Great cabin! The bedrooms are very spacious with comfortable beds. Owner does have to go on and fix the shower head and the tv upstairs. Besides that, everything is great.
This was a great property for my friends and I. We had a lot of fun and had no complaints about the property. The planning, check-in, and check-out were also very smooth thanks to David the owner!
It was a tad hot upstairs but overall very pleasant! ALSO you have now 4 bottles of maple syrup that have been accumulating over the years so have fun with that 😂 it was nice and cozy but it’s scary outside at night 😬 thanks again!
Everything was excellent and process was easy. Only little "complaint" was that the cooking pans/trays were a bit under cleaned.... No big deal as there was plenty of dish soap and we did the next group who stays there a favor and cleaned them up to a sparkle!
Would not hesitate to stay here again and again!!
The house is super cute, great location, quiet peaceful neighborhood in the woods! The only thing was the house was not very clean dust and cobwebs on the bedrooms, the door knobs were sticky, but otherwise a super cute place.
Me and 7 friends stayed two nights and it was perfect! There was snow on the ground and the fire was toasty. The cabin is a great size for it to feel homey and comfortable without feeling squished.
My two kids and dog stayed in this cabin for two nights. It was easy to find and located very close to local snow activity areas. The cabin was quite spacious, we only needed one floor, but it could easily accommodate more people. The kitchen had all the necessary basics. There was a nice hill on the side for sledding and the heating system worked well. We especially enjoyed the large kitchen table. Host was quick to reply to a message I sent.
Thank you for a wonderful stay! My husband and I were able to unwind and relax. We ended up getting snowed in with our two pups but were so thankful we had a place that kept us safe and warm. David was extremely accommodating and responsive since the day we booked. We appreciate it all so much. We were all very comfortable and will definitely be back.
We loved our stay at this beautiful, comfortable cabin in the woods. It was the perfect size for 2 couples with kids. The teens had the whole upstairs bedroom and loft, and we all fit comfortably together in the living room and open kitchen. Walks in the neighborhood were gorgeous, and the location was perfect for a day trip to Bear Valley for skiing. Big Trees SP was just 4 miles up the road, as well. We had a fantastic long weekend!
It was a nice property. The drive up was the most difficult pill to swallow from all the swerves. Some appliances looked damaged and were not replaced, but were not necessities either. Overall it fit all our needs. Thank you.
Black Bear is a very nice cabin. We were all very pleased and enjoyed it tremendously.
The cabin is clean and comfortable. The amenities are all there. Access to the Lake (which is a big deal).
Everything you need is there. WiFi is excellent, TV and multiple streaming services available. The decor has a fun vibe (wild mushroom hunting) is all around.
Beds are comfortable and the master has its own air conditioning.
Kitchen has lots of utensils and other things for cooking, big new toaster, microwave and a large coffee maker. No dishwasher, but that’s not a huge issue for me.
It gets warm in the summer and there are a few fans and an in wall air conditioner that really cools the main living area. Small but works like a champ.
Deck is nice, didn’t use the bbq, but it’s there. You might want to have some lawn chairs if you are having a few people over.
It’s not a huge place, but the four of us were comfortable in the main living area.
Great value and we enjoyed it!
I spoke to the owner who was cordial and helpful twice. My criticism is really all about ambiance. This place was colorless and did not evoke any feelings of happiness. This cabin was a new experience for the owner, obviously learning how to be a host. He had invested in beautiful grey wood flooring and large grey sofas. But, other than that: only small pieces of art on some walls. Only 5 table lamps total, two not working (The place has 7 beds). No floor lamps. One chandelier hanging from two-story ceiling --not able to read at night. Kitchen so small, hard to prepare a meal in. The main view off the deck was obscured. The place needs a lot more thought, energy, and money to be something people will want to return to. Price indicated a much more relaxing and rejunenating space than it was. Wishing the owner good luck with further improvements.
We stayed with our 4 and 6 year old. They loved the upstairs and puzzles. Fully stocked kitchen, we cooked every night. Cozy, comfortable, would stay again.
Black Bear Den is cozy and comfy. Brand new floors, carpet, decorations and plenty, plenty of beds. We happened to be there during a Winter Wonderland. We highly recommended renting snow shoes and trekking down the pristine and quiet trail at Spicer Snow Park. The cabin had everything we needed and we would stay there again!
Comfortable home, had everything we needed. The cabin could use some deep cleaning but overall it was cute. No pass available to use recreation center so that was a draw back but owner told us to have the club Call him directly to get permission. We ended up not using the lake or pool.
