Up a Ladder to Bed

The access to the bed (4 feet above the floor) was a 100% vertical “ladder” made of narrow iron pipe. For an 80-year-old woman, climbing up was difficult—it hurt my feet and there was a pipe to grasp only on one side—and getting down again was treacherous, as I nearly fell more than once. Had I known thus, I would not have booked it.

We did not have a great experience. My wife and I were seeking out a quiet cabin for our 3 year wedding anniversary. We specifically were looking for a place with a hot tub since we both had a stressful October. The listing said there was a hot tub and was one of just a few that claimed to have one. We were extremely disappointed to find out it did not (it has since been updated). We would’ve gone elsewhere had we known it did not. We decided to try and make the most of things but dealt with problems night one. The Wi-Fi was a bit slow, but was mostly fine. There was a scheduled 4 hour power outage that the owners knew about that they didn’t inform us of. We got stuck with a 10pm bedtime. To add to a lack of power, the water was shut off on us until the morning, so no water or use of the bathroom. Day 2 was fine but the bad taste of night one and the disappointment of the only commodity we were there for, kind of ruined the weekend for us. It was not all bad though. The outdoor fire pit was excellent, the space was very clean and very well put together, great distance from downtown Asheville and great hiking, and the kitchen was easy and convenient to use. I don’t like a firm bed, but if you do, this place would be great for you. Hopefully in the future, communication can be improved to make for better weekends.

Short weekend stay

A comfortable stay for the weekend. A great shower, bedroom, and living room space for those who desire the comforts of place to stay while visiting the mountains.

Unique and cozy getaway

My wife and I rang in 2023 in this very cool little cabin/shed that is tricked out like a tiny home but doesn't sacrifice amenities and comfort. Although we planned on eating out during our stay, we ended up using the well-furnished kitchen nook for all our meals. The platform bed was comfortable, and the washer/dryer combo was a nice convenience. Despite the cabin's small footprint, there was still room for a full-sized shower with plenty of hot water. The wifi was spotty at times (the cabin appears to use the wifi signal from another nearby rental), but there's an Ethernet cable on the same network that we used for our laptops. There is extremely limited cell service at the property, so save/print your door codes, maps, etc. before you arrive. But those were minor issues; we thoroughly enjoyed that little cabin and we hope to make it back there again someday.

Great cabin off the beaten path but close to everything!

We loved it! We were celebrating our engagement and Ed was the perfect host! The cabin is beautifully decorated and functional for all of our needs. It was the perfect romantic weekend and our host even included a nice bottle of Prosecco! We have told all of our friends and family and they too will be calling to make a reservation in the future! We will definately be back in touch.

Weekend gefaway

Property was just as described. Used for a short weekend getaway to celebrate my husbands birthday. It was perfect for us. Told them we’d be a late Check in and they left the outside light on for us. Only “issue” was the water pressure in the shower was non existent. That, and the Wi-Fi kept going out, but I put that on the location. We were just fine without it. All in all loved our stay, and would stay again in the future. Clean, cozy, adorable cabin stay.

Weekend Getaway

We didn't plan on being at the place we stayed at other than to sleep. If you don't mind staying outside of Asheville this is a great option. Clean, communication was great w/the owners/others. We didn't get a chance to use the firepit due to the rain. Internet was a but spotty.
