When you find yourself relaxing at home base, this getaway offers free WiFi, two balconies/decks, and two out of three bedrooms have an ocean view. The living room is set up with comfort in mind with four new overstuffed leather recliners, a new sleeper sofa, and a bookcase featuring many current bestsellers. Guests are now able to stream unlimited Netflix movies from both TVs, so there will be ample entertainment for all to enjoy. When mealtimes come around, the full kitchen has been fully outfitted with new utensils, a new dishwasher, and ample cookware for all of your cooking needs. And, a gas grill is available when you want to keep it a bit more casual. You can even bring the family dog along to join in on the fun!

Wonderful week by the water

My family of 5 had a wonderful, relaxing week here. Being able to view and have access to the water was incredible. We were able to go out in the early morning or late afternoon. The house's location has easy access to grocery stores and eateries on surface streets as well as freeways. Downtown is less than a 5 minute drive as well as the Oceanside Pier. There is a nice park within walking distance as well as a elevated walking path across the street with various access points. My husband and I slept in the front bedroom on the top floor. We took turns on the pull-out couch with our youngest which was comfy. Our teens took the bedrooms on the lower level. There's some minor wear and tear on the house, though nothing that took away from its charm or function. Guests can get to the beach over a rocky path though it was a little challenging for our youngest (6 y.o.). My teens and I were able to navigate it (even in the dark, with care). There is a public access point, less than a block away with stairs and a few within walking distance. The ocean is LOUD though the windows and shutters do block it out for those who might find it bothersome. Street traffic was generally light, it didn't cause any issues when sleeping in the front bedroom. The area is active with walkers, runners and bicyclists. We didn't have any issues with noisy neighbors in fact we met one at our departure and he was very pleasant. The garage is small. We fit our mid-size SUV rental (Hyundai Santa Fe) in it the first night after unloading, there wasn't much room to exit the vehicle. We parked on the street for the remainder of the time without issue. Pros: -Comfy beds, with extra linens -Nice indoor sitting, tasteful and minimal décor -Access to wash and dryer (not coin-operated as one review noted) with some complementary detergent pods -Well-equipped kitchen (except for one, see "cons"), incl. a small amount of spices and oils for cooking; we especially appreciated the more casual plates and children's dishware/utensils. -Lots of puzzles and books, including some for children -Beach toys and boards -Cleaning supplies (We had to sweep at least once a day because of the sand we trailed in.) Cons: -Noticeable pet/litter smell in the laundry room, didn't permeate the house -Slight musty smell in main living room when we first entered home, didn't linger for duration of stay. -For our active family the paper towels in the kitchen weren't enough. We went through two rolls easily. We didn't find the dishtowels under the sink until the day before our departure. -I do wish there was a better lock on the main door which leads to the garage. It doesn't lock on the interior side so if you turn the knob, it opens. (This was a safety concern specific for our son, though it may not be one for other families who have less curious children. We felt safe in the home otherwise.) -The TV in a little challenging to figure out. We would most definitely stay here again.

Perfect Balcony to Watch Dolphins

The house is located within walking distance of restaurants, breweries, the Buccaneer Cafe which serves the best breakfast burritos and coffee options! We had the pleasure of watching dolphins every morning from the balcony! The kitchen is well stocked with all types of glass and beach ready plastic ware, easy to have a day at the beach right in the beach sand backyard! Tons of sand toys for building castles, a convenient hose at the bottom of the stairs for rinsing off! The upstairs hose in the closet was super convenient too! We loved the fire pit too! Overall, it is a great home to vacation in and offers plenty of books and puzzles to occupy your down time! If you plan to work there, the living room sofa table extends up to a desk, which was really handy!! Street parking is not a problem, there are always cars parked on the street so drivers are very careful! The garage is best for a small suv or car, but it was nice having the extra outdoor covered space for bikes or water toys if you bring them. Access to the water, there is a pathway and a rail about half way down, at the bottom you have to climb down over some big rocks, this would be hard for older adults, but on Cassidy street there are steps to the beach that provides easy access. Highly recommend!

Great beach house

Loved our week here. House surpassed our expectations. Only negative was the difficulty getting down to the beach from the property. We really enjoyed the private beach area on the property though.

