This was a great place for a weekend away with friends with plenty of room to spread out. The house was well stocked with everything we needed. The house was well decorated making it feel like home. We enjoyed our stay!
Took my wife here for her 40th birthday to take a break from our kids and have a 'slow' weekend. What a wonderful visit. Host was very communicative and helped with any/all questions we had. Next time we are going to bring our kids to enjoy the time with us. Sunrises/Sunsets are breathtaking. Peacefulness and quietness were a very welcomed break for those that live in the city. Would highly recommend for anyone wanting a peaceful retreat. Firepit was a great addition to add to that ambience.
We enjoyed our stay. The host has thought of everything. Quite country setting with beautiful rolling hills and bright stars at night.

The Farm was clean and quiet. The hosts were were helpful and kind. We will definitely stay here again and recommend it to others wanting to visit Benedictine College.
We had such a great stay here! Travel back in time with all the comforts of the modern age!
We loved watching the cows and enjoying the views! Such a peaceful setting and a beautiful home!
My kids loved blowing bubbles and watching them float over the valleys.
Wow! We wanted to find a farmhouse close to KC so that we could really relax and our granddaughter could explore. Our stay here was better than we could ever imagine. Right away, we knew we chose right… so clean, and everything ready and usable. Don’t hesitate, you won’t be able to find anywhere else this perfect. We will be back.
This home was great for our family and friends stay for my Son’s Benedictine College Graduation. It is about a 25 minute drive to the College but GPS gets you to and from easily and the drive on the country roads is nice, especially in the spring with everything being so green. The host, Christine, went above and beyond to make sure we were comfortable and had all we needed with many special touches and details including a S’mores basket! You can tell she takes great pride in the home she grew up in which is updated yet has a lot of its original charm. The house is immaculate and has beautiful views of the countryside from the upstairs bedrooms and front porch. The kitchen is equipped with all you could need as is the bathroom. Christine was the best at responding to any questions or needs we had and lives up the drive if anything comes up. The only drawback I can think of would be that the house has only 1 bathroom which is upstairs. It is an old country home with lots and lots of charm and beauty but that is just how most older homes were built…only 1 bathroom! The bathroom was very clean, updated, and had all you needed including large, thick towels and we 5
adults managed just fine. It was not a problem. We loved all the outdoor seating areas which were great hang outs for the family. We would definitely stay again and highly recommend The Home Place which truly is a ‘home away from home’.
Highly recommended for a quiet stay in the country. Beautiful home, beautiful surroundings. Very spacious and cozy. If you want a moment of silence, this is the place. The property is stunning! Weston and Atchison are super close for outtings. Chris was an amazing host and was very prompt to answer any questions. Jusy loved it. Have nothing negative to say. Ill be staying again.
Our family of four enjoyed our four night stay over Thanksgiving. Great hosts! They even had the sidewalk shoveled first thing in the morning after an evening snowfall. Thanks!
The owners are super nice and accommodating. They had coffee and coffee makers in the house. All the beds are made. Everything was extremely clean and ready for us when we got there. I would highly recommend this place. It has great views. And plenty of parking. Also, the porch is nice for sitting out and having a cocktail I would give more than five stars if it was an option.
Great spot for friends to meet. Comfortable & secluded. Clean. Great support from Christine. The five of us had a really great time at this house and the surrounding area.
We had a lovely stay at the house for our weekend getaway! The house was very clean and welcoming. The surrounding land was well kept and beautiful! We didn’t get a chance to use the fire pit due to rain but all the supplies were prepared. Very nice spot for a quiet get away!
Cozy cute cottage. Very clean. Had thought of everything you could ever need. Very beautiful house with a great view. Perfect for our friends 40th Birthday.
We had such a special stay at the Home Place. We loved the acres of farm land, waking up and looking at the cows out the window, and being just 20 min. from skiing. The owner was incredibly hospitable.
Our family stayed here for Thanksgiving this year. Christine was very easy to communicate with and promptly answered all our questions. The house itself is great and very well appointed. Other than food the house was equipped with everything we needed for a long weekend stay. It's an older home but that only adds to the charm of this property.
If you're looking to get away from the city but not feel like you're roughing it, this is the place for you.
We will be back.
Our son got married at Laurel Brooke Farm, which is a short 10 minutes away from here, so it was very convenient. The bonus was that it is a beautiful old home in the quiet country side. We loved everything about it.
