Relaxing and refreshing

My husband and I really enjoyed the quiet neighborhood and the beautiful beach. We had fabulous weather and were able to fall asleep with the windows open, listening to the waves. Having a sandy beach was great just for sitting and relaxing. The lake water was so refreshing. We took a day trip up to Copper Harbor with stops at a few waterfalls along the way. We also enjoyed some time in Houghton. The home was clean and had everything we needed for our stay. Jan was available to answer questions via text throughout our stay. Would definitely love to come back for another visit.

Where the blacktop ends

This property was 100% the way it was advertised. It is in a beautiful location with comfortable accommodations. We enjoyed this property and hope to come back one day. The only down fall was all the mosquitoes. We were not prepared for that but bug spray helped!

June 2022

We stayed here for a week in June 2022. The cottage is clean and serene, located down an unpaved road on Lake Superior beachfront property. Owner has excellent communication and responsiveness. Wildlife is abundant in the area. All of the Keewenaw Penninsula is very accessible from this location. Would happily stay here again in the future.

Invasive owner

Just so you know what was upsetting here is a list of Your floors were filthy You did not list that you stayed onsite You told me you stay on site after I was on my way and then said you stayed across the street 100 yards away above the garage. You actually stayed next to the home 30 feet away above the garage. You tried to rush me the morning of departure by telling me 9 am when actually your books day 9:30am You tried to enter the home while I was showering and I was felt invaded when I came out of the shower in only my towel not expecting to see a stranger trying to barge in to the home to see how dirty the floor was. You offended me by telling me I didn’t bring my wife when you met her the day before???! Also we were told we can have a fire then you made up onshore winds that were not occurring and told me no fires. 🔥 after I brought an enclosed fire pit just for this reason after we spoke about this prior to my showing up. We also purchased firewood for this and had to leave it in the woods as we are not legally able to transport it out of the county

The perfect place to stay

I was so very impressed with the cottage! Looks just like the pictures and so very very clean! When we got there Jan came by to see that we were all set. She knew we had 2 little kids and made sure we knew were everything was for them. She even brought over a beach umbrella for us to use. The beach is the most ideal beach. Pure Sand! Grill to cook and picnic tables to eat on. A small side yard for the kids to play in. The kitchen had everything you may need. Great location to visit all over the peninsula but you really don't even want to leave! We will be back!

Charming and memorable!

My husband and 2 daughters (8 & 9) and I had an incredible time at the cottage and in the area. We were able to see the most incredible sunrises and countless stars! We heard the water at night, which sounded like the ocean. The cottage was clean, cozy and had everything we could need. We toured the Quincy mines, saw Lake on the Clouds, Porcupine Mountains, Brockway Mountains, Copper Harbor, many waterfalls and lighthouses, stopped at the Jam Lady, toured Fort Wilkins, brought our boat and fished some lakes and hiked to the Estivant Pines. Just thinking about it all is making me tear up. We all miss the cottage and area already. I most definitely recommend this cottage and area, it's just perfect! We will definitely be back, Jan! Thank you!!

Cozy cabin

We had a great time during our stay. It is a great place to hang out and relax while listening to the water or serve as a jumping-off spot for exploring the U.P. The cabin had everything we needed, was clean and comfortable. Jan is a wonderful hostess and made sure our needs were met.

Beautiful cottage

We decided to take a week to get away. What a perfect spot!! Right on the beach. The cottage is very clean and neat and has all the amenities one would ever need! The water was beautiful and the sunrises extraordinaire!! We saw eagles flying over the water and many different kinds of birds. The trees were absolutely gorgeous! We took a ride to Copper Harbor and it was so beautiful. We even saw a bear cross the road on our way there! I would highly recommend this place!! It's clean and quiet and a gorgeous beach!

Amazing cottage! Great location! Beautiful sandy beach!

We had a wonderful time at this sweet and cute cottage on the shores of Lake Superior. The cottage was very well-maintained and very clean and comfortable and had everything we needed and more. We really enjoyed the view of the Big Lake from the 2 different porches...and the view from the living room + bedroom were great too. The beach is lovely...we enjoyed walking along the pristine white sandy beach and chatting with the friendly locals + vacationers. It was warm enough that we were able to swim in the lake multiple times. We also took several trips up to Copper Harbor for some hiking and more swimming and were able to pick some wild blueberries + thimble berries on our hikes- what a treat. We recommend stopping at Fitgeralds in Eagle River off the beautiful stretch of M-26- great food + drink + hanging out on their back deck overlooking the lake is a great way to spend some of your vacation time. The cottage is close enough to some civilization, if you want a little of that, but perfect for just hanging out and relaxing on the beach or on the porches. The owner Jan was very friendly + helpful and got back to us quickly when we inquired about the property. This place is highly recommended and we'll definitely be back! Perfect place to get away from it all. Thanks Jan!

Excellent cottage, beautiful spot

We stayed for a week at the end of August, our 3rd time coming here. The cottage is sweet, well maintained, very clean, pretty much as depicted. The little screen porch in the front is especially pleasant in the mornings and evenings. Cottage feels bright and open despite modest size. The beach area is gorgeous, very shallow, which helps with the water temps, which vary with wind. No getting around that it is Lake Superior (cold) but kids seem unphased. There is a beautiful wetlands behind the beac road which you can access by kayak from down the beacH (and see from the window). Nice mountain biking nearby in Calumet; nice road biking once you are off the gravel access roads. Access to food coop in Hancock, but other grocery store in nearby Hubble. Very nice walking beach all along Little Traverse Bay. Owner is very friendly and helpful about the area.

Relaxing ,unplug from the world

The cabin is very clean and comfortable. It was fun to cook in Jan has a great retro oven, too cook with. We had two teenagers with us. The best was to watch them also relax and become kids again. Morning sunrise is wonderful. Walking the beach and just relaxing and having your feet in the water. Reading a book. It's is a wonderful place to just unplug from the word for the week or more. Thanks

Lake Superior Cottage

The cottage location is quiet, clean, and secluded with a spectacular view of Huron Mountains, Rabbit Island, and has an expansive half moon sand beach right outside the door. We took walks every morning, enjoyed relaxing in the comfortable cottage, especially breakfast on the screen porch oh what a view, slept like babies, thoroughly enjoyed every second. The back colors at sunset behind the cottage off the water were dazzling. Jan is a great host, highly recommend this gem of a private cottage. Lake Linden is minutes away for any thing you might need during your visit groceries, dining out, gas, ect.

Beautifult get away location!

We spent a week last summer (2009) in this rental. The weather was cool and rainy most of the time but it didn’t dampen our enthusiasm for this location. We had sandy Lake Superior beach at our front door and a lovely natural watershed at our back. We saw Sand Hill cranes, Bald eagles and all sorts of wildlife! The cottage was VERY clean, the beds super comfortable, the decorating cozy and we even had a piano to pluck away at! Jan, the owner, was friendly and attentive while being discrete. I would recommend this place to family and friends. As a matter of fact, my brother recommended it to me! Thanks Bro! And thanks Jan!
