This cabin was very cozy, with beautiful scenery and fantastic owners. We had a wonderful stay and needed for nothing. It was very clean, well stocked with what we needed and made our trip very enjoyable! We can’t wait to stay again!
This was a wonderful, beautiful place to spend our anniversary. The seclusion was what we needed. We had tornadoes the first night there and the owners called that night to check on us. i will definitely be a return customer.
We had a awesome week! This is a very cozy place to spend relaxing!!! We cooked in Dutch oven and had a wonderful time at the outside fireplace! We will definitely be back!!
This is a beautiful cabin in a beautiful setting! Everything was very clean and they had everything we needed. They were very responsive hosts and we will be back!
Hosts were amazing and had the cabin easily accessible for check in. The cabin was clean and so cute! Very quiet and peaceful, the outside fairy light were on a timer which was nice when we pulled up in the dark. Couldn't asked for a better stay.
Although it was further out than we thought and climbing to the loft rooms were terrifying and not possible for my elderly parents or toddler it was great to be out in the country away from everything. The property owners were communicative and there were plenty of beds and was very cozy.
We have family in Mammoth Spring and Ash Flat, so we will become regulars!
The outdoor setting was so relaxing! From sitting on the porch rocker listening to Willie, Waylon, and the boys to watching the stars and grilling with my pups.
The cozy cabin setting and rain hitting the tin roof was just what the doctor ordered!
We had the BEST time. The hosts were great and made us feel right at home. This was the PERFECT Christmas cabin for our family and we can't wait to schedule another trip!
Super clean and nicely decorated. Everything you need in the way of supplies, coffee, tea, etc. Nice outside fireplace and grill. The stars at night are wonderful! Took a wagon ride, which was a highlight of the visit! Charming and comfortable place to get away from it all!!
The photos of this property really doesn't do it justice. Was so pleased to find it even better in person! We enjoyed the outdoor fireplace and made pizzas in the stone oven. A bit of a learning curve there, but was very fun to do. We took a horse drawn wagon ride around the area and had a great time!
From the very beginning, the owners were very nice and always willing to help. The property is just far enough out of town that you feel in your own world. We will definitely be back!
What a wonderful stay! Mrs. Emerald Welch keeps it sparkling clean (even washing the comforters after each guest) and the decorations are beautiful, fun, and interesting. We kept looking around and seeing something new! The cabin is rustic and comfortable. I just wish we'd had time to try out the pizza oven. :) (We didn't realize until we looked at it that it was a pizza-oven/hearth/grill combination. Bring burgers.) The location is private with little traffic, and the view of the pastureland and horses/mules/donkeys was pretty from the yard and loft. Very, very happy customers. :)
Mrs. Welch and her father-in-law, Mr. Welch, gave us permission on some things, working with us to make the cabin an excellent film shoot location for the film we are creating (ThisGeneration.net), and we are planning on using the beautiful horse and buggy for a further clip. They are warm friendly people.
Thanks to them for a lovely stay and a successful shoot!
Great place to relax and unwind. A little bit of a drive to get to but it’s worth it. Only thing I’d change would be to put in a walk-in shower. The claw foot tub is charming but not practical and somewhat inconvenient especially for older folks.
I grew up just north a bit in Missouri. We lived 15 mikes out of a town of 1050 people at that time. I could have stayed anywhere closer to ammenaties or anything else for that matter.
When I found this place and mapped it, the first thing that hit my mind was "HOME"!
It reminded me of being back in the area and younger years in my life.

About the host
Hosted by Jerry and Emerald Welch
We are all about enjoying nature and all it has to offer a family. So, on our 100 acres we built a unique, rustic log cabin to look as if it has been in that spot for many years. Many of our friends and family have stayed and suggested that we share it with others who enjoy privacy, nature, fishing, and getting to know each other better as a family. What started as a hobby and something for our out of town friends and family to stay in, has become a nightly rental for others to enjoy.
Why they chose this property
We really don’t go on vacation much. We love it right here! Our property is located in a rural setting, but still close enough to a quaint, friendly town with a large grocery store, Dollar Store and lots of shopping and a State Park convenient enough for supplies and additional entertainment. The cabin and grounds are geared towards ATV riding, horseback riding and adventures. Many creeks and springs are close on the miles of gravel roads, suites for both.
What makes this property unique
The relaxed atmosphere will recharge you. Lazy Mule Cabin is suited for a couple, whole family or multiple couples. We love using the outdoor fireplace for cooking pizzas, cooking a pot of beans over the open fire or grilling hamburgers and steaks on the grill. The stars shine like diamonds while enjoying sitting outside in warm weather, soaking up the breeze, the sounds of frogs and peacefulness.
