Awesome!

Perfect private property for stay on Ometepe, between the west and east sides of the island. Make sure you have a car when you visit for getting to and from the house as it is relatively secluded. Would visit again! -Chris

We felt like Kings!!

We had a truly amazing time at this house!! Driving up the highway I joked that that was our house on top of the mountain and we all laughed...turns out it was the house!! Very comfortable with views to die for and the caretakers, Anner and Luz, were so friendly and helpful. Great walks and hikes through the plantain and coffee farms that sit on the property. Sits right in the middle of Mayogalpa and Ojo de Agua/Santa Cruz so we felt close to everything. Views of two water all around and looking straight up Volcan Concepcion....we watched the racers at night with their lights coming down the volcano. Truly a delight and we will back.

Privacy, space and natural beauty

Simple yet comfortable accommodations at top of hill with lovely views of harbor and volcanoes, especially from main house where meals were served. Luz, the caretaker and cook, is very helpful and attentive and a good cook. I believe she is Spanish speaking only. The location is somewhat distant from most activities and sights on the island so best to have car or hire car with driver for day. We were able to walk to Chaco Verde Reserve, which is about 2.5 miles away. There is internet in main house but not in cabin. We paid for dinner each night because we did not have a car and I would also not choose to drive up the hill in the dark. We used a head lamp to walk from main house to our cabin at night because walk way is dark and steep.

Only worth 1/3 the price

Property was misrepresented. It is sleazy, unkempt, poorly equipped, in disrepair, with peeling paint on walls. The kitchen was cluttered with miscellaneous containers, boxes, cleaning utensils, water dispensers -- and ZERO cookware. Storage spaces are inadequate throughout the house. Tableware (cups, dishes, etc.) could be consolidated into fewer cupboards to free up cupboard space for foodstuffs instead of piling them on the kitchen counter. BOTH bathrooms should have TP holders, clean toilet seats, and toilets that flush. All bedrooms should have fans, hangers, bedside lamps, and tables/dressers. A TV in the living area would be nice, instead of or in addition to the big stack of board games. More and/or better wall outlets would be welcome. If that's not feasible, then a supply of extension cords could help. The power went out the one night we stayed there, and came back on, several times. If this is a common occurrence, guests should be advised of this and flashlight(s) should be provided in the house. In addition to cookware in the kitchen, it would be nice if coffee and ice were available for guests. The house COULD be cute and inviting, but it needs a lot of TLC, a fresh coat of paint, and attention to decor, amenities, and the layout of the furnishings. The location is divine, but ONLY if the guest(s) have their own 4WD vehicle, as it is so remote, and far (800 meters) up a steep hill from the road. We were under the impression that the owner lived on the property, as well as "managing" it. It was only when we arrived that we discovered this is not the case. The meal that was prepared for us took a very long time to appear after our arrival, and was nearly inedible. Our time would have been better spent being driven to a local restaurant. The owner/manager had offered months ago to assist in booking our rented 4WD vehicle on the ferry over to Ometepe. By the time she inquired, ALL the ferries serving the island were fully booked fur the duration of our scheduled stay. We elected, then, to spend just one night (instead of 4), and to accept the overpriced (but very wonderful) driver she recommended. So we ended up paying for both our rented vehicle AND our half-day driver. We also ended up paying for both the Ometepe house AND the Granada house where we extended our rental by an additional 4 days. I cannot recommend this property to anyone, until all of its problems are remedied.

Reasonable accommodation for omotepe,

Great, attentive host and very dedicated on site staff. House is large with most everything you need. However, furniture is super uncomfortable and ants are everywhere. We had the sewer back up and water pump quit which was taken care of quickly but it tainted the stay, particularly for our wives. We felt the house was a good value for 2 couples but it’s not luxury by any means. (It’s a steep rocky road up to the house (normal for Ometepe but daunting by North American standards)

8 Day Stay

I just got back from an 8 day stay at this establishment. I can not begin to describe the beauty and serenity that comes with staying here. It is fantastic. The staff is so wonderful and friendly. So many beautiful things to see and leisurely days at the beaches, it's fantastic. Honestly, there are not enough words to describe what I am trying to say. You need to see for yourself~!

Amazing view and peaceful getaway!

My stay at the to Quinta Linda Vista (Ometepe Cabin) was absolutely perfect. It was the ideal getaway for a time of peaceful relaxation. It's off the beaten path yet close enough to access shops and the beach. There is a fantastic common kitchen for cooking and a 360 view of volcanos. I'd recommend scheduling a pick up from the ferry as finding the location can be challenging.

