About this property

Sand & Snow - Remodeled / Great Location! Walk to Downtown and Beach!

This is a wonderful, family-friendly ranch-style home in a great location in the downtown Frankfort residential area! Gorgeous home that has been recently renovated! Features great use of technology with central air conditioning, exceptional 400 Mbps Wi-Fi, and digital streaming with Hulu, PureFlix, Netflix, Max, and Disney+ all included across 3 televisions. Includes a game / entertainment room plus a washer and dryer in the basement!

We have a local property manager that lives in the area and is available to address any questions or issues.


NEIGHBORHOOD:

The house is set in the middle of Frankfort's very cute and charming downtown residential area. It's only a couple blocks from downtown Frankfort and a very easy walk to shops, restaurants, and cafes. Frankfort Beach and Lake Michigan is only 0.6 miles from the house, which works out to about a nice 10 to 15 minute walk from the house.

Outside of Frankfort, Crystal Lake is just 10 minutes away, the start of Sleeping Bear Dunes National Lakeshore is only a 20-minute drive from the house, and downtown Traverse City with it's shops, restaurants, entertainment, and nightlife is only a 1-hour drive away!


THE SPACE:

All 3 bedrooms and both full bathrooms are located on the main floor! In the partially-finished basement, there is a entertainment / game / kids room as well as a washer and dryer that is available for guests to use.

Outside, the house has a nice large deck with a new gas grill and nice new bonfire ring for great family bonfires with s'mores!


TRANSIT:

It is recommended that guests have their own vehicle, but it's very possible to get by without a vehicle if you wish to stay right in Frankfort the entire time.

So convenient

We know Frankfort very well having been born there and visiting our many relatives over the years. Really nice back yard with the fire pit. Close to everything. Loved the remodel on the kitchen but could have used a few more gadgets, but I cook all the time , so For most people probably fine. Thank you so much

Good time as usual. Pleasant stay. A bit noisier than we would have liked due to the main road and proximity of the neighboring house on the master bedroom side of the house. Price is reasonable. Don’t care for the security deposit method/refund timing. But would recommend based on convenience.

Summer Vacation

The property was great for our family vacation. The location was within walking distance to downtown shopping, the beach, and the grocery store. Our teens appreciated the rec room in the basement. The property was very clean.

Wonderful family stay

My wife and I stayed for a week with two of our kids, 15 and 6. Very comfortable accommodations, climate control was perfect, the back yard was very nice, and the kitchen was well stocked. The linens were very clean, the only thing lacking from the entire stay was a dish towel. I only mention that to highlight how little there was to criticize. It’s a short walk to everywhere you’d want to go, we hardly used the car for our entire trip. I would highly recommend.

Gwen’s Place is great!

We had a wonderful relaxing stay at Gwen’s place in August. The home was clean and comfortable, had plenty of space, the yard was great and we enjoyed the fire pit many days and evenings. The neighborhood was quiet and within walking distance to many downtown shops and restaurants. A bit longer of a walk led to the beach. We found everything we needed in the kitchen, and there was enough space for all 6 of us to sit together for a meal. We will definitely consider staying again when in the area!

Walking Distance

Property is walking distance to Downtown Frankfort and Lake Michigan. Will be more convenient when construction of Forest Ave is completed. Clean, A/C, Internet, multiple TV's. Definitely rent here again.

The communication process was good from the beginning. Everything was prepared for us on arrival. The check-in process was smooth as well. The house is well equipped for a long- or short-term stay. Grill and a fire pit are a good way to relax in the evening. Recommended!

House had a terrible smell, musty. Washed the food off the kitchen light over the sink. Blankets were smelly. Master bath shower door falling off. Master bath vanity door not attached. Magnet strips over the heat vents? Blinds in slider kept falling off.

Spring 2022 in Frankfort

Really liked this property-it felt like home. Excellent location for walks through town & to the beautiful beach. The manager was great any concerns we had were dealt with immediately. Hope to return soon.

Perfect place to stay!

The house is so cute and very clean. It was perfect for our family of 7. Convenient enough the kids (21-12) were able to walk to the beach and the downtown shopping area. Everything we needed to fix our own meals, besides the food, was right there for us. Great kitchen table for family game nights. Definitely would recommend to stay here.

Great location! We stayed there while skiing at Crystal Mountain. 25 minute drive to the hills!!! House had plenty of space and very clean. Nice to be able to walk downtown to restaurants and bars.

Great Adventure base

Gwen’s place is so close to all Frankfort has to offer and has plenty of other adventures within 15-30 minutes drive. My friends and I stayed for an extended Crystal Mountain ski weekend and it was a great to have such a comfortable and spacious spot to come back to after a long day on the slopes.

Perfect Spot to Enjoy Winter in Northern Michigan
