We completely enjoyed our stay right on the river. The property was in a great location and provided everything we needed for a little weekend getaway.
The cottage was perfectly located on a quiet river. If you are looking for peace and quiet this is a great place. House was in very good condition and the owners were very helpful. Highly recommend this VRBO!
We wanted to make a long weekend mini-vacation while in the area for a family reunion. The cottage was perfect for us - a lot of outdoor space, the river for fishing and the fire pit for hot dogs and s’mores. Plus the house had everything we needed.
We had a great time and weather was beautiful. When we visit again I would bring baby gate for the porch for my son to make things little eaiser. Loved the porch over the river. The owner was great and responsive!
Stayed a few days while on spring break. Enjoyed some trails in the Allegheny National Forest. The Dunns Eddy Cabin was a perfect home base for our family. Very clean, and cozy cabin on the river. We enjoyed some fishing in the river out back and also really enjoyed the swings overlooking the river! Some great local food just minutes away…would definitely come back and stay again.
Very well maintained. Easy access. The household was spotless, and very well stocked. The owner was very friendly, and courteous. It was so relaxing watching the wildlife on the river, and just watching the river flow by. Kayaking whenever we wanted to was so nice, and watching other having so much fun floating by was pleasurable
.
The cottage was very clean and the kitchen was well equipped.
But the best part of this listing is the beautiful river views. We were here in the winter but I can image canoeing or kayaking here. Roberta answered all my questions quickly and nicely.
Very much enjoyed our weekend stay. Cabin was better and more spacious than pictured. Enjoyed watching ducks from the swings. Alot of the items that I forgot to pack were available in the cabin, down to Marshmello roasters.🙂 Host was quickly responsive to questions. Exceeded expectations. 😊 Would book again.
Comfortable Well Equipped Cottage on the Allegheny River
This comfortable, well equipped 3 bedroom cottage lived up well to how it was advertised. The owners obviously have spent a lot of time and attention to making sure that their river-front cottage would more than meet the needs of their guests. Nice job Roberta! We will be returning.
House is very well maintained and super clean! The view of the river is beautiful. The covered porch and covered deck with swings are perfect. Even in the rain we were able to enjoy both. Great fire pit with plenty of wood provided. Second bathroom is toilet in utility area; comes in handy if needed! Neighbors were quiet and spaced out nicely.
Our music group from Ohio really enjoyed our stay on the river. The cabin is brand new, super clean, and quaint. Lots of firewood to keep you warm while you’re out stargazing. The river is peaceful and the town is wonderful. The only suggestion is that it gets pretty chilly in the bedrooms at night - bring extra blankets. What a wonderful stay. Thanks! -Roxxymoron
We were looking for a safe place to take our two grandsons (10&12) to enjoy fishing and the outdoors. Roberta's Dunns Eddy riverfront house provided our grandsons with a wonderful experience. From the abundant water activities to the back porch and swings our grandsons never stopped enjoying the beautiful outdoors. We enjoyed the quiet neighborhood and the special conversation with a charming senior neighbor.
Thanks Roberta.
Thank you Roberta! We had a truly wonderful time. The house was beautiful and immaculate. We absolutely loved sitting on the swing, overlooking the lake and enjoying the fire and the serenity of everything. My girlfriend and I got some very much needed time away. We ran out of time and weren’t able to get firewood so we really appreciated that you provided plenty of it. Our experience was peaceful and surreal.
This was a fantastic getaway for myself, my sister and her husband. We just wanted to cook ,eat, drink wine, and relax on Thanksgiving. Your place provided all we needed to do just that. We each even got our own comfy couch! Once we got the tv figured out we were all set.
The views from the back yard were beautiful and we enjoyed watching and hearing the geese while we sat around the fire.
I’m inspired to come back in the warmer weather and get my kayak in the river. I did take some hikes around the area but want to do more.
Thanks for sharing your sweet place with me and my family.
My family and I were very pleased with our stay. It was great to be back in PA again. The location on the banks of the Allegheny was beautiful. The property was clean and well kept. The kitchen had everything we needed. The size was perfect for the six of us. If I get another chance to go back, I'll definitely stay here again.
Three retired adult men on a fall motorcycle trip to the Allegheny National Forest and to the Eldred WWII and Case/Zippo Museums. The house was great. Very clean and orderly. Everything worked perfectly. We used the kitchen, covered house deck. covered deck by the river and the fire pit. I would highly recommend this place. Nice and quiet even though there are other houses near by.

Why they chose this property
This is a beautiful piece of property right on the Allegheny River, with easy road access to the cottage. Sits on half acre with lots of room to have yard games and enjoy a fire.
What makes this property unique
Very private and nice neighbors. Easy road access all year round. Lots of parking. It is a new build just finished in May 2021. Beautiful views from the gazebo that sits right on the river and great views off the back porch of the cottage as well. State game land for hunting nearby. Snowmobile trails in the winter. Fishing in the Allegheny River or go enjoy kayaking, fishing, boating, hiking and biking at the Kinzua Dam area. The fall is beautiful here with the fall leaves and changing of seasons. Great place to visit all year round or have family stay while they are here visiting. There are great hiking and biking trails you can access from the cottage. Kayaking is a great relaxing time on the Allegheny River as well. You can rent or bring your own. Many areas to start from and finish at cottage or start at cottage and end downstream. Also Chautauqua Lake is only a short drive away with great fishing and boating as well.
