We had a great time with family and friends from 4 to 85! The kids especially liked the cabin and the pool. It’s a great spot with a lot to do and the beach very nearby and South Haven a quick drive to. We really enjoyed it.
There were 16 of us and each person enjoyed themselves. The house was large enough and unique in its style. Plenty of outside room and nearly things to do.
Michael was quick to respond if we needed anything. We would definitely rent from him again. Very pleased.
This estate was a perfect spot for our family reunion getaway. We were 18 people (mostly teens and adults), with plenty of space for all. The house is well appointed and very charming, with a large dining room for bigger gatherings and several smaller spaces for cozier interactions. Two of the 8 bedrooms are in the log cabin on the property, which the young adults loved to give them some independence! The property is beautiful and well-kept. The pond is not swimmable (which is fine because there is a pool!), but can float around or use the paddle boat provided. The owner is super easy to work with, and very responsive to needs and requests. All around we loved this place and would be happy to return if opportunity permits!
We held our women’s retreat at this beautiful home and it was perfect. The property is so serene. The house and cabin are so cozy with all the amenities you could ask for. It is very well stocked for a large group. Absolutely loved it!
We held our annual family reunion at the Seymour house and had a wonderful time. The house is cozy and comfortable with plenty of room for everyone. The pool and hot tub were a huge hit and the property is large enough for the kids to play soccer and other games.

Great for families to spread out
We had 18 family members met up coming from Michigan, Ohio, Texas, and Georgia. It was nice to have a big space to spread out and not feel on top of each other. We did make a pros and cons list:
CONS: update pictures online (pool, cabin, etc), landscaping was dead, owner not responding to messages online, there was a mouse/droppings in cabin, not knowing about having to make beds when we arrived, no WiFi in cabin, updated bathrooms/showers
PROS: well stocked kitchen with dishes and utensils, space for everyone to eat, pool/hot tub, clean, pool towels well stocked, gorgeous grounds.
Overall we had a great experience and it was really close to Saugatuck and South Haven. Kids enjoyed the pool and hot tub.
This property is beautiful and well cared for. The house is beautiful and well appointed in every way. Our family loved fishing in the pond, and the paddleboat, swimming in the pool, the hot tub and sitting around the fire pit. Kitchen was well equipped. Close to shopping and grocery. We loved wandering around South Haven and Saugatuck. Michael, the property manager was responsive and helpful. This is a perfect spot for a family vacation.
We had an amazing week at this lovely home. Kitchen was well equipped, ample seating for dinners and snacks. The weather cooperated so we were outside on the patio most of the time. The children fished and swam, really enjoyed the paddle boat. Pool was perfect to cool off in. A nightly fire rounded off a perfect day. Located short distances from South Haven and Saugatauk. My 4 yr old grandson came into the house and exclaimed "I just love this house!" It doesn't get better than that.
There were 10 adults, 2 older teens, 1 12 yr old and a toddler. There was plenty of room and space for different activities.
As a negative, it was difficult and sometimes impossible to get even warm water in the showers. Also, some of the bedding was very thin and almost ragged. The towels were wonderful.
Spacious home with a lot of character for a family reunion
We had a 20+ person family get together at this very beautiful former estate turned B&B turned VRBO. We loved that almost every room had its own bathroom, double fridges and dishwashers, plenty of plates and cups etc. Everyone enjoyed the hot tub, two BBQ grills made grilling dinner easy, the backyard was a great place for young and old alike to run around and play. The fire pit was perfect for campfire stories and s’mores. The host, Michael, was very responsive to our requests and issues. Just know that of the listed number of rooms, 2 rooms and a bathroom are separate from the rest of the main house in a cabin about 100yrds away on the same property, about a 3 minute walk from the back door.
Overall, I’m sure everyone would have loved to stay longer and enjoy the house.
