About this property
Lakefront Cottage minutes from Oxford
Experience this hidden gem lakefront retreat just 5 minutes from downtown Oxford and the University of Mississippi. Enjoy kayaking, birdwatching, grilling, evening bonfires and more just steps from your large screened porch.
This is the perfect place to relax in solitude while being close to everything. Great for game day or getting away from it all, this new cottage has everything you could ask for. The cottage is not child proof so would be more appropriate for older children.
Our family home shares the property but you will experience privacy during your stay.

Perfect stay. My wife and I were just doing a long weekend away for rest and relaxation. This cabin couldn't have been better. Clean, modern charm, big inside. Peaceful, quiet, beautiful outside. Only 10 minutes to the center of Oxford so we were back and forth all weekend. The house was so well stocked with everything one could need: games, sunscreen, bug spray, fire starter/wood, kayaks, snacks, tea/coffee. Our hosts were wonderful as well - looking out for us when we arrived to town late and checking on us politely when a big storm rolled through.
This beautiful property was such an oasis, but the additional amenities provided were awesome.
Kayaks, a paddle boat, croquet, fishing, binoculars for bird watching, a fire pit with wood!
This property has been in the owner’s family for over 50 years and you can see the amount of love they have poured into it.
Thank you Kathy and Patrick!! We would LOVE to come back!
This place was wonderful. We didn’t want to leave! Perfect place to relax and unwind! Not far from from everything but far enough way from all the chaos of Oxford.
It the perfect place to stay! You will want to go back.
This is the second time we’ve stayed in this cottage by the lake and it is by far our favorite place when visiting our student at Ole Miss. We have stayed at several other BNB’s in Oxford and this is by far our favorite.
This was such an awesome trip! We do the Gulf Beaches every year but let me tell you, this little beach is better for kids than anything on 30A. My 10 and 6 year old, caught minnows with nets, and swam around for hours. No crowds, waves, sharks, just beautiful nature. We also did some very fun fishing for this age with the Jon Boat and Kayaks. We caught probably 15-20 Bluegill and 8-10 smaller bass during our weekend stay and we are not experienced fishermen. (Real Worms for the Bluegill, and Dark Plastic Worms for the Bass) We were just trying to hook some easy to catch fish for the kiddos. I am sure there are bigger fish if that is what you are after. The Screened in Porch was a perfect place to hang out after a day on the lake. We also went into Oxford, which is a 10 minute drive for Pizza and Burgers. It was a perfect trip!!
We are a travel softball family. Two daughters playing for two different organizations in two different age divisions. We make it up to Oxford for tournaments two to three times every year. Love the area! We usually go the hotel route but this year decided to make a mini vacation out of it and looked for something with some peace and quiet and a few more amenities. We hit the jackpot with this property! Tucked away just off the highway beyond a long wooded path, lies this well taken care of property with beautiful lake and lake house. The lake house was very clean, well maintained, and had all the amenities of home (full kitchen, wi-fi, tv, extra towels, etc). We especially enjoyed the lake area. There was a small beach area with a nice wood burning fire pit that we used one night to make s’mores and look at the stars. The kids made good use of the kayak and flat boat too during our stay. We were also able to fish every day. I even began teaching my youngest daughter how to fly-fish. Overall, we had a wonderful time as a family and will not hesitate to stay at this property again in the near future.
We had the absolute pleasure of staying at this beautiful property. What an absolute gem!! Could not have asked for a more serene setting among the Oxford pines. Kathy and Patrick truly set the bar high - they went above and beyond to ensure we had a wonderful stay. Can not wait to return again soon!!
Location is amazing. Close to town but hidden away on a beautiful piece of property with a lake. House was beautiful! Loved our stay, so relaxing and peaceful, didn't want to leave!
Our first glimpse of this quaint cottage were the twinkling lights through the majestic timber on the screened in porch. To say our visit was magical just begins to describe this amazing place. Each item in this property was chosen with efficiency, a deep sense of belonging and comforting ease. Kathy and Pat are wonderful, accommodating hosts that make you feel like family from the very start. We didn’t want to leave!
This was such an amazing cabin to unwind and catch up with our son who is a freshman at Ole Miss. We will definitely stay again and look forward to it.
My daughters and I met here for a weekend get away We are so glad we found this gem of a place. The cabin is beautiful, clean, and set up with everything you need. The surroundings are breathtaking with woods and a gorgeous lake. We kayaked and swam. The owners are kind and get back to you immediately if you have any questions. We couldn’t have chosen a better place!!
This was the perfect place for us to spend almost 2 weeks for our daughters move-in and sorority rush week at Ole Miss. The place had everything we needed and the location was ideal. We will definitely be back.
Opted for the Lakefront Cottage vs. organized hotel for a wedding in Oxford ... and so glad we did! It was so clean, relaxing and perfect for our family of 3. We enjoyed the kayaks and the front porch as much as we could. I would not hesitate to book this again!

We have lived on this property for 50 years. We raised our daughter and many pets on this lovely place. We have enjoyed the privacy and easy access to the university and the town of Oxford. We shared this property with my mother. She passed away in 2019 and we decided to keep the property in the family by sharing it with others. We have enjoyed meeting people from around the world and hope by doing this we will be able to afford to keep the property for many years to come. Thank you for helping us with our goal.
Why they chose this property
The property is very special. The Guest packet in the cottage describes the seasons and wildlife that surround us. It is quiet, yet close to everything. We feel blessed and a privilege to live on this slice of paradise.
What makes this property unique
Kayaking,, swimming and having a bonfire on the beach with s'mores and good conversation are just the beginning. If you would like to fish, please bring your own equipment. We have a one pole-one person fishing rule. Also we have a catch and release policy. Attending the University of Mississippi sporting events just down the road are also must see if you enjoy college sports. We have it all. Book conferences, festivals, good music and amazing food are all part of this beautiful place. Oxford has been called the "Pearl of the South". We hope you come to visit.
