About this property
Coastal Contemporary Home in Edgartown
Coastal contemporary home on three peaceful acres in Edgartown. Down a quiet lane, this home offers a restful retreat from the hustle and bustle, yet is perfectly situated in a central location equidistant to downtown Edgartown, Oak Bluffs, Vineyard Haven, and Chilmark - ideal for those looking to explore the island! Rejuvenate outdoors amongst the field of wildflowers, or spend sunny days at Long Point Wildlife Refuge, one of the Vineyard's most spectacular south shore beaches.
Reminiscent of a row of four interconnected cottages, with classic gables, woven corner cedar siding, and white oak flooring throughout, the main living area and three bedrooms are all on the first level, with a partially enclosed loft bedroom on the second level.
Two separate wings encircle a central kitchen, living room, and dining area. Sun-filled and ideally suited for summer living, the open concept living space was designed to merge indoor and outdoor living.
The primary bedroom wing offers the utmost privacy. There is a king-size bed, TV, ensuite bathroom with shower and soaking tub, and two spacious walk-in closets.
There are two bedrooms in the guest wing, each with a queen-size bed, that share a hallway bath. An open stairway leads to a loft at the top of the stairs, partially enclosed by a half wall. On the opposite wall, a large glass window provides natural light in this sunny and bright space and allows for views of the backyard and field of wildflowers beyond. The loft offers additional living or sleeping space with two twin beds or can be set up as an office.
The kitchen is the heart of the home, with vaulted ceilings, an easy flow, and banks of glass that let the sunlight stream in. With plenty of seating, the kitchen is a great space for gathering. A large center island has seating for four, and a comfortable couch tucked between cabinets is a soft place to land to enjoy your morning coffee or a cocktail or two. French doors lead from the kitchen to the large bluestone patio, complete with a grill, outdoor
dining area, chaise lounges, and comfortable furniture. For those chilly evenings, a fire pit provides warmth and a glow to your outdoor entertaining.
