Renovated Townhouse On The Water #5

This historic building is formally known as the Chassell Community Center and was home to three consecutive state championship teams in the late 1950's. This beautiful piece of history was converted to residential living in February of 2022 and features a spacious open-concept layout, an upper and lower floor plan, high ceilings, hardwood floors, and modern finishes. *More photos to follow soon Because we wanted to create a stay that is both relaxing and as care free as possible, we added all the amenities of home to help you feel comfortable and at ease. - WIFI/Cable - Keurig coffee pot and 12 cup coffee pot with supplied coffee/tea - Dish cloths with supplied dish detergent - Washer/Dryer with supplied detergent - Shampoo/Conditioner/Body Wash - Bath/Hand Towels, Washcloths This property is adjacent to the Chassell Centennial Park which provides direct access to the beach, boat launch, fishing docks, and playground. There is a general store within walking distance for much added convenience. Michigan Tech/Finlandia University are both an easy six minute commute. There is parking for two vehicles directly in front of the unit. Overflow parking is available in the public parking lot adjacent to the property. We are available 24/7 via phone, text, AirBnB, or email if you should need anything before, during, or after your stay. Self check-in and check-out make it easy and convenient for you to come and go on your schedule. Access to the townhouse is provided via a keyless entry code. Awesome modern property!

We’ve stayed at this property before, just a different unit. We were excited to find this unit because we were previously told this property was being changed to long term rentals. Always love this property because the units are like new, modern, and always clean. We hope to stay here again next year when we come for our annual trip!

Great weekend

Overall everything was great. A couple notes. We could not get the WiFi to work and the entrance to the street is very hard to see. Very cute space, loved the complimentary tea and coffee. Check out was super easy and the location was perfect for visiting MTU. Will definitely consider staying here again!

Thank you for this beautiful location in the UP. Love the little extras like the microwave popcorn and coffee. Beds were comfy and the view of the lake and park were amazing. While we did not spend much time inside we would stay again while visiting MTU.

This was a very lovely place to stay. Differently will stay again. Communication between the property manager was excellent!! she was very helpful. The place was very clean and had plenty of space and all the necessities. Very close to MTU. And I really like that they turned and old building into something new.

Comfortable and convenient

The property was beautiful and modern with everything we needed to feel comfortable and relaxed on our vacation. Wonderful view of Portage lake and conveniently located to all the things we wanted to do in the Keweenaw. We felt very much at home there.

Stayed for MTU Winter Carnival Weekend. Close enough to campus to be an easy drive. Great location. Beautiful home! So much space & everything was provided. Comfy beds. The view of the lake was amazing!

Beautiful Property in Great Location

Lovely property! Former community center that has been converted to 5 units. Very clean and comfortable with lots of amenities. Next to the lake and park and close to the Chassell General Store. I highly recommend it and would definitely stay there again!

Clean & Accurate

This venue provided my family with a very comfortable stay. It is very clean and well stocked with toiletries, laundry abilities, and kitchen needs. The hosts have provided great communication within the unit - instructions on wifi, local favorite picks, and check our procedure. There is a wonderful view of the lake and park within a few steps. The listing is very accurate.

This place is great! My family and I stayed here. Lovely location right in Chassel. The property is only a couple hundred feet off of the water. Can't say enough great things!

Perfect location

My husband and I rented this beautiful and well equipped townhome as our “base camp” for our exploration of the Michigan UP. The townhome provided a relaxing place to come home to every evening after our excursions to Porcupine Mountain, the Quincy Mine, Copper Harbor, Bond waterfalls, and Pictured Rocks. Portage Lake is quiet and fun to see the fishermen out on the lake. The trails near the house were an excellent place to go for a walk in the evenings and the stars are amazing from the Chassell townhomes! The beds were comfortable and kitchen is well equipped. We definitely recommend this townhome!

Great place for families

This is a nice property for families. The beach and playground and right outside and even with the crowds from Strawberry Festival it was quiet inside. The layout is great and gives everyone their own space. Really convenient check in and check out and very minimal tasks to complete prior to leaving. The finishes also made it super easy to clean up after our kids.

Meeting Our Needs

This is our second stay in this townhouse. The townhouse is near our family but it allows for our own space and cooking facilities. We thoroughly enjoy watching all the activity at the Chassell Township Park. The location provides many safe places to walk.

Great place!

New, clean, super easy to access. Even though it’s right by the park and there was plenty of traffic from the ice fishermen, it’s quiet in the townhouse. Perfect location for spending time with our Tech student 😁.

Excellent! Would definitely stay here again

This condo is in a great location for visiting Michigan Tech... 10 min drive. We only had 3 individuals in our party, which was perfect as we each got our own room and there are two bathrooms, but it could handle 6+ people. This unit is on the ground floor with parking right outside the door. Very convenient, great kitchen (missing a few essential utensils... so you may need to visit WalMart in Houghton), and very clean. Recently renovated. Good internet connection, Smart TV, etc... pretty new appliances, dishwasher, washer and dryer etc... Hoping it's available next time we visit Michigan Tech!

Beautiful Townhouse

This townhouse is beautiful and had everything one would need while staying in the area. We enjoyed our stay here very much while visiting our sons at MTU. It was the perfect location and had the perfect layout. We loved the views of the water. The only complaint we had was the mattress in the master bedroom was not comfortable, extremely firm.

Fabulous!

Brand new unit so lacking a few things- needs coasters, spaghetti pot, griddle, crock pot (for snowmobilers), hooks to hang wet gear, more hand towels, and WINE GLASSES! Lol! Beautiful place in a great location close to Michigan Tech! Definitely will try to come back. Thanks!!!

Beautiful place, great location!

Their townhome is immaculately remodeled and the location on the lake is just lovely. We were there too short of time to take advantage of the lake, but we enjoyed ourselves immensely.
