Nice two bedroom one bath rustic home close to the center of town. We traveled here for a wedding and this cottage worked perfectly. It is an old home with much character.

Love this property. Great location for excursions. Yard is private and bikes are great.
Very cute property, love the location near the great coop and down from the bakery. Host was very welcoming. Also loved the shower and the pellet stove!
A wonderful cottage at the gateway to the redwoods
This sweet cottage was just what we were looking for on a weekend trip to visit the Avenue of the Giants. Adorable vintage feel (including a claw foot tub!), comfy beds and an enclosed garden space. Great communication with property manager, wonderful hospitality and a cheerful and welcoming vibe. Would stay again!

Truly a quaint cottage - but spacious enough for two couples. Well appointed - everything you need is there. The beds were comfortable, it was very clean and the garden is fascinating with it's variety of plants. It is an interesting little place!
We just did a quick overnight. The house was quaint and met our needs for the night. The listing indicated a garage and there was only street parking. Other than that, it fit what the listing indicated.
Sleeps 3-5 easily if you share the main beds. Pellet stove very easy to operate and can heat the entire place. Plenty of pillows for the beds and lots of throw pillows too. Quiet location, diner around the corner. Coffee maker, hot water kettle, stove and microwave. Powerful shower if you like that sort of thing. Nice backyard courtyard to hang out in if the weather is nice. Washer and dryer are a nice plus as well. I’d definitely stay here again.
Small, charming cottage with a lovely garden area. If you have mobility issues, getting into and out of the (wonderful) old claw foot tub, necessary for bath or shower, can be a challenge, but otherwise comfortable. Great host responsiveness.
First impression wasn’t great because there were quite a few sketchy people hanging around and many of the nearby properties are run down. It was pretty warm when we arrived but once we found the window ac in the first bedroom, that helped. Once we sat in the back garden and enjoyed the peace and a glass of wine we started to feel more safe and comfortable.
I would like to recommend a hair dryer - if it was there I never found it. Wine glasses would be a nice addition too :). All in all we really enjoyed our time at Mary’s Cottage and found it very close to the Redwoods which was our reason for coming.
Thank you!
This property was very private and quaint. It was my husbands first time to see the Giant Redwoods. This property is centrally located to see the Giant Redwoods, The Lost Coast, and even to experience the Skunk Train in Fort Bragg!
We loved it!!
Mary’s place is clean and comfortable. Very rustic but to be fair we spent very little time in Garberville. We attended a family reunion at Humboldt State Park about 15 min away. It was super easy to check in with keyless lock.
Very charming place and served our needs well! The backyard garden is a great place to gather. The house accommodated two adults and three children. The washer and dryer helped us stay on top of the laundry. Tami and the rest of the team do a great job of maintaining the house and making you feel at home!
It was a sweet place. Comfortable, clean and has all one needs. Across from the health food store, around the corner from the cafe and more. Appreciate the thoughtfulness displayed for guests.
This is a beautiful old house filled with Garberville history. It's quaint and charming filled with your basic necessities yet has the modernity of killer WIFI! The beds are comfortable and the linens are soft. The host is attentive and responsive and takes exceptional care to make sure the place is welcoming. There's a fruit garden you can eat from and a health food store across the street; a win- win!! I look forward to spending additional time there in the future.
Tami was an excellent host. We were allowed to check in an hour early and found it extremely easy to do a self-check-in. The house was charming and very clean. The beds were a dream and we slept like babies. We were able to walk all around town, and to three excellent restaurants (Cecil's, Woodrose Cafe, and Humboldt Bar and Grill).
There were a few minor glitches. We found four drinking glasses in the cupboard that were quite dirty. I alerted Tami to the problem and, given the cleanliness of the house, I'm sure she will fix it in the future.
Neither bedroom is super private. One is off the kitchen without completely closed-in walls, and the other has glass French doors off the living room. That said, it worked fine for my husband and me, and the other couple staying with us.
Given the rundown state of Garberville, the property seemed a little overpriced. We rented with a few days' notice and were happy to find something nice and clean at the last minute. But we felt the price might be dropped a bit to be more in line with its surroundings.
All in all, however, we enjoyed our stay.
We repeatedly told one another how perfect for us Mary's Place is; how lucky we were. It is much better than we'd expected. Perfect location and ambience. We'll be back.
Adorable cottage with private garden. Perfect location to explore lost coast.
Ended our California vacation at this lovely cottage in Garberville. Traveling with our dog, this was his favorite spot. The garden was a wonderful place to eat our breakfast and plan our day's adventures. To return to and sip wine in the evening while marveling about our days in the majestic redwoods and beaches of the lost coast. Clawfoot tub and gas cooking were a plus! Having the natural grocery across the street, and the location close to so many quaint towns and attractions makes Mary' s cottage a place to remember and return to!
