About this property

Breathtaking views from Casa Gisela

Welcome to Casa Gisela! A private and secure home sitting in the hills overlooking Lake Arenal. Enjoy breathtaking views of sunsets across the lake, while enjoying the covered back terrace, the 180 degree panoramic views from the dining room and the 3 spacious bedrooms. This house was the architect and builders’ house who built this ‘Las Flores’ gated community.

The house has all the comforts you will need for your stay - a fully equipped kitchen with stove and oven, microwave, toaster, coffee maker and tea kettle, 3 spacious and bright bedrooms with plenty of bed linens and fluffy pillows to fall into after a long day of exploring beautiful Costa Rica. We also provide plenty of towels, a fully equipped laundry room with a washer, dryer and ironing board, and 2 desks (1 in a designated office) for those looking to work or school from home, as well as fibre optic high speed internet to stay connected.

The covered back terrace has an outdoor dining set to seat 6 - the perfect spot to have breakfast while the sun rises over the lake, or if sun rise is too early, a beautiful brunch while listening to the many tropical birds and howler monkeys. The backyard and pool area are private and secluded.

The house is situated close to many amenities in the town of Arenal (5 minute drive) and La Fortuna (40-45 minute drive), including:

- a variety of excellent restaurants
- horseback riding
- hot springs (from the nearby volcano)
- spas
- yoga
- zip lining
- ATV’ing
- supermarkets / grocery stores
- hikes and nature walks
- boat tours
- fishing + fishing tours
- wind surfing

A beautiful private spot

We spent 2 weeks at Freya and Pia's house, our second time renting in the beautiful Las Flores community, designed and built by their grandfather. Casa Gisela is the crowning jewel of the area, with its breathtaking sunset views over the lake. The area is peaceful, safe and gorgeous, lacking the scorching hot temperatures of the Pacific coast. The average daytime temperature during our stay was between 23 and 25 Celcius. The house is well equipped, spotlessly clean and very comfortale, with lovely outdoor areas under the cover of a wide roof which protects from both the sun and rain and a nice pool. We love the "secret path" walking trails in the nearby forest, the small town of Nuevo Arenal with all you need, including great bakeries, excellent organic produce, a few great spots for excellent coffee, Friday morning yoga classes with Kirsten, the property manager, the lake park, the morning market in Aguacate every 3rd Wednesday of the month, etc. Our very favourite nearby restaurant is El Corral, which serves beautitful food in amounts large enough for a second takeaway meal. The Casa Gisela property management team and staff are excellent and very responsive to any question or concern. Thank you all for your care of this beautiful property! Mimi and Dave, NS Canada

Hello! My sister and I are 2 Canadians who love to travel, and love to share our treasured family home in Costa Rica with other world travellers. Our grandfather was an architect and fell in love with Costa Rica, so much so that he built several houses into the hills above beautiful Lake Arenal, creating this small community called ‘Las Flores’; Casa Gisela is the home he built for himself and our grandmother. We look forward to welcoming you!
