Beautiful Canalfront Cottage, Perfect for Couples!

Second Wind cottage is a real home away from often comment that staying here is like visiting friends.

Great care is taken by the owners to ensure the comfort of every guest. The cottage is perfect for a couple, or a couple with a small child.

It has an open, airy floor plan with lots of windows and two sliding glass doors leading to decks that overlook the canal, a very well-equipped kitchen, and many small touches that help make your stay more pleasurable. We pride ourselves on offering a clean, comfortable, and well maintained cottage.

If you've never been to Ocracoke, you're in for a treat. It's one of the most unique places many will have the chance to visit. With 13 miles of pristine beach, it's no wonder it's been voted in the top ten beaches year after year. It's not hard to fall in love with the easy going, laid back lifestyle.

If you're in the mood to stay busy, there's lots to do from inshore and offshore fishing with native guides, biking, raking your own clams, kayaking and parasailing to shopping and trying one of the many great restaurants on the island.

If you're more into relaxing, kick back on the porch in one of our locally made Adirondack chairs and watch egrets, ducks and otters off the back deck, or chill out with a book or movie from the house.

If you have been here before, there's always a few new places to check out and a chance to rediscover why you came to Ocracoke in the first place.

A special home in a magical spot

Second Wind is a warm, welcoming cottage that seems to embrace you as soon as you walk in the door. It has a wonderful layout and so many special touches (the more you look the more of those touches you appreciate). It is a perfect reflection of the flavor and history of Ocracoke. Ocracoke itself is a hidden gem with beautiful beaches, a Village that is filled with unique and special treasures and a history that is captivating - there is more to explore here than you imagine.. Definitely hope to make this an annual trip. Thank you for sharing your wonderful cottage, Steph and Larry!

Honeymoon trip!

Relaxing getaway

The house was even better than described. Very relaxing and had everything we needed. Host was very responsive and communicated with us when bad weather was forcasted. We look forward to coming back as this was our first visit to Ocracoke. Thanks for a great trip to kick off our retirement years!

Sweet stay

This sweet place was the perfect find for our long weekend away! It’s nicely tucked away from the busier streets and a good distance for us to get some good miles in on our bikes. However, the island is much longer on a bike than it seems in a car! Thx for the stay☺️

Canal house

The property was amazing. There wasnt an ocean view but the peace and tranquility more than made up for that. A boat dock was just a few steps away and you could be on open water in minutes. Property is well kept and management is quick to respond!! I would highly recommend to couples looking for a nice little getaway.

Fantastic Place

This is a fantastic place. The kitchen is very well stocked for any cooking you may want to do. We were there for a week and only ate out twice. We highly recommend this home, we plan to come back.

Beautiful Cottage

Really loved this cute comfortable cottage along a canal. We really loved the decor and the homey feel of it. It had a very well-equipped kitchen perfect for preparing our Thanksgiving dinner. The large bedroom was perfect with sliding glass doors leading out to the upper deck. The bed was extremely comfortable, which is such a plus when on a vacation. Thank you!