Basic, But Stunning Views

We recently stayed here for 6 nights. The first day it was very difficult to find (directions weren't quite right), even a guard at the main road turn-off sent us off in another direction, good thing we ignored him and drove up anyways; apparently no one has heard of Quinta Linda Vista. But once we arrived, Luz the caretaker, showed us our cabins. They are pretty basic, but we knew that going in, what we didn't expect was to not have power. There was lights, and there is a fan supplied, but there wasn't enough "juice" for it to work, nor could we charge any of our devices, cameras, etc. We were able to use the main house power to do so though. But besides that, the beds were super comfy, the place was super clean, the surroundings were fantastic! The cold shower in the morning was refreshing! :) We didn't do the meal plan, so I can't comment on that, but the owners and Luz tried to accommodate us the best way they could. We borrowed a cooler to keep drinks in at our cabin, even though they offered the fridge in the main house. I recommend this place if you want stunning surroundings, and a basic room to stay, but I would suggest a vehicle, as it is quite the ways off the main road.

A highlight of our vacation

The property is impeccably clean and absolutely gorgeous. We stayed for 3 nights and loved everything about it. Luz and her family also make the stay really special with their friendliness and willingness to help in any way possible. The property is surrounded by spectacular views on all sides, and the breeze provided by its hill top placement is a huge advantage for cool evenings and a lack of bugs. If you have a rental car make sure it is four wheel drive, but we had no trouble without a vehicle. We were able to walk to Charco Verde and hike the trails there, and also to easily walk to San Jose del Sur (Where the closest Ferry docks) to catch the bus or find a taxi or nearly anything else needed. If you need transportation around the island talk to "Gordo" in San Jose del Sur (you'll see a sign for his Taxi Business). We worked with him a couple times and found him knowledgeable, friendly, reliable and reasonable. The owners were also great in terms of getting us specific ferry information and setting up transportation to and from the ferry. This property is really a gem and a fantastic place to relax and see Ometepe.

Amazing Island Family Stay!

Wow! What an amazing and beautiful island and the home was a perfect place for our family with two small children to stay. The views of both volcanoes were outstanding and Luz, the cuidador (or caretaker), cooked us delicious meals (breakfast and dinner) and took excellent care of the home. Luz was very patient with our attempts at communicating in Spanish and helped us learn more! Take the road slowly up the hill as clearance is sometimes tricky (we made it though and got better each time up the hill in a small rental car) - in the rainy season, we'd recommend a 4WD vehicle. Neighbors were also quite friendly and kind. We'll be back!

Superb views and location

The property and buildings are all very clean and well-maintained, and the landscape and views are just magnificent. Food and meals were provided in a timely manner and were delicious--servings were quite healthy! Only small pick is the night time room temperature----we didn't sleep well despite the fact that fans were provided,. We perceive the problem to be that of "brownouts", which meant that our fan and other electrical devices and lighting would cut in/out intermittently, and sometimes for longer periods. So, our fan would stay on for 15-20minutes then would cut out completely. The cool night breeze was an option, but that option is coupled with the invitation for mosquitoes, etc.. Regardless, Luz, Bismarck, and other staff were all very accommodating and helpful and genuinely sweet. Would highly recommend a rental vehicle as this property is a bit out of the way. Also recommend bringing flashlights/headlamps :)

Breathtaking views

If you are looking for a gorgeous, serine place to stay on Ometepe this is just the place. It is extremely clean and comfortable. Being at the top of a hill allows for a very comfortable, gentle breeze. The owner and staff are very responsive and helpful. This is a true get away from it all.

This is probably one of t...

This is probably one of the cleanest places we have stayed at in Nicaragua and definately the cleanest in Ometepe! Darling little casitas very close to Charco Verde. The staff was very sweet to us and the views were amazing. We enjoyed walking around the farm and seeing all the plantains, papayas, birds and animals. We have stayed at a couple of the waterfront places on Ometepe over the years but found this to be more comfortable for sleeping because of the breezes. They were able to accomodate all 7 of us on short notice. Thank you!

We work and live in Florida.

Why they chose this property

We chose this location to build our property for the view and are attempting to conserve its natural beauty by making this property self sustaining. Eventually, we would like to install solar panels as a back-up and later a primary power source. We recycle rain water for daily water use. We do not have hot water for showers, and keep a supply of fresh purified water for our guests on hand.

What makes this property unique

We enjoy the relaxed setting and getting away from the 'electronic leashes' which seem to dominate our daily life. I like to check on my plantains, growing sour orange trees, and chili plants. About 1 mile from the property, we can swim, rent horses, kayak.
