The wide sandy beach of Rømø is unique and attracts vacationers from near and far year after year. The beach is open, shallow and up to 4 km wide. Here it is allowed to drive to the beach in a car. Countless small animals and microorganisms live in the sand, which gives it stability. The whole ecosystem depends on twice daily flooding, the so-called tidal range. In Ribe is the Wadden Sea Center, where you can find detailed information about the rich ecosystem, which is also called the larder of the earth.
