Welcome to Tuckaleechee Retreat Center, a Christian non-profit, which is home to the National Office for Children's Bible Ministries, Inc. We offer seven cabins/lodges of varying sizes, sleeping from 2-40 guests! The main lodge features a beautiful saltwater pool, which is available to all of our guests, open Memorial Day through Labor Day. All cabins have fully equipped kitchens, grills, hot tubs, and gas fireplaces (Firefly Lodge has an electric fireplace). Bed and bath linens are also provided! Activities available to all of our guests include the shared saltwater pool, corn hole, and fire pit.

Firefly Lodge has the most spectacular, sweeping views of any of our cabins, and is a favorite among our guests. In season, fireflies sparkle throughout the 48-acre property, from grass to treetops. Firefly Lodge provides 4 bedrooms (see Sleeping Arrangements below for bed layouts) and 3.5 bathrooms. This 2-story lodge has an open floor plan on the main floor for the kitchen, living room with 65" Roku TV/DVD, and dining room. Fully equipped kitchen features a Keurig, industrial coffee maker, retro appliances including 6-burner stovetop, convection/regular combo oven, dishwasher, trash compacter, microwave, fridge, and all the cookware/dishes needed to prepare meals. The dining room seats up to 22 people at the hand-crafted farmhouse style table. Additional dining seating available in the sunroom.

2 bedrooms, and 2.5 bathrooms complete the main floor. 2 additional bedrooms and 1 bathroom are on the lower level. Washer and dryer included in the second bedroom downstairs. Spacious living room downstairs for hanging out, provides a pull-out couch and 55" Roku TV/DVD.

Step outside onto the covered balcony to relax in the rocking chairs and porch swing. Or enjoy the lower deck that opens onto the beautiful private pool (open May through September). Soak in the private hot tub, conveniently located on the patio by the pool. You will also have access to the shared pool at Elk Lodge on our main property, from May-September. Gorgeous views of the surrounding mountains from the bedrooms & main rooms, balcony, and pool area!! The wide-open lawn is perfect for family games and activities (please note that it has a slight slope, due to our mountain location). Volleyball, a basketball hoop, and cornhole provided.

Firefly Lodge is ideal for family vacations, small reunions, and group retreats!!

Peaceful & Plenty

Our church ladies came for the WOJ conference and loved our stay. We did have a problem with turning up the wrong drive. We didn't see the small sign in the dark telling us to go ahead for office. We also had issues with AC but it was taken care of promptly. We brought 19 ladies and really enjoyed the house, inside and out!

Why they chose this property

This cabin is in Townsend, TN which a peaceful town right beside the entrance to the Great Smoky Mountain National Park, one of the few free national parks in the U.S.!! We are nestled on the side of Little Mountain, overlooking the beautiful Dry Valley and Rich Mountain, where serenity abounds!

Townsend provides delicious restaurants, several options for river tubing, souvenir and antique shopping, museums, caverns, horseback riding, and more! The National Park has endless opportunities for hiking, biking, fishing, picnics, and viewing wildlife. A favorite is the Cades Cove Loop Rd which is 11 miles of scenery with wildlife in its natural habitat.

Just a short 30 minutes away, is Pigeon Forge, home of Dollywood and many fun tourist attractions and shopping options. Gatlinburg, located right beside Pigeon Forge, offers a wide range of attractions and shopping for the whole family!

Our online travel guide (link provided with the guest agreement after you book) offers our top recommendations for catering, restaurants, shopping, attractions, etc. We also offer a Welcome Book in each of our cabins/lodges with the same information. Contact our office to ask about discount tickets that may currently be available!
