Upstairs, bedrooms include two queens, one full, two singles (plus a large room with a pullout couch and an adjoining area with a daybed). A large downstairs bedroom has twin beds with an attached full bath. The enormous front lawn invites games and plenty of space for running around, badminton and more. Amenities include an outdoor propane grill, two fireplaces, washer/dryer, dishwasher, stove, as well as a two-car garage and ample parking in two driveways.

Kayaks (not included) can be launched from the beach; bicycle rentals are available in town, and golf and tennis are also nearby. Hike in the Witherle Woods, enjoy boating and kayaking tours, as well as local tours given by the Castine Historical Society. Blue Hill, Acadia National Park, Bar Harbor, Camden, Belfast, and Searsport are all easy day or afternoon trips from this delightful spot. Bicycles are available to rent in town.

Breathtaking Views and Maine Charm!

We had a wonderful stay here. Our family of six and varying nannies and grandparents spent three wonderful weeks here. The view truly cannot be described, and the house was cozily outfitted for everything. The owners were communicative and helpful, and check-in and check-out were a breeze. Highly recommended!

Wonderful Castine Vacation Home

All ten of us loved this spacious, well appointed estate. There are spectacular views in every direction. My husband and I are senior citizens and we enjoyed the large bedroom with an adjoining bath on the first floor.

memorable vacation

Loved loved this home. It was furnished beautifully, but also had anything you could possibly need for a vacation. It was easy walking distance to town, even though town is very small. Wasn't sure if 5 grandchildren (high school and college) would enjoy, but they are ready to return. Thanks to the owner

Beautiful home, relaxing vacation spot!

The home was beautiful with so much space. The furnishings were wonderful! They even had all the tools for us to use when we made lobsters at home! Walking distance to downtown. Highly recommend!

Great Family Vacation

What a location! This classic Maine home with expansive lawn and breach access was great for our family vacation. We loved walking into town, watching boats and exploring the back shore.

Castine

Very good communication with owners. View and location cannot be beat. Plenty of room to spread out and enjoy. Fully stocked with anything you would need minus your own groceries. Home is older but that is it’s charm. House cleaning could do a bit better job on the easy stuff like under beds, and moving things to clean around more thoroughly. Owners are aware of issues that come with older homes and are working to address those. Our family consensus is we would stay here again.

Why they chose this property

The house, located on Perkins Street, is uniquely situated for spectacular views of Castine harbor, Penobscot Bay, Blue HIll and Isleboro from most rooms, and is a nice walk to town or Dyce's Head LIghthouse. Formerly the carriage house of the large Victorian next door, the property was rebuilt as a quintessential Maine summer house in the 1960s and has been owned by the same family since the late 1920s.

What makes this property unique

One of the prettiest views in town!
