Needs updating
After getting over the initial shock of the furnishings in the house as soon as we opened the front door, after a couple of days, the place became more acceptable. But it definitely needs some TLC and updating. The only piece of furniture in the living room was a second-hand couch. We could sleep in only one of the two beds. The mattress on the bed was so soft/worn that my wife and I kept rolling into the middle of the bed. We moved to the other bed after two hours.
The cleaning person did not do a good job before we got there. There was a wad of hair in the medicine cabinet. The biggest pot still had grease in the bottom of it, and another pan was not clean. The base of the blender was filthy; food was still on it. We threw away many open food items in the cupboard, such as sugar, flour, and mac-and-cheese.
The number of dishes, silverware and cooking utensils was barely adequate.
The immediate area of the duplex was fine, but the neighborhood getting to the house was very sketchy.
I will say that when I determined that the Keurig-style coffeemaker didn't work, I called the property manager, and he brought over a brand-new Keurig coffeemaker that afternoon. A new washer was also installed a few days after we arrived.
Considering the price we paid to rent this duplex, we were expecting much better lodgings. It would take just a little sprucing up and updating of the premises and furnishings to make it much better. We would not recommend renting this property.