Beware of Booking Practices

Beware of booking this property through VRBO as I was charged a large service fee to book this property through VRBO. It was not stated that this was a fee for VACASA to list this property on the VRBO website. I feel this is deceitful and I was not offered a refund when asked about this charge. If you look at the bottom of the page under the About the Host section, it will state that this property is Hosted by VACASA...which they were great to deal with. No where does it state that booking through VRBO will you be charged an exorbitant amount to book this property. Save yourself and go directly to the VACASA website.

Family of 6 vacation

We loved the house and enjoyed our stay! There are a lot of stairs in the home. You cannot go down to the water easy at all, and Oceanside Beach was driving distance. We were bummed there was no beach within walking distance that was a place we could go swim. It was nice to walk to the Beach Cafe and Buccaneers Cafe, nice neighborhood. We enjoyed it very much and the communication was great with the property management. We also noticed our sand was raked in the morning and that was nice. Was able to have a fire each night, but had to bring our own wood so just know that. Great place and would go back!

Family getaway

The home was great and perfect size for our family of 7. Very family friendly place. The view is unbeatable and the beach backyard was great. We enjoyed the short walk to the Buccaneer cafe every morning. The only feedback for action would be to have a little more bathroom and kitchen supplies on hand. We would definitely stay here again in a heartbeat!

Fantastic Oceanside stay!

We had a lovely stay over spring break as a family of 4 with two kids under 8. The views and sounds of the waves were incredible! The house was clean and cozy - there was more space and seating in the main living room than I’d realized from the pictures. We weren’t able to get down to the water with the tides, but we took the short walk to the rocky beach area a few blocks away and had plenty of sand time in Carlsbad. That’s where we headed for a few meals and Legoland; the house location made that an easy drive and was also walkable to a few good breakfast spots. Would definitely recommend this place to others looking to visit the area!

What a view! Would come back again!

We loved the view of the ocean from the decks, and it was a very comfortable home. The private beach was a joy. If you plan to sleep 8 folks you would need to share beds. More of a couples site unless family members/kids share beds. Even though it was on a street the night noise was minimal, though we were visiting in spring and not the summer months. If you LOVE puzzles there are a lot and we spent time putting one together. There was LOTS of books on shelves if you want to curl up with one. Appreciated the working dish washer and the laundry machines (though we didn't use them).

Beautiful Property and Location

Great home and location

Home is as described, but actually even nicer than the photos. Great layout of bedrooms and common space. Beach is beautiful and it's wonderful hearing the waves crash against the seawall all day. We enjoyed fires at night in the fire pit, sitting on the balconies, and taking walks in the area. Would definitely choose to stay here again.

Relaxing Beach vacation

Loved the house , the unobstructed ocean view, private sandy beach area with chairs and caretaker who came early to rake and clean the sand after high tide! Excellent location .. walked to coffee shops, grocery store and scenic neighborhoods. Minutes from downtown , the harbor and the strand ! Even on cloudy days enjoyed the sound of ocean waves, watching dolphin and even saw a whale! Would love to come back in summer or Fall !!

Perfect spot!

We lived in the area for several years but love to come back annually. This is a perfect location. It’s off the Stand so no people noise, the walk-ability is amazing and the views are spectacular! The beds were comfortable, the kitchen was great and the space on the sand was great.

Wonderful!

We had a wonderful stay with our family. This house is right on the beach which was perfect for our grandkids. They loved to go out and play in the sand and we made s’mores in the evening. We had access to the water when the tide was low but there wasn’t many beach toys that we found and wished we had games like cornhole or something to play. The house was very nice and clean and perfect for families with kids. We also liked the neighborhood. There is a park a short walk away and a coffee shop right next to it and more beach access across the street. The garage door opener broke on our 3rd night, the chain snapped off. We were able to manually open the garage and the doors into the house lock with a code so it wasn’t a big deal. Overall, we enjoyed our stay very much and would rent this house again!

Wonderful house

This beach front house was wonderful! It came equipped with everything we needed. We grabbed a few groceries and were able to just hang at the house. Low tide came in the middle of the day so we could climb down the rocks to the water. Not having to drive to the beach was amazing. However if you’re unable to get down the rocks there is beach access within a couple blocks. We loved being within walking distance to Beach Break Cafe. We would definitely stay here again!
