About this property

Forest Edge Cabin @ Cook Forest and Clear Creek

This is a fully private Log Home on a wooded lot near Clear Creek State Park, Cook Forest and the Clarion River. Features a covered porch, beautiful stone wood burning fireplace, cathedral ceilings and log furniture throughout. Enjoy all of the modern amenities in a secluded and scenic location. This is an ideal location for nature enthusiasts which offers quick access to local tourist attractions but also offers solitude and beautiful scenery.

The Forest Edge Cabin can comfortably sleep 8 people with 3 bedrooms and 2 full baths. 2 bedrooms each have 1 queen bed. 1 bedroom has 2 sets of bunk beds. The dining room and living room comfortably seat 8 people.

There is on-site wi-fi and 2 smart TV's for your personal use. Wi-fi could be unavailable at times due to service outages or inclement weather.

All linens, towels, cooking, baking, dishes and utensils are available for you to use during your stay. Washer, dryer, stove/oven, refrigerator, dishwasher, microwave, toaster, crock pot, electric skillet, coffee maker and Keurig available. We have also provided an iron board with iron and 2 hair dryers. Our home has a fireplace, furnace, reverse osmosis drinking water system and air conditioning.

You can enjoy the back deck, covered front porch and fire pit. You are welcome to pick up sticks to use as kindling. Do not cut down trees. We recommend purchasing firewood prior to your stay. There are 8 adirondack chairs outside by the back deck that you are welcome to take by the fire pit to relax in. Please return them to the back deck prior to check out.

This is also our personal vacation home so we have the garage and 2 closets locked for our personal belongings. There is still ample storage for your family during your stay. We have outdoor video surveillance on the property for yours and our protection. 1. Camera on the front porch facing front walkway and driveway. 2. Ring Doorbell. 3. Camera near garage doors facing driveway. 4. camera in back of house facing back yard and part of back deck. 5. There is also a camera in the basement to monitor our equipment when the home is not in use.

No pets permitted.

The bunkbeds have a maximum weight per person of 180 pounds. Please consider this when booking our cabin.

This is a fully private home but with that comes routine tasks such as lawn mowing, snow plowing and trash removal. It is possible that the landscaper will mow the lawn during your stay or that the trash service will arrive to empty the dumpster. We have also had occasional visits by utility companies that we are not always aware of in advance.

Please note that this location can get more snow than surrounding areas and snow removal service is unreliable. It is possible you could have several inches of snow with no plow service during your stay. We try our best to coordinate this service but have not had great experience due to location and limited service availability. During the colder season, we will have a shovel and snow salt available for you to use for the front walkway/entrance way. The driveway is also marked with reflective stakes.

Forest Edge Cabin in the snow

Impressive carpentry throughout, from the log walls to the stump supporting the kitchen table. A great fireplace and a big living room space in front of it. Beds are very comfortable, the towels fluffy, and the kitchen adequate, if a little tight if too many people gather there. Fresh snow made the property appropriately magical on the days before Christmas. The long, snow-covered driveway, although flat, was a bit of a driving test in the dark.

No up to expected standards

We lit the gas grill and it caught fire from not being clean. Kitchen was bare essentials not like other places we stayed. Could not fine broom mop if we needed to clean something up. This was not up to standards of our previous VRBO rentals.

Cozy Cabin

This house has a cozy atmosphere. It is very clean and relatively new. Lots of space for hanging out inside or out and large well appointed kitchen. Area is great for star gazing and close to the state park. Perfect for a long weekend with our family.

We bought this home with plans for it to be our retirement home. While we are still raising our children, we must remain in our current home in our current town so we share this cabin with others. This helps us offset our costs and allows others to enjoy the beautiful home and property. We fell in love with this Cabin and hope you love your time there too!

Why they chose this property

We love exploring outdoors and what better area that is close to our primary residence than Cook Forest, Clear Creek and the Allegheney Forest.

What makes this property unique

It is a beautiful, ranch, log home in a private setting with vaulted ceilings and a wood burning fireplace.
