The location is excellent, quiet with outstanding view. The Villa is very spacious and among the most luxury available. Will definitely stay there again
Stunning and convenient location for the town and airport yet felt like a sufficient distance away, wonderful modern property that was perfect for our family (of seven), lovely hot tub, great location for Aurora spotting and forest lagoon. Friendly and communicate hosts who interacted with us at all stages. A wonderful first visit to Akureyri - we will be back again soon!
Well stocked house with great location - outside of the bustle of town but close enough to quickly access everything. Forest Lagoon just down the road was perfect for a relaxing dip, they are even open late so you can stop by after dinner! Hosts were responsive and helpful. Would stay again if back in the area!
Beautiful house! Huge and well equipped. Lovely and warm. Worth noting that the sofa bed in the fourth bedroom is only really big enough for one adult or two children. Also worth saying that there is no TV in the house- didn’t bother us as we were out a lot, but it might bother other people. The house is very tech heavy- which was a bit tricky as the main screen in the kitchen didn’t seem to be working but we figured it out through trial and error. We would definitely be back- loved it!
The home was beautiful and expansive, and was perfect for our family of four. The garage was a great feature for moving children and luggage during the cold. And the home was very close to the town which made our stay convenient. Would definitely stay again , amazing value also.
Can not recommend this house more. Beautiful view, quiet surroundings, great kitchen and hot tub. The property owner gave great directions and was responsive to communication.
Would recommend this to family and friends traveling and plan on returning myself
On our three week Iceland road trip in Sept/October. Akureyri was definitely a highlight: 1) Spacious house in a quiet area. 2) Beautiful view of surrounding snow cap mountains 3) One evening we saw the best Northern Lights of our entire trip so far. We went out on the porch noticed some lights and then saw some brilliant ones 30 feet outside front door. 4) Excellent proximity to Kelli Whale watching and downtown.
Home was amazing with beautiful view!!! Close to many attractions. The Forest Lagoon is minutes away and a fabulous place. Clean, comfortable, spacious and modern. Hot tub was nice even watched the Northern Lights while relaxing. Only suggestion is to bring toilet paper, paper towels and storage bags. Would visit again!!!
Absolutely beautiful home, we would highly recommend. The deck was great for a meal with a great view and a relaxing tub after a day of long hikes. Bed very very comfortable. Everything was exactly like the listing said.
We were with two Families in this a great and spcious Villa. The location was excellent and vry close by car to the most important locations in Aukeryri.
The host was very nice and the check in was very easy.
This was a beautiful home in a convenient location (short drive to everything), amazing views. I often hesitate renting private homes as the online listing can be different from the actual home but this one was accurate and we really enjoyed the stay. Forest lagoon is only 4 mins away so we went twice, as well as drove to the Godafoss Waterfall, Myvatn, went fishing and on a Whale watching expedition. Absolutely loved Akureyri and our stay.
This home is beautiful, spacious and comfortable. The beds were comfortable, the showers pleasant. The hot tub filled quickly. I was overall happy with this home.
A helpful note, the home is outside the delivery range for Wolt (or I don’t know how to input addresses…either one is possible) so hit a place for take out or the grocery store before you settle in. We were beat from our drive from the Golden Circle and didn’t want to go back out, but we had to because of the no delivery situation. There is nothing within walking distance. But that fact does make the view spectacular.
I would definitely stay here again.
The view from this house is to die for. We loved all of the space we had to spread out in the main living area. Everything was comfortable and it was very clean. We would stay here again in a heartbeat!
We had a short as we were working around the ring road but this was our longest stop. The location is great, short drive into town and a good base trip explore the nearby geothermal areas and northeast in general. The beds were very comfortable and the kitchen was great! The view is so relaxing! Great Place!
Our family of 6 stayed in this amazing house near Akureyri during a 12 day holiday. There is ample parking space and the directions given are super helpful. The house is immaculately kept und well equipped. The rooms are super spacious und have all (and more) of what is needed. I have never been in such a well equipped kitchen before - in any rental home. The view over the river is spectacular, especially from the hot tub. Akureyri and the area around over a wide variety of things to do. We went hiking (up Mount Súlur and others), whale watching (Husavik), visited waterfalls (biggest one was Godafoss), horse riding (farm Eyjardalsá near Godafoss) and did the Zipline Tour over the river in Akureyri (Zipak). We also visited the forest lagoon, but the local pool is heated as well and that overs slides and other things for smaller children to do. I recommend to buy fresh fish from the Fisk Kompani in the Bonus supermarket in Akureyri.
The landlord is very nice and responds very quickly to questions. Minor repairs (things can always break), are done super fast.
As there is a utility room (again very generously sized) next to the big garage with a washing machine and a dryer, I can imagine using this house in winter as well. There is a skiing area near by and snow mobile tours are offered.
I can only recommend the property to anybody wanting to visit the north of Iceland.
We loved this home, especially how large it was! Hot tub was nice with a wonderful view, but know it takes about 1.5 hours till it is ready. Super nice master bath and larger than normal bedrooms. Plenty of space! Top notch! Convenient location.
Incredible house just a hop, skip and jump outside of Akureyri!
We were blown away with how spacious and beautiful the house was, and even more amazed by the stunning view of the mountains. Served as a great central spot for 3 nights to venture around the area and up to Husavik. The hot tub was easy to use and we took advantage of it each night. Perfect kitchen for making at home meals and more comfortable living room than most offer. The host provided so much information on what to do and see. We were sad to leave!
We came to Akureyri for the Artic Open. The house was perfect for us. The hot tub was fantastic and the house was fully stocked. Having the washer/dryer with soap was great too. Really appreciated our stay and would highly recommend. Beautiful view.
Just remember to bring toiletries (none provided; we didn't notice that in the listing).
