Come enjoy year-round fun in our newly updated 3 bedroom, 2 bathroom home situated on 4 acres. A large yard and driveway provide adequate parking space for trailers. We welcome well-mannered, housebroken dogs! An outdoor fire pit with seating is provided in the summer months. Within the home, you will find a fully equipped kitchen with a refrigerator, stove, microwave, toaster, crockpot, coffee pot/K-cup, and dishwasher. Cups, plates/bowls, and utensils are provided. There is a washer and dryer in the house for use. The home has 2 queen beds and 2 twin beds. Bed linens and towels are provided. There is a dining table that seats 6. The spacious living room has a couch, loveseat, chaise lounge, and recliner. WIFI, Amazon Firestick, Roku TV, and a DVD player are provided. At just 3 miles from the Porcupine Mountains, our location is the perfect distance for allowing you to enjoy some of the beauties Upper Michigan has to offer. In the winter, hit the slopes at the Porcupine Mountains Ski Area downhill skiing/snowboarding, XC skiing, and snowshoeing. If you prefer your skis to have motors, access snowmobile Trail #1 right from the driveway. Summer is the perfect time to explore the biking trails at the ski hill or take a hike and view the many waterfalls in the area. With public beach access less than 1/4 mile from the home, a short walk could lead to spending the day playing in the water, searching for agates, or relaxing to the sound of waves. While you wind down for the evening, take the hassle out of making dinner and grab a pizza from the Porcupine Mountains Outpost. They have delicious ice cream for dessert too or enjoy making s'mores around the outdoor fire pit back at the house. Don't forget to try your hand at Yooperlite hunting at dusk. Whatever you choose-Adventure Awaits! We hope you make many lifetime memories!

Great stay for a visit to the porkies!

We lived staying here. Barrick location, very clean and spacious. We'll stocked kitchen. Just a great place to stage a trip to the Porcupine Mountains. Close enough to Houghton that our Tech student could come hang out with us. We're coming back!

Accommodating host

Clean and spacious accommodations close enough to Lake Superior to hear the waves and just outside Porcupine Mountains State Park. Host promptly replied to all inquiries. Pleasantly surprised by small things such as soaps and shampoos that made things more convenient.

Everything about this property was perfect for us. The property itself is even better than the pictures make it seem, and it’s equipped with everything you would possibly need. The location is the best part, as it’s walking distance to the beach and local restaurants, as well as only a few miles from the park entrants. Would 100% stay here again.

2024 Porkies Trip

The house is in a great location a few minutes from Porcupine Mountains State Park. It had everything we could need, and it really was nicer than the pictures showed. This property was perfect for two couples, with bedroom and bathroom on each end. We hope to stay again!

Clean and convenient. The 5 of us had a nice stay. We went to lake in the clouds, Many waterfalls were a bit dry in Aug. Would have had a fire, but rainy in eve. Good tomebeautiful

Family Reunion in the UP

Clean place, great location

If your plan is to hike and explore the woods and beaches of the Porcupine Mountains, this is a great location. Pros: Property was clean and well-maintained, inside and out. Plenty of space, with 3 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms, and a large living room. Located just minutes from the Porkies, and minutes from multiple public beach options. Included housewares were sufficient. Bedding and towels were clean and adequate. Washer and dryer plus clothesline were a huge benefit. Setting was peaceful and fairly private. Outdoor fire area and lounge chairs were nice. Cons: Master bed was uncomfortable enough that we cut our stay a night short. Water heater was insufficient; posted notes around the home recommend limiting showers to 10 minutes and spreading family/guest showers out (not ideal on vacation). Toilet clogged twice (immediately upon arrival and again a few days later), with very "normal" use (and nothing in the toilet that shouldn't be!). Overall, we really enjoyed our stay. A few upgrades/updates to plumbing and beds would make this place almost perfect.

Great getaway!

This rental met our needs perfectly. The layout was perfect for two couples and two little kids. The host graciously provided age-appropriate toys. Great location near the lake and to Porcupine Mtns.

3 nights were not enough. I love this place.

Three of us adults, had stayed at Erin's property 3/1/24-3/4/24. It was more than we expected. Even thou we were there for the "Lost Winter" the location is perfect. The cabin is extremely clean, 3 bedrooms 2 baths, it was great. They have Roku, which I love. It was probably the worst time of year to be there, but I loved it. It was what we all needed. Peace and quiet. Granted most businesses were closed because there was no snow, the people we did meet we very nice and polite. I highly recommend this property for a long stay. I can see myself retiring in this region.

Perfect Get-away

Our stay was as near perfect as possible. The house was everything it was said to be and close to everything we wanted to do. We had the occasion to need to ask the owner a question and not only was Erin's response quick, but she also followed up with us and told us some other things she thought we'd be interested in seeing. If we ever return to the Porkies, this is where we will stay!!

Excellent stay!

This house was perfectly located for everything that we wanted to do (exploring the Porcupine Mountains, local waterfalls and beaches). Also close to the Keweenaw Peninsula, so we were also able to check out Houghton, Calumet, Eagle River and Copper Harbor. Check-in process was very easy and the house was spotless with perfect amenities. Communication with the owner was excellent, would definitely stay here again!

Good location

We chose this place because of the location and it was wonderful to be so close to all the state parks and the beach which my children loved. It was nice to have such a large kitchen for all of us with ample counter space and having a washing machine there was a lifesaver (especially when the toilet overflowed). We were a little frustrated with the fact that there wasn't a single baking sheet in the place so we had to get creative for preparing some of the meals we'd planned, but the rest of the kitchen items and utensils were decently stocked. The biggest complaint we had was that the doors were constantly sticking shut and were difficult to open and close (the baseboard trim was cut too long to fit with the doorjamb so the doors got caught every time). Not a big deal for an adult only party that doesn't mind being woken every time someone goes in and out of a room, but with kids and a baby who wake up easily, it definitely made things more difficult. Overall, having a clean place with a large kitchen and living room plus a dining room was very nice for our big family and we loved being so close to everything we wanted to see in the porkies.
