About this property

Fee-ling the Chain of Lakes- kayaks & paddle boat included

Welcome to lake living in Livingston County, MI! At the heart of it is, The Huron River Chain of Lakes. It is a dream come true to a diehard lake lover. It is home to an eight-mile connection of nine lakes: Big Portage, Little Portage, Baseline, Zukey, Strawberry, Whitewood, Gallagher, Ore, and Tamarack Lake.
Our beautiful lake house is located on Strawberry Lake, which is on the eastern edge of the chain and offers beautiful lake views of the sunrise each morning! Our home will comfortably sleep 6 people. The home is fully furnished with everything you would need for a short or lengthy stay (including washer and dryer). It is ready for you and your family to make new memories at the lake! This home is perfect for kids and adults who love to be outside and enjoy the water!
Our lake home offers a variety of activities to keep your family and friends entertained. We have a 4-seat paddle boat(seats are on the rough side), canoe, 2 Adult kayaks and a 3 child sized kayaks that you are more than welcome to take out on the lake. Also available for use are numerous fishing poles with hooks. Just swing into one of the numerous hardware stores or marinas and pick up some live bait. Once you figure out the meal of the day, throw it on the grill and take a load off on the outdoor patio set. After dinner relax around the fire pit and play a few games of corn hole. There is also a goldfish pond on property, but please no fishing. If you have little ones, please use caution as there is no fence.
If you are wanting to venture out away from the lake, there are plenty of State Parks nearby to explore. Both Brighton Recreation Area and Pinckney Recreation Area offer excellent walking/biking trails among other outdoor activities. The beautiful Lakeland Trail is a few minutes away and is perfect for that morning run or evening bike ride to Cap’n Frosty’s Ice Cream.
We do dock our pontoon boat at our lake house, and it does not come with the stay. We will take out the boat as desired even when house is rented out.
We do allow dogs at our home (Limit 2). They must always be on a leash while on property. Please don’t allow them on the furniture at any time. Please make sure you clean up after them outside.
Docking is available for your boat, but due to limited parking at the house we will offer storage at our home for a fee of twenty five dollar’s.
Boat Launch Info: If you bring your own boat, the nearest boat launch is just a mile up the Road called “Lakeland Marina”. It does cost $10 to use the launch.
Our home is conveniently located close to US 23, I-94, and I-96. Also located nearby are beautiful towns such as Howell, Brighton, South Lyon, Ann Arbor, Dexter, and Chelsea. We would love for you and your family to make wonderful memories and enjoy our beautiful lake home as we do. We look forward to hearing from you and Keep Calm and Live the Lake Life!

We were there to see people in Ann Arbor. We didn't really stay at the property except to sleep.

Easy access, would be nice in the summer. The kitchen was well equipped. Michelle answered out question very quickly.

Not what it appeared

Very very busy channel location with lots of boat traffic…could barely see actual lake from back deck. Adequate interior but very dated and outdoor grill was filthy. I was extremely disappointed in this listing and decided not to stay.

Nice Property

We were pleased with our stay at the cottage. It was clean and in a good location to take advantage of the lakes and the various parks in the area.

Father son trip

House was nice and clean, furniture was great with the exception on the bunk beds were very noisy and not very comfortable for adults. Well equipped kitchen with everything you should need. Right on the lake with a nice dock for the boat, plenty of bluegill fishing right off the dock and good bass fishing throughout the lake.

Great Outdoors

Property was even nicer than the pictures. The yard at the back of the property is huge! Great for Kids and bags playing! Catch fish right off the dock. Bass. Bluegill. And even a few Northern. Watch the kids running around the yard as adults can sit on the deck or in the yard at many times of the day in the shade of some very large trees. Swam right off the dock as well. But the ladies liked floats to stay above the Weeds. Although it dropped off quickly to a weedless area… The Kayaks and Canoe were great for the adults and kids. The River to the right of the cabin has a current and is great for fishing with the canoe and Kayaks… Rented a pontoon boat at Wonderland West which was a great time and wish we would have had the boat even longer. Would love to explore the Chain of Lakes more.. Had several fires in their fire pit which was enjoyable at night. We had no negative commmets about the property. With one Full Bathroom it sleeps 6 comfortably (4 adults 2 kids). The inside decore is great for a Lake Cabin and very comfortable. Providing. Fire Wood. A few fishing poles. Canoe. Kayaks. Life vests. Washer and dryer. And all the necessities in a kitchen were all well thought out details. We would rent again at the same place and just rent a boat longer… Michelle was very attentive via emails, but not intrusive at all and wanted to make sure we had a great trip..

Wonderful House, Gracious Hosts

The property was exactly as listed and Michelle was a very gracious host. We loved cooking in the kitchen, there were plenty of extras available of things we had forgotten, and the view of the lake was fantastic.

Home away from home

The property was clean, well maintained, we only used one of the bedrooms and it was comfortable. The living room, bedroom, and the family room all had smart TV’s (Roku). Wifi was a bit dodgy so we played battle ship, took the boats out with the dogs, and enjoyed dinner on the patio overlooking the lake. Michelle, our host, was really responsive and accommodated all of our needs. All in all it was a great stay with an attentive host!

We had a great time!

We had a nice time. We brought our boat and went fishing and tubing. Had a couple bon fires. And played some card games when the weather wasn't cooperating. I love that it was close to Krogers and places to eat at also. I would definitely recommend it for a vacation.
