We had 9 adults with 2 pickups and trailers stay for a week if sxs trail riding. Parking was tight but absolutely doable. Having the garage fridge and the garage was awesome! Plenty of decks and lounging areas so staying out of the wind was no issue! House was well supplied and very clean! We will definitely be staying again!
The property is very nice and well stocked.
The location is really great for exploring the Black Hills, Custer State Park, Mount Rushmore & Crazy Horse.
Highly recommend this property
Hi
This property is centrally located to the central and southern Black Hills which was excellent for our stay. The house was as advertised and was very comfortable for our eight adults and three children. Everything we needed was provided for us including the extra refrigerator in the garage. There was ample parking on site and we enjoyed sitting around the gas fire pit. The only drawback was the gravel road leading to the house.
We enjoyed our stay and would highly recommend it.
The location was good, communication with host was great, just a few minor issues with plumbing, electrical work, and refrigerator(no water or ice maker working), and location of thermostat downstairs so much warmer upstairs so had to use fans to keep upstairs cool. The garage wasn’t usable. I would recommend this vrbo to anyone!! Other amenities were great!!
The property was perfect for our stay. We had 9 people for an UTV riding trip. Location to attractions was perfect. Cabin was clean and well stocked everything worked.
My husband and I stayed at the cabin with our daughter, son-in-law, and three young grandchildren. The accommodations were great, the beds were comfortable, and the location was great to easily access many outdoor activities. The host was welcoming and responsive. We’d definitely stay there again!
The house was the perfect size to accommodate our family and friends. It is clean, well maintained, and only minutes away from Custer SD. It had everything we needed to enjoy our Side x Side trip. I would recommend this property.
There is one heater/thermostat and it is downstairs. Either the people downstairs freeze or the upstairs folks burn up. It was a small thermostat war between the folks upstairs and those downstairs. The four bathrooms are good but placed weird. Downstairs has two baths across from one bedroom and none at the other end by the other bedroom and bunkroom. Similar upstairs locations. Of the eleven of us, eight people used two baths and three used the other two. None of this affected the great time we had, simply an inconvenience.
Our son got married at Sylvan Lake on 8.18.2023 and we wanted a place to hang out and have some fun in the area before the wedding. This cabin was in a great location (close enough but with a secluded feel), gave us plenty of space for the 8 adults we had (family and friends), and fun items to keep everyone busy (bags, fire pit, nice large table for nightly card games). The host, Diane, was very responsive and accommodating - helped make our wedding trip perfect! Would definitely recommend.
We are a group of four couples, who get together once a year for a weeks vacation. This year we chose Custer and the South Dakota Black Hills area. The cabin was great nice and roomy had lots of anemones and the beds were very comfortable. We felt like we were right at home and enjoyed Ourselves immensely
Our family got together in the Black Hills and found this property to be well situated to the many activities and sites we wanted to see. It had the rooms and amenities we needed to facilitate our stay. The owner was also very responsive to any requests we had during our stay.
We recently stayed at the Evergreen Lodge. We were celebrating my parents 50th wedding anniversary. We needed a lot of room.and space for everyone and this place didn't disappoint. The home was beautiful and the property was great. We had a nice view. It was close to so many places. Diane was fabulous and she really went out of her way to make sure our stay was great. I can't recommend this place enough. It was fabulous. We can't wait to go back.
Loved our stay at the Evergreen Lodge! The location made for a perfect week and the cabin was nice and roomy. We enjoyed the wildlife around;every morning we saw deer right in front. Communication with the host was excellent & her recommendations of places to visit did not disappoint. Great vacation spot!
We spent 5 nights at this wonderful property. Everything was as-advertised. Communication was great. There were 13 people, ranging from 16 to 100, plus another 4 day visitors. There was plenty of room for everyone, with two separate couch locations upstairs and another downstairs. The highlight was probably when we had a group on the very large balcony overlooking the other group playing the provided cornhole and sitting on the Adirondack chairs at the firepit. Great times! The view over the meadow is so relaxing. We had no problems cooking for this large group. The fridge in the garage came in handy for larger items. Twin washers and dryers were also a plus. This was our third time staying in large houses near Crazy Horse, and the family commented a few times that they liked this house the best. Do be advised that the main living area is upstairs. It was a bit of work for our 100-year-old, but she got it done. On a side note, be sure to visit Dave's Rock Shop in town, as it's very affordable and fun to look around.
Great property and great owner. Everyone loved the Evergreen Lodge. Diane was very accommodating and kept us informed of the weather issues that we’re heading our way. It was a very enjoyable stay in spite of the snow storms.
This property is unique in respect to having three separate “hang out” areas - basically 3 living rooms with The Best couches! Add in 4 bathrooms and ample bedrooms - it’s a very nice space for a larger group. The kitchen was too small for us, but anytime besides the winter that would be remedied by the outside dining area. The host was especially easy to communicate with! Highly recommend!
Custer is a beautiful little community and this is a great base of operations.
We stayed in November when it snowed. The house is very warm and comfortable. We filled every bedroom with family and there was plenty of room. The owners were very transparent and wanted us to know about any possible discomforts based on our numbers. That was very appreciated. I would return without hesitation. Thank you.
We had a great time and totally enjoyed the house. The house is beautiful and well appointed. The owner Diane was a pleasure to deal with. We will definitely book another stay. House is in a great location to see all the sights in the area.
My husband and I and 4 other couples rented Evergreen Lodge for a week while visiting the Black Hills. The location was perfect for everywhere we wanted to go and to get back to at the end of the day. It was only 2 miles from the town of Custer.
The property is a absolutely beautiful. The house is not new but it was such a pleasant experience. We spent every evening around the large dining room table because the home was so cozy. The owner/manager Diane was easily accessible by email and answered all my questions and was so accommodating. I would highly recommend this beautiful lodging for a large group when traveling to the Black Hills.
