About this property

A Belgrade Lakes Destination, Very Private, Tranquil [Handicap Accessible]

As you enter the private gated entrance to The Pond House and descend through our fields, you will be in awe at the most picturesque vista in the Belgrade Lakes area. Positioned on several hundred private acres, the Pond House was built in 2020. It sits close to the waters edge and provides easy boating access to Long Pond and Belgrade Lakes Village. The house is handicap accessible, tastefully decorated with an open floor concept and sleeps 8. The main house has two queen size bedrooms. The attached annex also has a handicap bathroom and a queen size bed and full size bed. We allow up to two pets with a $125 additional pet fee. Pets are not allowed on the furniture.
We offer three kayaks, two canoes and a paddleboat. There is a large dock, swim raft and inner tubes. If you bring your own boat, you can launch it at the public boat launch on Long Pond and take the scenic cruise down Long Pond and Ingham Stream back to The Pond House. You can rent boats from Central Maine Boat & RV Rentals, phone 207-931-8820 or small fishing boats from Castle Island Camps on Long Pond, phone 207-495-3312. We do not allow jet skis or wakeboard boats. The large screened porch makes for enjoyable bug free evenings. Outside, enjoy sitting around the fire pit, playing a game of corn hole or relaxing in the hammock. There are miles of walking trails that you can access directly from the house.
While staying at the Pond House, you should go up to the field on a clear night and check out the Milky Way Galaxy. It will be directly overhead and is really something to see.
We only accept one week, Saturday to Saturday, rentals during July and August. Check in is anytime after 2pm. Check out is 10am.
IF YOU CARE TO SUPPLY YOUR OWN TOWELS AND SHEETS, PLEASE LET US KNOW AHEAD OF TIME AND WE WILL DEDUCT $200 FROM YOUR RENTAL FEE.

Great stay in a great setting

Awesome place, amazing location and with great friends it was a recipe for a good time. We had many pics and videos of eagles very close landing in the tree on the waters edge and coming down to feast on fish. Everything we needed was onsite. Thank you!

Had a wonderful stay!

I would give this property and the hosts 6 stars if that were possible! Absolutely beautiful home on a lovely, quiet, serene pond with walking trails right outside the door. We even watched bald eagles and otters from the living room sofa! Roger and Elaine live nearby and were available, and had great suggestions for things to do in the area. They even checked in on us to make sure we were aware of the impending snow. Highly recommended! Even the dog loved it. :)

Best staycation we could ever dream of!

The house and property are so lovely and comfortable. It really is more beautiful in person. It’s very private and exactly what we were looking for. We swam, kayaked and brought out paddle boards to enjoy. I actually worked remotely for a couple of days too and the WiFi worked well. We are already planning on returning next year!

Return to Ingham Pond

This was our second stay at the Pond House, and it was no less wonderful or perfect this time around. The accommodations have everything we needed to make dinners, hang out, swim and play all day on the water, and for 7 of us to sleep comfortably. The privacy and scenery were unbeatable; and for nature lovers, there is so much to look at and explore. This is truly a special spot for us.

Wonderful property on a quiet pond

This was the second time we stayed at the pond house. This is a new property that is in great shape and especially good for me because it is ADA accessible. We highly recommend it. The owners are very attentive to guests and making sure they have what they need and are comfortable.

Excellent accommodations

We chose this cottage as the owners had taken the time to make it wheelchair accessible and ADA friendly. Since I am in a wheelchair pretty much full-time this was a fantastic place for me to stay. I could get around the building easily and be close to the water. Kitchen was well equipped! We already plan to return.

Our favorite vacation spot!

Our third stay and we love it more each time we visit. Roger and Elaine have created an oasis of peace and serenity. Loon sightings every day on the lake as well as Orioles, Pilleated Woodpecker and Merganser, etc. The view from the living room is wonderful and we wish we could wake up here everyday!! Thank you for sharing your wonderful spot. We are planning our next visit.

Great spot with awesome views

Roger was great in answering any questions we had. He was attentive to our needs with my grandmother being wheelchair-bound. As the listing describes, AWD or 4x4 is required in the winter months. We had no issues with our Subaru making the trip in and out. The house is in a nice wooded spot which allowed for nature walks before the rain moved in.The kitchen has all the essentials and a few extras. We were able to cook all of our meals with relative ease. The bedrooms were nice and two allowed for the wheelchair entry providing a quiet moment or two. The only challenge we had for the wheelchair was the bathroom sink. My grandmother is a little shorter and reaching up to wash her hands was our only challenge. She was only there for a day and did not use the shower, just know the showers understandably have a 2-3 inch lip on the bottom and would not be role-in. All the wall bars were fantastic. We enjoyed the woodstove, as we have one at home, and it added to the holiday ambiance. Overall a great stay and we would highly recommend and hope to return.

Get away to Maine

This property is breathtaking. It is so beautiful with the huge picture window looking over the lake as well as the surrounding beauty of Mother Nature. Truly a very special place on this planet and a wonderful place to relax and let the world go by. We enjoyed the hiking trails, the full kitchen, the great outdoor fireplace, canoeing and dog friendly accommodations. Plus, met Roger and just a wonderful human being--if everyone could be like Roger, the world would indeed be a better place. Thank you for opening up this lovely cabin for us to enjoy!

Wonderful!!!

Just an amazing spot! From the time you enter the gates, the views are spectacular! On the way to the Pond House, there are apple trees, marked with the variety, for you to pick. The Pond House has everything that you could want or need. The quality of the house is amazing. The dock, the firepit, the views of the wildlife of the pond, all of it, top shelf! Roger greeted us when we arrived, was there whenever we needed anything, and couldn't have been more gracious. We are already planning for when we can come back!

