Children can splash in the gentle waves and frolic on the beach here. "Als" is known for its mild climate and as a peaceful oasis of Denmark. You are here not far from Sønderborg, where you can enjoy a café and a walk in the Hafgen. There are also excellent swimming beaches on the nearby Kegnæs peninsula, which you can drive to quickly. The fishing grounds offer salmon, cod, horn fish and plaice. Visit the old mills in the area and also the old Augustenborg Castle with a castle park worth seeing.