The house description was false. It had mentioned one room upstairs was a queen bed but it was two twin beds put together covered with a sheet to make it look like it’s a queen bed. Bunkbed mattresses were horrible very thin and horrible condition. One of the showers did not work. The refrigerator was not working, wasn’t getting cold at all. There were not recent pictures of the house. House did not look as shown on some pictures. Cabin had a smell. Chairs were very flimsy. Tried to reach out to the numbers provided as soon as we reached the house, but no call back or response. Two weeks after our stay they charged us extra fees for cleaning when I paid extra for a cleaning service during the booking. I didn’t know I had to make the bed and clean every aspect of the house when I already paid a cleaning fee. Who would’ve thought going on vacation that they would have to clean the house instead of being on a vacation. Even after the fact me & my family went around the house to make sure everything was intact and picked up everything and threw out all the garbage. Also we gathered the used towels and placed them by the washer so it’s convenient for the cleaning service. After trying Multiple times reaching out to the owner about our trip with no replies, instead of trying to even acknowledge the issues, they charged us nearly $600 for another cleaning fee and lies. I’m very disappointed with vrbo and this vacation. Worst vacation ever.
We had a beautiful intimate wedding here. We had planned a beach wedding but it was too cold so we had the house as a backup. It’s a great place to stay.
Michael is very attentive and friendly host. The location is close to the beaches and other tourist spots. This property is ideal for family reunion. The kitchen is well equipped. Library is full of interesting books to read during downtime.
We had our extended families stay at the property. The house was in excellent condition. There was 10 acres for our use, which was a big plus. The kitchen was great for cooking. The pool, pond and hot tub got a lot of use. The location was good for going into Saugatuck many times. There was enough room for our family of 16 and everyone had a great time and would stay there again.
South Haven and Saugatuck are two of the prettiest beach towns on the west coast of Michigan, and this property is right between them, a short drive to either. Good town and beach access by car. Grocery store is ~10 minutes away.
The main house (sleeps 14) is large and spacious, and 4 of the 6 rooms have on-suite bathrooms, which is convenient. There is an additional 5th shared bathroom in the main house. Washer + dryer there. The kitchen is large and we cooked many large meals easily, also using the grill on the back patio. The pool and pond were big hits with our kids (ages 7+), and everyone (ages 3+) loved the large grass yard for games.
If you have more than will fit in the main house, you'll have to spill into the separate log cabin. This is a cute structure on the property, a short walk over the grass from the house. It has a separate small kitchen and a single bath, plus two bedrooms and a living area. Has A/C but no Internet, if that matters to your group.
We very much enjoyed our stay at the Seymour House. There was plenty of space for our family of 12 and lots to do on the property. The house was in very good shape for an older home. This a great place for family and outdoor time.
The house was PERFECT for a group of our size of 12 adults and 4 kids. There was plenty of space for everyone, even on the rainy day. The property is great for playing games in the huge yard and having bonfires. The dining room table was able to fit everyone and the updated kitchen made cooking enjoyable. The only downside is there really isn't a great place to watch movies with everyone, but that made us actually talk to each other more (so maybe a upside and downside).
This house was perfect for our group of 15. Four families and our kids had a lovely time here! It was nice to be able to sit at a table that was big enough for us. The home is absolutely stunning! Any question I had was answered immediately by the property manager. Such a great experience! Thank you for everything!
Thank you for a comfortable and thoughtful stay! We loved the thoughtful details of the Christmas tree, holiday music playing, extra dining room chairs and high chair! The property is beautiful, the bedrooms were comfortable and the kitchen space was enough for multiple people preparing meals. Thank you for helping us create a great memorable gathering with our family!
This was a great property for a family vacation! There was plenty of room and plenty to do for everyone. The pool was very nice and the pond provided for some great fishing. We were all very surprised how big the fish were in that pond! Of course, we released them all back to the pond. The house was well stocked with just about everything we needed. When we told Michael that the coffee pot wasn’t working and that we needed a blender, he went out and bought us a new coffee pot and a blender! Michael and Bruce were very attentive and accommodating. They were awesome hosts! I gave Michael a list of some minor problems around the house that we discovered and he emailed me to let me know that he fixed the problems and thanked me for letting him know. We all enjoyed our stay and made some great memories at this place!

While this property was only very recently acquired it has accommodated guests as a Bed and Breakfast for decades. Our plan is to use the winter months to open and combine the kitchen, butler's pantry and laundry rooms into a much large kitchen with two sinks, two dishwashers, two ranges, two ovens, two microwaves and two refrigerators. We intend to add an addition onto the back of the house to offer an second pool which will be indoors for use during the cooler months of the year.
What makes this property unique
Our unique benefits include fencing and extensive private grounds for great safe family experiences.
