Great communication with owner and pleasant accommodations! Property is a bit dated but it had everything our group of 9 needed and we had a great time at Mustang Island which was 17min away!
All and all it was a good stay, not a lot of essentials stocked, and no grill to grill with! I say that because it says in the amenities there’s a grill, and I went expecting to use it, and come to find out there wasn’t one! so kind of messed up my bbq plans, but other then that an overall good stay.
The keypad did not work so I contacted the host. After trying several times to access the condo through the key pad, the host let us know that there were keys in a key box. We were finally able to gain entry. The next morning we had trouble with the coffee pot. We discovered that the outlets available for the coffee pot didn't work, so we moved it to an outlet in the dining area. In addition, there were no k cups there which we let the host know, but they never brought them. My husband had to go out the next morning and purchase some so we could have coffee for our guests. The property and location were okay, but the issues with the keypad, keys and coffee maker were stressful. Also, the upper bunkbed in one of the upstairs bedrooms was so close to the ceiling that it made it quite difficult for my guest to get in. She literally had to belly crawl onto it. I plan on using VRBO again, but I would not rent this particular property again.
To begin with, we were not able to easily get into the property. The Brinks locking system uses a code to unlock the property, but the front door was locked making it impossible to get in that way, and the backdoor was very finicky. You had to pull and hold very hard to get the door to lock/unlock EVERY TIME.
The first thing we noticed walking in through the back door was the poor condition of the laundry room. Both the washing machine and dryer had seen way better days and didn't even work!
Walking into the dining kitchen/area we noticed a green paper that had all the boxes checked for the required cleaning of the property, but we were very disappointed with the cleanliness. The dishes in the dishwasher were the ONLY clean dishes. Looking in the cabinets, I found dirty bowls and pans with oil still on them. The microwave and Keurig didn't turn on, we're guessing those outlets just weren't working? The refrigerator worked but hadn't been deep cleaned.
The floors were barely clean. We have a crawling baby and as soon as we put her down, she picked up a random piece of what appeared like mud from the carpet. Dirt was visible under the couches and tv stand.
The bedrooms were in decent condition and appeared clean, as well as the bathrooms. The bunk beds are a nice idea and work well for small children, but the top bunk was literally one foot from the ceiling. The queen-size bed was lacking support and would cave in when my husband and I lay on it.
No repeat customers here.
We had a good stay. I had a 'senior moment' trying to find which unit was ours (couldn't find a description on my phone) but Tracy responded to me quickly and helped me find it. This was a good fit for us, we came down to spend time with family in the area and wanted a quiet place to sleep at night and this place fit the bill. As an added bonus it was a short walk to a Wildlife sanctuary so I could take a nice walk with my camera every morning and do some 'birding'. Close to the beach and downtown area but extemely quiet.
This was a great place for our family to stay. The neighbors were ALL super friendly. I loved that the owners are very easy to communicate with and make this place very inviting. This place is clean, cute, very family friendly, and we would definitely book again!
