About this property

Leisurely storybook country house near town

Our 'country home' is very private, surrounded by lush forests full of walking trails, a babbling creek, owls and beautiful wildlife. And yet, it's just minutes away from the town centers of Woodinville and Redmond, as well as Microsoft, T-Mobile, Expedia HQs, and more. You can relax here, slipping into the world of nature, while knowing the nearest Café and local COOP market is just 1 mile away. Also, just 5 miles from downtown Redmond and 6 miles from Woodinville's wine district. During the season, head to Outdoor Movies at Marymoor Park, go Hot-Air ballooning, or The Concerts at Chateau St. Michelle, all roughly 10 minutes away.

This is one of the quietest places in the Seattle metro area, great for artists, writers, musicians, or tech and medical professionals who want some quietude after a workday or conferences in the busy city. The house was built in the mid-1980's, intentionally resembling a French country cottage, with modern amenities. It has been a non-smoking, no chemical, no pet home, and shoes are always kept outside : )

The Downstairs has a beautiful luxury kitchen with Miele and Viking appliances, including 2 ovens, extensive granite counter tops and new updated cabinets, looks onto a lounge area that has large windows and a wood burning fireplace. Dining room with french doors that access a very large wrap-around deck and beautiful views of the creek, woods and clean skies.

Main floor: Living room has a cozy gas fireplace. Most of the floorspace is hardwood. Powder room and laundry/supplies room. A studio office room with carpeted floor, office supplies and wi-fi/ethernet connections.

Upstairs: A large master bedroom. The master bath includes smooth marble floors and walls, surrounding an extra large jacuzzi tub, and walk-in closet. Also upstairs are 'Jack and Jill' bedrooms connecting to a large and spacious sunny bathroom with shower/tub. Rooms are carpeted with nice, light beige carpet (professionally washed every year).

There is a playground set in the yard, plus a trampoline and another great big swing for kids to enjoy.

A large, fenced-in organic garden with veggie beds and 'hügelkultur' mounds provides fresh foods. Fruit trees and abundant berry bushes (yours to harvest in the summer)! Plenty of extra space for planting your own organic vegetables and herbs, as the grounds have been pesticide- and chemical-free at least since 2010. Lower garden has a chicken coop, fire pit and direct access to a harmonious stream (part of the property) in which small trout and frogs lure about. The property is part of an important Barred Owl habitat, and they are soothingly heard most evenings. Incredible large trees and a steady wildlife thrives here, so, mindful and responsible exploration of the outdoor space is appreciated.

A native of Mexico City, I spent my childhood in central Germany, and later lived and worked in New Zealand and Sweden. I've loved traveling all my life, and became culturally sensitive and learned to do things I love, as well as love in return everything I've been surrounded by. A contractor now, I came from a 12-year career in the Automotive Manufacturing industry, which developed in me a keen eye for exceptional practices, essentialism, and creating smooth logistic flows and impeccable work environments. This has been applied in many ways in my life, with a house being no exception. Let me welcome you to what I call quaint, heavenly living. Thank you!

Why they chose this property

If you're looking to get away from the common bustle of most urban areas, this is the place that allows you to do so, without necessarily traveling far. A haven for anyone who feels any amounts of stress or pressure, ...when you arrive here, it's like letting go of a heavy weight of worries and regaining your energy with fresh forest air!

What makes this property unique

When people arrive here, they say it feels like the childhood country getaway they always dreamed of, or in some cases, actually experienced. It brings a certain nostalgia. The cottage lifestyle surrounded by beautiful, and largely untouched forest of large and small trees covered in moss, is sure to bring you remarkable memories that you will take with you forever. It's no wonder guests and friends from as near as Seattle or Portland come here to get a dose of blissful nature restoration.
