. Would stay here again. It is a duplex so the pool area can be joint with who is next door, but overall setup well (just important to know if you require dedicated space).
This property is centrally located to anywhere you want to go. Lounging in the pool and looking out into the marina we had a nurse shark, manatee, parrot fish and sea turtles keep us entertained daily. Owner was very responsive as he spends time in in office on the property. He stays out of the way and there is no need to worry about privacy. It felt like we had the place to ourselves. Comfortable bed and overall a very nice place to spend our 7 days. The dishwasher leaks but an easy fix is to put a towel down or wash the dishes by hand. I would stay here again in a heartbeat
We were not disappointed with the view from the balcony. Saw a turtle swimming in the bay. Lots of wildlife. The only negatives were the little ants all over the kitchen and bathrooms. The dishwasher handle is broke so we didn’t use it. Check in and check out we’re different times then online. They gave us a list of when the trash would be picked up but had no clue as to what area we were in. Fortunately, the traffic is very light when you pull out to leave, the bush by the street needs to be trimmed back or taken out so people can pull out safely.
We had a fantastic week!! The house was better than the pictures! The inside of the house is a little dated and for sure could use some new mattresses, but we spent little time inside. The dishwasher latch is broken as previously noted but we propped a chair against it. The property was perfect! We parked our boat on the sea wall and it had nice bumpers and lighting. The yard was big enough for our 20ft flats boat but anything bigger would really start to get tight. The public ramp down the street was VERY nice and super convenient. The pool wasn’t heated as noted but only slightly chilly even in March. The views were amazing. we watched the sun come up in the morning and set in the evenings. For the money this place is great! If you vacation to sit inside then look elsewhere. It had everything WE needed! Thanks again for everything!
Not the cleaniest. Stove filthy, burnt at bottom, cooked a pizza and smoked up the whole house, contacted host, they asked if they could handle the next day. Next day came we seen the host multiple times (they live on the property) and never acknowledged us or did anything about the stove or the rest of the cleanliness. Dust bunnies in master bedroom and in hallway. A booger on the bathroom wall. Paper towels under tables to level, very tacky in my opinion. Didn't feel comfortable walking around in our bare feet. Master shower leaked, had to put 2 towels down for the water. Screen door was broken held up with a bungee cord which allowed a stray cat to try to gain entry into the residence. Also grates on the grill were rusted through so we could not use. After no communication with host and failing to correct issues we had to find other accommodations. Once contacted VRBO, host refused to refund. Would not recommend.
We were a little nervous when a couple of less than positive reviews popped up right before our vacation, but were absolutely impressed with the property.
First off, the location is absolutely perfect. You're less than 2 miles from basically anything in marathon. I've stayed in this area on the lagoon before and this property offers the best views by far.
In regards to the cleanliness of the place itself, there wasn't anything that bothered us at all. The dishwasher didn't leak all over the floor and we used it pretty much every day. The beds were comfortable, sheets and bedding a little old, but its a rental.
The pool and grounds were absolutely perfect, and when I had a question about the waterfall the property guy texted right back and even showed up a few hours later to check.
There were 2 kayaks and a paddle board on our side, and all 3 had working paddles with no issues. We used them almost every day. The grill was older, but was in good working order.
Overall, this is a perfect home base. We had a boat and the dockage was great and the centralized location even better. We will definitely be staying again.

Needs Improvement
While the pics and the pool are what drew us to this property, we were underwhelmed throughout our stay. The air conditioner was great and the view was beautiful, but the conditions and lack of upkeep were a definite drawback.
Areas to be improved:
Dishwasher leaks all over the floor
Under Kitchen sink really nasty and prolonged leaks w/ catch pan under leaky pipe and water that had not been changed in a very long time.
Needs a working toaster/manual can opener (had to open cans w/ knives)
Lights burned out in hall bathroom
Hall bath toilet handle sticks so toilet runs all day
Master window sun shades broken
Master sheets wouldn’t stay on bed and discovered Master bed mattress cover blood stained (unlaundered)
Both kitchen brooms broken
Kayak paddles were in complete broken shambles when we arrived (the kayaks were a main draw for this rental)
Had a difficult time connecting with the property managers. Several emails were never responded to. Would NOT use this rental again.
The property is a duplex with the property manager office below the house. It is a wonderful location, there is an airport across the street so it is noisy when planes take off. The canal had a lot of marine life so that was nice. The property was just okay as far as upkeep. The grill was in horrible shape and out of propane, and the Kayak paddles were broken. The beds were very uncomfortable, the king size bed in the master bedroom just needs replaced. Both of my girls fought over who would sleep on the couch and it wasn’t even comfortable. One room has a daybed with a roll out twin mattress under it and when we rolled out the mattress the sheets were dirty from the previous visit. There were extra sheets so we just changed them. We rented a boat for the week so the location and dock was nice.
