Events not allowed

Tried to have a nice camping weekend (yes, we camped on the property and got prior permission) and have a small, civilized gathering with friends. The listing says “Events allowed” and it’s mentioned that the property is good for a “wedding or family reunion” but when friends started to show up it was a problem for the owner when neighbors noticed cars pulling up and had let her know. None of the people I had over were staying over and we were going to leave the place exactly how we found it as we were to check out the next day. I was told to shut the gathering down not even 20 mins into starting it and tell my friends to go home. Why advertise events allowed if you’re not going to honor it? Unfortunately will not be coming back here.

Peaceful!

Very peaceful. Great place to stay. No issues with anything, was as advertised. Surrounding areas were beautiful. Traveling around was easy. Check in was painless. Homeowner laid all the info out prior to arrival which was helpful. Certainly would recommend to those looking for a break from their everyday lives to get a breath of fresh air. Thank you!

Amazing country get away

Perfect from beginning to end....every time we would leave to do something in the area, the kids would keep asking "can we go back to the farm?"

Quiet, comfortable, and clean

This was our second stay at the property. The heat worked great and we were super warm and cozy. Lots and lots of things to do nearby, but the property itself is quiet and very peaceful.

Beautifully restored historic home

My family thoroughly enjoyed our stay at this house. The house and grounds were in great condition. My toddler loved all the space to run around and explore outside. It was a beautiful getaway in Amish country and I would highly recommend this property to others.

Wonderful Stay

We had a great stay. The property was beautiful and the house so picturesque. My children loved the large yard and playing on the swing set, on the large front porch and the sandbox. The house is charming and the kitchen is very well stocked. I was so excited there was a pizza pan after purchasing a flimsy premade pizza! It was a good location only 30 mins from Strasburg Railroad and Cherry Crest Farm. We had a great time stopping at local food stands to get fresh fruit and veggies. The only polish was we switched from the master bed because the one side of the bed drooped and my husband was unable to get comfortable. Luckily there were only four of us so plenty of rooms to choose from. Thank you for having us and we hope to be able to visit again!

Overpriced

The place does not worth the price we paid. We stayed during the winter, and we hardly used the outside space. The house is clean, and the host is a great communicator, but we stayed in many vacation houses throughout the years, which cost much less and had better amenities. And I am not talking about fancy items. For the price - I would expect the host to provide more than three rolls of the cheapest toilet paper; That the kitchen would have a tea kettle, a decent size baking pan, and soup bowls. The mattresses are old and uncomfortable. It was making sounds with every little move. It is about time to replace them. We couldn't sleep well - so what is the point of having a vacation if you can't rest? It was not a horrible experience by any means. I just feel that it is not a good value for the money we paid. We might have a different perspective if it was nice and warm out, and the kids could spend more time on the fantastic grounds.

Cozy home on a beautiful property

Coming from NYC, this farmhouse was literally like heaven for my family. The large lawn was lush and green and a fantastic area for our kids to enjoy true freedom. The jungle gym and corn field took it to the next level. The Lancaster area is beautiful and interesting. This was the only vacation we've been on that my daughter didn't ask "when are we going home" the entire time. The home is somewhat sparsely decorated, but still has a warm and inviting atmosphere. Sharon is a wonderful host--prompt, responsive, and kind! If you are a travelling with small kids, I'd recommend bring a baby gate for the top and bottom of the stairs. We will be back!

Charming farmhouse and yard.

The perfect place for a quiet getaway. The ground are immaculately kept as is the house. The kitchen is simple, but has a everything you could need to prepare any meal (and there’s a wonderful grill as well!). The house is very kid friendly and there is an amazing yard, play set, basketball court, and camp fire area. We hope to return soon.

Restful stay

Our family enjoyed the quiet, peaceful surroundings. Favorite things to do included having coffee on the front porch in the mornings and evenings. I hope that nothing here changes because the seclusion and quiet are so important to people coming from places where this is not the norm. Adding a hammock or two, and laundry room access would be great. Kids as usual loved running around and playing on the swing set and basketball court. Hope to be back again.

Awesome lowkey getaway

The property was huge and had a ton of room and a bunch stuff to do outside to keep us entertained all weekend. The basketball court was a great thing to have and the home was so nice for a place to hangout with friends and get away from the city. Thank you!!

Magical summer stay

We had an absolutely magical time at this gem of a farmhouse and 100% plan to return regularly. Every aspect was perfect for a family getaway. The house itself is charming, the playground was incredible, the basketball court was a great bonus, the picnic tables and front porch rockers were great, the under the tree sandbox felt like Narnia, the in-room air conditioners were perfect, the entryway hutch toys and games were wonderful, the fire pit was superb. We explored the grounds, played until we dropped, watched the fireflies come out at night, showed our boys their first shooting stars and took a breath of fresh air that we all desperately needed to reconnect and and relax. We have visions of future family reunions in all seasons at this lovely location and can’t wait to start planning the next one. An absolute treasure with memories we will cherish for a lifetime!
