This was our first time using Vrbo to rent a house in the mountains. The location of this house was so convenient to a lot of amenities. The house felt like a home away from home. The host Jen was great.
It was great. The host were awesome could get in contact easily. It was beautiful it was clean, the town was awesome. My family had a great time. It is really beautiful.
We had a wonderful time. We had 4 granddaughters with us and they loved the house. Loved skiing/snowboarding at Blue Mountain. Our16 year old granddaughter said “it was the most fun that she had in a very long time “. We will be back
This was a family trip. My husband and I were with our kids, ages 17-22, and my parents. There was plenty of place to sleep and the beds were pretty comfortable. My kids especially enjoyed the pool table and the arcade games. We all enjoyed walking around the quiet neighborhood, watching the wildlife and playing card gems. We also enjoyed some of the extras, like a live band at the clubhouse and the tennis courts. The location was perfect for visiting Jim Thorpe, which was the reason for our staying in the area. It is also very close to Hickory Run State Park and we spent an afternoon hiking the Shades of Death tail there. The host was easy to communicate with. Texts were answered very quickly. There’s no air conditioning but we were comfortable with the windows open and the fan on. One thing to note: there are bedrooms and a full bathroom on the bottom floor but the main kitchen in on the second floor. Having a parent with some mobility issues, I was initially worried that this wouldn’t work well for us. But in the end it was fine, as the stairs were carpeted and had a railing that made it possible for my mom to successfully manage the stairs. However, for some this might pose a problem. Overall, this was a great place to stay and we highly recommend it!
This was our first family trip to the Poconos. We typically do NJ or NC beaches. The house was indeed spacious and had everything that we needed. The outside grill could use an update. The community as a whole doesn’t allow outside fire pits or fireworks. The street we were on was pretty quiet and peaceful. The community is a mix of people who live there all year or own and stay during summer. There were renters around but it seemed more like owners.
The lake, beach and pool were great. Our kids loved every minute. They are very strict at the clubhouse and amenities - make sure you have your wrist bands. If you want to use your own kayaks, etc. you have to ask property owner to get approval for you. If you plan to fish, make sure you have your PA fishing license.
The house was stocked with fun games, pool table and pac man and mortal kombat machines. The beds are comfy. No central air is tough in the midst of summer but they had lots of tower fans and some window fans. Deer come right to the yard and quietly roam the streets. The community is close to Lake Harmony, split rock water park, stores as needed, mini golf and restaurants. Chat and chew has delicious breakfast!
Overall, we had a great stay!