Great place and stay, even with the rain!

This property is amazing and very private! We’ve rented several lake houses and this one is one of the best! Roger and Elaine have thought about everything to make your stay comfortable. A very well supplied kitchen for cooking/baking/grilling, comfortable beds, ceiling fans in every room, clean house, yard games and boats for the water. Walking trails right off the property were enjoyed by all, especially our dogs! The pond is a bit away from the lake but very accessible and provides peace and quiet except for an occasional fishing boat. Lots to explore with kayaks and canoes. A loon family entertained us all week. Roger was very responsive and helpful, thoroughly enjoys meeting his guests and even asked what they can do to improve the property!! It rained most of our week but we still had a wonderful time and do hope to return. Thank you Roger and Elaine for a fun and memorable family vacation with our adult(and four-legged) children!

Absolutely wonderful!

What an amazing property, with amazing owners. I have stayed in one of Roger and Elaine’s other homes and knew they were awesome, but they have out done themselves in every way with this new property. They have thought of every detail from a renter’s perspective. If you need it look as it is there somewhere! And talk about a beautiful location (except deer flies!) we saw loons, herons, raccoons and an eagle swoop down for his lunch. We had 2 dogs and family from Indiana, NH and Maine with children 7 months, 17 months and 3 years and adults ranging from 22-69! It was perfect for all of us and more than enough space to be together or apart as needs called for…truly lovely. Great beds and well stocked. And as my 3 year old great nephew called it the "little" house was perfect to give space for naps, etc. And the weather was Maine at its best. Thank you so much for this much needed family get away! I have stayed in a a lot of rentals in area and this one truly stood out in every way!

Beautiful Spot for Nature & Water Lovers

We wound up finding Roger & Elaine's Pond House after staying elsewhere in the area the prior summer and wanting to return. My wife and I along with two boys, two dogs, an Auntie and Uncle, had a comfortable stay in the house. You couldn't ask for nicer or more accommodating hosts. Roger stopped by to check in a couple of times, and we enjoyed chatting with him about the area. He had great tips to check out locally. The house was well kept and cozy with a nice open kitchen/living area and great shower pressure. We had plenty of room when it rained too hard to be out on the water. The bedrooms were comfy and we slept well every night. The dock was great for fishing, jumping in for a swim, and taking out a kayak or canoe which were in great shape and there for our use. The kids loved swimming to the floating dock and doing dives and cannonballs. The pond itself is a gem, surrounded by wetland habitat, with plenty of birds and plants to spot. We rented a pontoon for the week, which we could take from the pond through a winding channel around a mile to the south end of Long Lake, and on from there into town for groceries. Make sure you have bug spray, as this is summertime in Maine, but with that taken care of, the area around the pond including a snowmobile trail network was a delight to explore with our dogs. Overall a wonderful week with many great memories. We're already looking forward to our next visit.

Amazingly beautiful location. Nature abounds! Thoughtful accommodations.

Best vacation yet. Our whole family enjoyed kayaking, canoeing and swimming in the lake. It was much easier having canoes and kayaks available right at the house. Kids and adults had easy entry into the lake via the dock or the gently sloping shore. We had fun with the paddleboat and the wood stove. The Pond House has a multitude of lighting options, is decorated with relevant local scenery and wildlife. Kitchen was well equipped. The only thing I would add is a cast iron griddle for the middle burner of the gas stove for blueberry pancakes. We found our needs being met at every turn. Hooks where we needed them, a clothes line, flashlights ready, chairs, benches, games, lots of wood, back porch grill, screened porch to relax and listen to the loons, 3 tubes for the lake. Owners even had a hummingbird and oriole feeder outside the picture window freshly filled. Stars were brilliant on the dock and up on the hill where you enter the property. Nice paddle up to Long Pond, but my absolute favorite was watching the loons and their chicks from the front window, kayaking around Ingham Pond and down the inlet to the left of the Pond house. We saw a lot of animals. Really an amazing place. Also, for those worried about the bugs, they weren’t bad. I used natural bug repellant some and a head net once or twice, but mostly covered up with clothing for slow trips along the shore. Only once did I go in early because of mosquitoes at dusk. It was very hard to leave the Pond House on Ingham Pond. Can’t wait to return.

Quiet, peaceful, and serene

The home is beautiful and new and has everything you will need. The kitchen is well stocked and stocked for a crowd with everything to prepare any meals or baking you may wish to do. The shower and bathrooms were very clean, large and nice. The beds are new and comfortable and the fireplace is easy to work and burns very clean with ample fire wood provided. Views of the pond from the living room and kitchen through the bay windows are lovely. The pond is very quiet with only fishermen and kayakers using it. The outdoor fire pit has amble seating and there are many watercrafts all in excellent shape available to use. It’s on a private road so there is no road noise. It’s completely quiet on the pond. The hosts were very pleasant and easy to communicate with and very helpful. If you go in apple season they have several varieties on the property and when they saw we were picking some (we had asked for permission before hand) they left us out apple pickers to reach the higher branches, very thoughtful. We found several local farm stands to do all of our shopping at for local meats, veggies, fruits, cheeses, breads, and even local ice cream! (Stevenson, Elvins, Winterberry, Belle Vue, Emery, to name a few!) 10/10 would stay again!

We live year round on Ingham Pond and are available to assist in any way that we can.

What makes this property unique

Very private and secluded yet only 20 minutes away from goods and services. Awesome views for picture taking. A kayaker's heaven.
The winter brings on a whole new world with awesome ice fishing for large pike and crappie along with many trails for cross country skiing or hiking right from your door step. Bald eagles are very prevalent, especially during the winter months.
