The property was as advertised. Everything was clean and in a peaceful location. We were a bit surprised at the size of the "lake" as it ended up being more of a pond. We did take the kayaks out but the water is pretty nasty and not ideal for swimming or fishing. That was all fine though because thr purpose of our trip was to float the Spring River. Overall a great stay and i would return.

Serene, Tranquil & Relaxing Stay
Upon arrival I was not impressed with some of the "junk" like old RV's, etc. around the area. We arrived late so it was hard to see and find the house. I was a bit nervous due to what I could see. The area is old and run down. The house wasn't as clean as I thought it should be. The towels and cookware need to be replaced. There is no dishwasher so you have to trust the person before you did a good job or hand wash what you use before you use it! Outside of all that, we loved the stay. I loved getting up in the morning and opening all of the miniblinds because the view is awesome! The girls loved being able to go kayak when they wanted. I didn't have to worry about them because the body of water is big but not too big and it was so calm. Although you feel like you are out in the woods, town is very close by. All in all we'd go back!
Was really easy this property. Justus was helpful. House is very clean and has everything you need, bring your food and drinks. Saved us on cooking meals instead of eating out every meal. I highly recommend this property.
The views on the lake are impressive! The ducks were so friendly. This time of the year, the water was cold but the use of the water toys made us forget that! My grandsons spent many hours on the lake, and of course, feeding the ducks! The heat/air conditioner work great. The owners are at getting back with you about absolutely any issue. The only issue I had was the air conditioning was on and we needed heat at this time of the year. I called and in less than a minute, the heat was on! I was a little nervous about the cabin being a duplex but the wrap around deck, picnic table and grill made the area seem so private and secluded. We all give this Spring Break Mini Vacay a 10!!! Thanks for a GREAT time!!! See you next time.
I would definitely book this place again . Everything was nice and clean. The deck that wraps around the duplex is wonderful. There was no one renting the other side while we were there so I can not comment on that . I would be a great place if you had a large family and friends you could rent both sides. It’s a flat walk in the front door which was nice for my Mother, there is two nice bedrooms and a full bath up stairs. Does have nice handrails to help if you have an older family member. Lots of windows to enjoy the view of the lake. We took the kayaks and the paddle boat out my grandson enjoyed looked for turtles.. we look forward to staying here again when coming to visit family in the area.
Cute duplex with a beautiful view! Justus was an excellent host! Great spot for fishing, and is also near the Spring River for a float trip! I highly recommended staying here!
The lodge itself was spotless and had everything we needed and then some. The high-speed internet was actually a huge draw for us since this was a working vacation for both me and my husband. And since it ended up raining 2 days while we were there, the teenagers very much enjoyed the Roku TVs! With limited restaurant options and not wanting to feel like we were slaving over dinner every night, the grill at the unit was a huge bonus! We made a grocery run into Ash Flat to Walmart the night we arrived and another quick stop at the local grocery store mid-week. Justus was super responsive with any questions we had!
The only downside is the former beach club resort this property sits on. When you first enter the resort, you see the old grown-up pool, tennis courts, and basketball courts. It does give you a "what have we gotten ourselves into?" feeling when you first arrive. We went ahead with this rental instead of one with a pool at nearby locations, thinking we would be able to enjoy the lake. Having access to the paddle boat and kayaks would be great if the lake was cleaner. We grew up swimming in ponds and lakes and usually have no issue with this, but this lake hasn't been drug in years. The algae and moss are at least 2 feet deep in spots and there is no aeration of any kind so the stagnant water is beyond unpleasant. We tried fishing but only saw evidence of a few carp. This is no fault of the owners of the property, but these rentals could do so much better if the lake was as nice as those just a mile up the road at Cherokee Village. The owners of the Kiwanie Lodge have done a great job updating the unit and making it comfortable and enjoyable. At the final rate we paid for the week, it would be nice if the surroundings were just as nice.
We did go down to Buford/Hardy Beach on Spring River on 2 different days to be on the water. It's just a 5-minute drive from the cabin.
Quiet location close to downtown Hardy and Walmart.
House is clean and furnishings are nice and comfortable.
Host responded quickly to check on a minor issue. The neighborhood had a brief power outage. He let us know the estimated time the power company gave for it being back on. It was back on 2 hours ahead of schedule.
The deck is large enough to set up and play corn hole.
Had a wonderful stay!
Excellent and accurate listing. Pleasant and prompt communication. Will seek out property owners again due to their kindness and proper upkeep on their property. This house was perfect for a family getaway. Relaxing, safe and peaceful area.
Owners are nice, good communication, clean cabin, cool location, close to the beautiful Gunner pool on the white river.

About the host

Kiwanie Lodge is the third property to come into the OzarkStays portfolio. We kept having to turn guests away the past 2 summers due to how quickly our properties booked up. We needed additional properties to offer to our all the people coming to visit the Hardy, AR area.
After a long history of being a long term rental for local residents, the previous owner decided to retire and sell this duplex cabin. We saw the opportunity to share our beautiful lake with many more travelers and jumped on it!
Why they chose this property
We purchased this property because it was a great opportunity to expand our ability to host guests and open up the opportunity for more travelers to experience the joy of exploring Spring River country.
What makes this property unique
Private lake access and free use of kayaks. This is the largest lot on Lake Kiwanie. Peace and quiet while still being central to all local amenities.
