MDI Vacation

We had a great stay at Duck Cove Cottage. Was a perfect destination for exploring the quiet side of MDI. Very close to Bass Harbor Lighthouse and the Wonderland and Ship Harbor Acadia Trails which were all fantastic.

Amazing experience at Duck Cove

My family and I stayed at Duck Cove while visiting Mt Desert Island and Acadia national park. The property was even better than what was depicted in the description and photos. It was extremely spacious and quiet. The location was perfect for us as it was somewhat removed from the crowds visiting Acadia. We plan on returning to Acadia in the future and will definitely try to book this property again.

Great location on Mt Desert

Great location on the quieter side of the island but drivable to more popular areas. Beautiful overlooking the water and nice to have our own private water access. Host was very responsive and gave good suggestions. We felt comfortable and welcomed - our home away from home for the week!

Great time

My family and I stayed here to be close to Acadia and all it offers. We loved the space provided for all of us to be comfortable and especially the deck. It was well equipped with everything you need and exactly as advertised. We also loved the location and had no issues navigating to several key parts of Acadia we wanted to see. One of our favorite stops was at Archie’s just down the road. It was a delicious BYOB lobster “shack” right on the gulf of Maine.

Amazing location!

We absolutely loved our stay at Tricia’s property! The home was clean and had everything we needed. The view was even more than we expected. Having access to our own beach and kayaks was such a special treat and the star gazing at night was an unexpected bonus! Being on the “quiet side” of the island definitely came with some perks! Tricia, was so easy to communicate with. She even scrounged up a high chair for our baby so we didn’t have to fly with ours. It was a joy to stay here!

Highly Recommend!

My family and I thoroughly enjoyed our 4-night stay here. Highlights were the beautiful view from the back deck and the hospitality of our host- Tricia went out of her way to make sure our needs were met throughout our stay. Would highly recommend booking!

We loved it here!

The property was perfect for our family of 4. It was very clean, with enough space for 4-5 ppl. Kitchen was well stocked with supplies and the bathroom had plenty of towels. Tricia (the owner) was easy and quick with her communication. The check-in and check-out process were a breeze. The view from the deck is stunning. The property is close to Echo Lake and Acadia Mountain and not far from Park Loop Rd. You need a car to stay here if you're planning to explore Acadia. We would stay here again. And as a bonus - we were able to buy lobster straight from Tricia and cook them ourselves!

Couldn’t ask for more

Property was in a great location with easy access to all things Acadia. Patio was most amazing thing about the house. Perfect view for AM coffee and evening dinners. If you forget anything, it seemed like the home owner had thought of it and it was available at the house. Bug spray, sunscreen, laundry supplies, anything. Whenever I get back to Acadia, I plan to stay here again.

Quiet side

Clean, cozy well-stocked house on the quiet side of MDI. Beautiful ocean views from the back deck, but the house is not quite waterfront and there is an active working boat launch. Tricia was very responsive and helpful. One of the highlights was the fresh lobsters caught and delivered to the house by the host. Having an outdoor firepit would have been plus. Close to SW Harbor but 30-40 minutes from Bar Harbor. Overall enjoyed the stay.

Quiet area. Beautiful view. Clean house.

Beautiful house, gorgeous view, quiet/peaceful, and clean / well stocked house. Tricia was very friendly and always quick to respond to any questions through out the booking process. The house was so clean and the kitchen had everything we needed to cook dinner every night. They provided linens/ toilet paper/ paper towels and even had TUMs in the bathroom. The house was about 40 minutes from Park Loop Road at Acadia. There were plenty of scenic trails that were less than 15 minutes from the house that we enjoyed (bass harbor light house, ship harbor trail, wonderland trail, flying mountain trail, and valley peak trail). Would definitely recommend staying here if you’re looking for a peaceful escape and a place to relax/ enjoy the scenic water views after an eventful day at Acadia National Park.

A little slice of heaven

We loved this property and enjoyed staying on the quiet side of MDI. Sunsets and sunrises with an ocean view were incredible. We loved the ocean breeze coming through the window every night. The place was immaculate and very inviting. Owners were very accommodating and quick to respond, will definitely be staying here again!

My Husband and I started out family 10 years ago with a wedding ceremony at our family boat yard located down the hill from this property. We have been blessed with three beautiful children. My husband is a locate lobsterman and I am a nurse for the local hospital.

Why they chose this property

When my husband's family decided to sell this property we realized we didn't want to miss the opportunity to expand our current property.

What makes this property unique

The views from the house are hard to beat. But in addition to having the views you also have access to a large area of beachfront which is hard to find on Mount Desert Island.
